This chapter was amazingly well written.
But even though it is clear that Bella has chosen this lifestyle, I can't help but feel a bit sorry for her. And honestly, their dynamic freaks me out a bit. Probably just because the concept is so foreign to me. I mean, does Bella experience happiness apart from what is allowed by her Master? It appears that she is giving up so very much. But I guess maybe that's the point?
I'm not sure if this review makes any sense at all, but I do love reading this story. It's kind of addictive. ;)

Sorry for the addition to my already loooooong review, but reading leslie's review below made me realize the word that I myself had been searching for, something like sad, angry, etc. Haunted.
I have to agree with her; it doesn't really feel good. Rather, I don't feel secure yet that the relationship is good. I imagine there's some plot coming that will shed light on that.

I like how detailed your story is, there is no fodder or mindless words. It all has a point and is direct!! Suprisingly it is still very sexual without going over the limit or certain boundaries. I have to say first that I'm still interested in this story. I HAVE to see what what happens next. Having said that, this chapter really affected me. I was so...I don't even know the word...upset, sad, angry, at their lifestyle.
I get the dom/sub thing. I guess what I'm having the hardest time adjusting to is the 24/7 "slave." I wanted to cry for her that nothing was her own. She doesn't even get to take a shit in private. She can't even read a damn book or talk to friends.
I know that it's in her nature to submit, but obviously, with her wishing she could do some of those things, she can't be completely happy with being his slave all the time. And getting off can't be her only motivation. It really seems thus far that Edward's only motivation is being in control of someone and getting himself off, not to mention having a free housekeeper. Though he called her love, I don't see the love yet.
I too wonder, like some other reviewers if there is ever any down time? Is it always like that? And if so, how anyone can truly by happy that way? Guess it's a good thing that lifestyle isn't my style.
And thus ends my longest review ever. Can't wait for the next chapter.

I was ridiculously glad to see the endearment "love" used here, and it made me aware that the use of the word "girl," as in "you please me, girl," was perhaps the thing that I found most unsettling about the first chapter.
That gave me a lot to think about: not the lack of privacy or possessions, not the kneeling, not the promise of punishment, but the words "girl" and "slave" when used as direct forms of address really got under my skin.
It's a heavily ritualized life that you show/create here, and I do understand that part of that ritual is the use of terms that remind both parties of their roles. At the same time, I find myself wondering if there are less ritualized moments. Are there deep conversations; is there spontaneous laughter? Or is it ALL ritual? I look forward to finding out.
In this chapter, the one thing I found almost creepy was the presence of the security cameras. And then I got a bit mad because allegedly, Bella gets punished for throwing off the doctor's schedule all morning, but he has time to turn on his laptop and watch her scrubbing the floor? Ass. :)
I also find myself curious about the marriage: did he ask her? or did he tell her? Either way, I was incredibly relieved that this way, if something were to happen to him suddenly, she would have resources. Again, I realized in reading this chapter that I was extremely worried in reading the previous chapter that she had nothing, that she could at his whim be completely dispossesed.
But this chapter gave me insight and comfort, oddly, and I want to tell you again that your writing is really excellent. It's not just titillating or disturbing or thought-provoking but a little of all of those and more. I so appreciate reading something that you are clearly taking such care to compose. Thank you very much.

ummm...I'm not certain what to say. I'm not exactly familiar with the Dom/Sub thing. My gut reaction to her being afraid of forgetting anything was how I felt when I watched "Sleeping with the Enemy"...kind of scared the shit out of me. As strange as this may sound...it's almost as if Edward cares more for Bella than she does for him in a sense. He really did seem concerned for her physical and emotional well being. When she speaks of marriage, it almost sounds like some sort of business interaction.
I think the only way i'll be able to begin to understand the dynamics of their relationship is if I read more (you see what I did there...manipulating you into posting more chapters) --- seriously, I do look forward to reading more of this story.

I really like how the tone of your writing reflects Bella's submissiveness. (Is that a word?) I'm looking forward to their wedding. I am interested in how they interact with people who don't know about their lifestyle. I would also be nice to get Edward's perspective on the situation.

There seems to have been so much thought involved in the planning of Bella's life, obligations, chores, routines. She is there to do what ever he wants when and how he decides. I believe she has to have a very strong mind and will to be able to do it in such way, especially since it is 24/7.
There's nothing that isn't related or adjusted for him and just him. Still he takes care that she isn't harmed in any form. Accordingly to the agreement they have.
The fact that they are going to get married implies that both of them are in this for the really long, long run. In their own way they love each other deeply to get linked in more than one form.
Do they ever take a brake from the Master/Slave scenario? Is there a free day or period of time when they interact not exactly as M/S?
This chapter gave lots of information on their lifestyles and into Bella's mind as a slave, not that much as a person. but it was good to see it.

I read this fic out of sheer curiousity, and I have to say, I'm really intrigued. I'd never heard of anyone taking Dom/Sub stuff this far, and this lifestyle is really fascinating. Knowing that there are actually people who live this way makes it really interesting.
I like that Edward has a tender side, even though he's the Dom. You can tell that he cares for her. Interesting that they're getting married--I'm curious as to how or if their relationship will change. I keep thinking that the whole scenario would get old after awhile--that the relationship would naturally want ot shift and change if they' really love e/o. But then, I don't really understand the drive to dominate or be dominated...
