I wish you had written more of this; how Esme evolved from a newborn into the love of Carlisle's life! I would love to see how her love for Carlisle and her acceptance of becoming a vampire happened. Would Edward be, temporarily, a tiny bit jealous of Esme sharing Carlisle's love, at first; or would Edward accept and love Esme almost immediately?! I always wondered about this throughout Midnight Sun, Twilight and New Moon......

this is so far my favourite of the series, it was sweet that carlisle felt such love for esme even when she was human.

All of the stories you have written in this series are amazing!

I really like how Edward acts, no displeasure or approval, and just oh so above it all.

Esme's baby was found in the crib....it's kind of vague, it just leaves me wondering why.

I know you said that some of your time lines might be off but I thought they didn't bother to bring Esme into the hospital hospital because she was so badly injured. I thought they took her straight to the morgue. You might want to look at that.

Canon issues aside, I really loved this particular line: "...but for me to have, potentially, found my happy ending in this dying woman, it isn’t anything short of a fairytale."

Also, thank you for not painting Edward as a saint. :P

What? No derision from Edward about changing Esme?  Perhaps he can understand WHY Carlisle wants to change her... he loves her.  In many stories I've read, Edward's a real jerk before Twilight begins.  No wonder everyone thinks there is such a dramatic change in him.  We don't see him as the loving, self-sacrificing, jealous vampire; he's a jerk, through and through.

Very nice work!

The present tense threw me for a bit, but I love the way you see Edward's first awkward years and Carlisle's patient contemplation.  I'm eager for him to find that love he deserves!

How does Carlisle get away with this? Won't the hospital up? Just curious.

I liked it. It seems pretty true to how Carlise would react. I see that you have others in the 'afterlife' series. I'll have to look for them.
