Your killing me. I thought since I had read Edwards POV then I would be fine when this chapter hit. But...no. I cried. You both have a tendency to make me do that. Major hear fail today reading this on top of an already heart fail week. I was so emotional reading this. When she calls herself a whore and wanting to go back to being alone I want to wrap her in bubble wrap and take her home with me. Total Esme moment going on here. I feel so bad for her.

Please get these two in a better place soon. I hurt for them. There is so much pain in these two. It says something when you can pull readers in and care so much about your characters. You ladies are so super talented.

Update soon. You're still doing a great job and I squee on every update.

Izzy

Author's Response:

What an amazing compliment!  We're so glad you're connecting like this to our characters.  Don't worry, we'll bring 'em round!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

This is just heartbreaking... that she took his words so hard and allow herself to turn into a shell... Aughhh!

I usually like for things to move slowly, but with this fic... I can't wait for things to move along. I want to see what Edward does to change things, but I can't help to think that she is going to be devastated when she finds out the person he made himself be and be and feel like she can never measure up to his previous conquests.

I so want to see Edward mend her and show her how wrong he was in what he said and show her how much she truly means to him..

Author's Response:

I think that they both will be even more devastated when they see what the other has become...

Awwww Bella is killing me. What is so horrible is that there are people in the world who go through something similar as this and they really are affected this way. Believing themselves to be no better than what someone else has labeled them as. It breaks my heart to think of someone believing these things about themselves. My GOD Edward has some work to do to fix this. Heaven knows how he is going to do it. I'm glad its you two writing this and not me cause right now i have no clue what he can do to make Bella whole again apart from spending the rest of his life proving he loves her in every way imaginable. And i dont think this story is going to be that long... but we can dream :)

You guys capture the emotion of this so well. Its heart achingly beautiful

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for the kind words and review!  Bella is definitely in a terrible place and there are many like her in the world.  It's terribly sad.

Reviewer: Esquire (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 05:06 PM · On: Cry

God, I was so psyched to see your update (despite my pretty obvious burning hatred for Edward, I am obsessed!) but his is just....sad and kind of pathetic. Bella has Edward PTSD! Seriously...her shaking, worry about the dress being slutty, her inner voice....he really, REALLY fucked her up. In a mental-health diagnosis, DSM-IV way. :((((((  DOUCHELORD!  Gah! now I hate him more.

And how does he plan to woo her? doesn't he realize that by luring her over to the dark side, she's going to think "oh great, now I AM a whore!!!"  Gah! This whole scenario is just intolerable.

In my heart, I think it was absolutely mean and inappropriate of Alice to ask her to this wedding, at least so far in advance. She could have popped in the day before, done the rehersal, wedding, reception, and out. 36 hours of hell, tops - but nooooo, Alice always has to get her way. Not her nicest character trait, I've always thought, and certainly taking extreme advantage of Bella's gentle nature.  It is not Alice's place to decide that Bella needs to confront Edward or not.  To have someone you love, and who claims to love you, throw you away like that just tears your soul. Some rooms in our hearts are too dark to stare into for long.  :(

Author's Response:

She is definitely in a bad place and is so so broken.  But, honestly, she won't ever truly heal until she deals with this situation one way or the other...

Thanks so much for all your support!

she so fragile

Author's Response:

They both are.  Her pain is just so obvious...

Reviewer: lost my mind forever (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 04:53 PM · On: Cry

I so wish he could read her mind to see the damage and constant pain and hell he has caused.

What many readers and hard-core Edward fan don't realize is that it wasn't just the words he said. It was the timing. He was the one person in her world who was suppose to know her, love her and trust her. Shame and guilt are common reactions to sexual assault. Most women blame themselves for what has happened and feel shameful about being an assault victim. This reaction can be even stronger among women who are assaulted by someone that they know like Jacob. Imagine being told what Edward told her after the fact. Bella is experiencing Post traumatic Stress Disorder. I wish those readers who are so judgemental of Bella's reaction would fucking google it and see that more than 1/3 of sexual assult victims in this country attemp suicide. And maybe the numbers wouldn't be so high if we the mothers and sisters would open our freaking eyes and minds and try to be a little bid more understanding of what these poor girls and woman go through and HOW MUCH OUR WORDS CAN DAMAGE THEM. I have wondered for many years why only 1/4 of woman ever report sexual assult, I guess I got my answer by looking at the way many reviewers attack a fictional character.

Author's Response:

What a powerful review!  These are incredibly astute observations and we appreciate them.  This is a good analysis of Bella.  And Jacob wasn't the first time she was "victimized" in one regard or another.  That being said, Edward had no way of knowing that his dagger would be plunged this deep (not at all defending what he did or said, just looking at both of them).  But yes, PTSD is spot on and possibly if someone would have listened at the right time, so much could have been avoided.

Thank you for your thoughtful, insightful review.

Oh my God, the tears! I am crying my eyes out, here...Seriously.

My heart is breaking for Bella. I haven't been affected by a fanfic like this, like, EVER. You write so well and evoke such emotion.

Okay, just took a deep breath... I love your story and can't wait to see how it continues to develop and how you will get Edward to break down Bella's wall of insecurity and self-loathing.

Keep up the fantastic work and thank you for making me an emotional wreck. It's very cleansing!  lol! xo

Author's Response:

Wow... what an absolutely amazing compliment!  Thank you so much!

Glad it's cathartic for ya!

i hope she realizes that edward never really saw bella as a whore... that it was all in anger... it is just so sad to see bella thinking like that...

Author's Response:

It's so difficult for both of them.  This will take a lot to fix...

Thanks for reviewing!

I need a happy pill after that.  She is very depressing. They need to have a serious talk sometime in the near future. Good chapter!

Author's Response:

She's pretty broken.  He'll find out the magnitude soon...

Reviewer: IndecisiveMe (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 04:39 PM · On: Cry

Sometimes there are stories that grab you right from the very first chapter.  For me, this is definitely one of those stories.  I hope Edward can help put Bella back together again, but I think he's got a big job.

I love this chapter and I can't wait to read what's coming next.

Author's Response:

He has his work cut out for him.  Then again, he's pretty broken too...

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Aww *tears fall* sweet, nice to see it from BPOV.  I'm really looking forward to next chapter when they are alone. I hope there will be less crying on my part though. It makes it a little hard to read with the tears.  Please hurry, this is like crack to me, and I simply can't get enough....Oh, and the song is PERFECT!!!

Author's Response:

There will be more soon.  Edward makes some realizations...

Thanks for reviewing!

Wow, her head is a really sad place to be! I know he was an ass and deserves to be kicked in the crotch a few thousand times for it, but I really hope him and the rest of the gang can get Bella back. It really breaks my heart to read her thoughts! No one's thoughts should be that sad all the time! Bella needs happiness again, light and laughter, I hope she gets it back.

Author's Response:

She does need to find a happy place again.  It's going to take all of them, including her and especially Edward, to bring her back.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: Beans827 (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 04:22 PM · On: Cry

Oh God...when Esme hugged Bella...I broke out in goose bumps all up and down my arms.  I guess Bella could have run away from Edward all that time, but to leave that wonderful family?  That would be even worse!  But I'm glad to see her back now!  Great chapter.  Thanks for sharing!!!

Author's Response:

To her, they were all extensions of Edward.  Inextricable.  She had to go, in her mind.

Thank you so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: Charmie (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 04:16 PM · On: Cry

okay so this chapter felt stalled....but i get it...you needed to hear bella's pov...but i'd like to see some progression.

Author's Response:

Alas, we are trying to only repeat POV's on very important events.  If we had just told it from Edward's POV, the depth of Bella's trauma would never be evident.  The next several are from one POV or another.  I appreciate your opinion, but we really felt that it was needed in this case.

Thanks for reviewing!

Reviewer: sportress (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 04:07 PM · On: Cry

oh yes i have so been here.  thinking everything was ok, thinking all was forgiven, only to be cast aside again...when the chosen girlfriend came back to school from summer break.   part of me would give anything to see him, to touch him...part of me wants to hurt him like he hurt me.  EXCELLENT CHAPTER!

Author's Response:

I think most of us have experiences like this somewhere in our pasts.  It scars us all at one level or another.

Thank you so much for reviewing!

Your song choices are always so perfect - loved it. They so need to have it all out - just sit and talk and listen and cry and vent and understand....I know it won't be a quick fix but she said it herself, his eyes never lied - and if she's seeing what she seeing in there now, that's gotta count for something!! Nicely done ladies, as always.

Author's Response:

We have an amazing playlist going for this fic, although often Tammy finds the perfect song for my chapters (she found Cry) and I find them for hers (Stolen Away).  Music is definitely a big motivator for this fic!

Thanks so very much for reading and reviewing!

You've got me all teary eyed and choked up here. Poor Bella is so broken and insecure. I know that she has internalized way too much from Edwards harsh words from so many years ago and I can't help but still be a little angry with him. He's going to have to do some pretty wonderful things to redeem himself. Great story, lovin the quick updates!

Author's Response:

The events at prom were simply the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.  There was a lot going on with both of them before that point, but their entire support system was the other person.  When that fell apart, they fell apart.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: Tuesday Jane (Anonymous) · Date: October 20, 2009 03:58 PM · On: Cry

I'm in love with this story.  The rawness of her hurt is so clear in every chapter.  It's hard to wait for the two POVs as they are overlapping at this point, but you update so quickly that I can't complain.  Thank you, as always, for writing.  It's a wonderful thing you do.

Author's Response:

Again, we're only going to do the overlap for select scenes where we *really* think it's important to see it from both sides.  For example, you would have *no* clue the depth of Bella's despair from just Edward's observations.  Most scenes, however, will be just from one or the other POV.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: laylieb (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 03:56 PM · On: Cry

poor Bella!!!  If she just wasn't so stubborn and would have let Edward explain himself.......wait a minute......well, if that happened we wouldn't have this awesome story to read! Nevermind.....as you were!!!

Author's Response:

If they both would have done something different her last week in Forks... but then we wouldn't have anything left to write!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: Stacierob1 (Signed) · Date: October 20, 2009 03:50 PM · On: Cry

So heartbreaking....wow.  Bella is sooooo broken, I don't know what is going to ever convince her that she is worthy...or that she can trust anything anyone says to her about her again.  So...sad...but a great story.  Thanks for writing.

Author's Response:

He has his work cut out for him, but she does as well.  She's going to have to want to come back to herself, and to him.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Am loving your story. It's the only one on Twilighted that I follow faithfully. The pure despair of each character gives me hope that their joy will be all the more poignant when they come back together.

Author's Response:

Wow!  Thank you so much for the amazing compliment and the review!
