My heart feels like it has been ripped out and put up on a stake for the world to see. There has to be more going on with Bella than just what happened at prom. Has she suffered similar incidents or something? Her life seems to be isolated as she is not used to social interaction anymore.
I can't wait to see how Edward manages to pull Bella back from her self-created hell.

It's heartbreaking to see just how broken Bella is. It makes me want to kick Edward's ass. The reunion with Esme was very sweet, that was the part that made me cry. Fantastic chapter!

It's so hard to read BPOV... she's having such a hard time. If she only knew... what Edward went through as well, what he really thinks of her :( But she's been severely traumatized. I guess it's up to Edward to show her the way to recovery :)
Nah, but it's true. It hurts to see Bella this way. But I guess the opportunity of healing it's what makes this story so interesting :)
And I guess sooner or later, when the Cullen house gets invaded by invited yet unwanted relatives, there'll be no other way but for Bella to go to Edward's ;) That's what Esme hinted anyway, right?? ;)
I'm really looking forward to more :) I love healing/UST stories :)

That voice in the head seems to only want to confirm only lies and self doubt. In Bella's head, it is like a mantra. That kind of negative self talk is so heard to break out of. Nevertheless, I am so surprised that Bella was able to function around Edward at all. She so obviously loves him still. And despie the negative self talk, her eyes can still see the truth of Edward's emotions about her. I'm so interested to see how Bella and Edward overcome their internal negativity, guilt and regret and get to become friends or on friendlier terms with one another.

I just got to read this update quickly. My electric got shut off on error of the power company so I was without means to read my updates for the past few days.
I loved this chapter, Bella seems terribly messed up. I'll leave a much longer review later, I just wanted to give my love to Ellie for our Broken Bella. It was wonderful darling, as always.

It's like complete and utter agony being in her shoes, or his for that matter. How they could have been so close and then hurt each other so deeply and then just left it at that, rotting their own souls in the process. It leaves a hollow feeling in my chest.

Great chapter. I love this story. Man... Bella really needs some therapy but that is understandable. Maybe Edward can help her realize how sorry he was... but that will probably take some considerable time. Can't wait for the next chapter!

I hate to say this but Bella is really annoying me. I know there's a lot we still need to find out about her past but right now I really want to slap her. I can tell she's confused by the physical change in Edward but that when she looks in his eyes she sees his pain. If only she'd just agreed to talk to him all those years ago.
Anyway I won't say too much more while the morphine's running through me. Except thanks to you and Tammy for a great story that is making us all think.

Yup, Bella is broken broken broken! I was thinking about this (and I think it was mentioned in the threads) but I think I understand more fully why she is this way when I think about her encounters with some of Renee's friends when she was still an alcoholic. It makes sense that Bella would internalize Edward's horrible words more and truly feel that she is unworthy.
I really love how she is still able to interpret his emotions through his eyes because they haven't changed. Yet she still can't see that she is worthy! I also love that she pushes herself to hold his hand because she doesn't want to hurt him.
I know they have a long way to go, but I feel hopeful even through B's pain in this chapter!

Tears. The whole time, I had tears obstructing my view. This was beautifully sad and torturous. Is she too broken? It seems like it could take Heaven and Earth combined to have enough power to heal her.
