OK I love it so far. Can't for more. And I hope that soon they will be able to talk and get everything out in the open, and then start rebuilding their lives with each other.
Author's Response: We hope so too! Edward is going to have to have a lot of patience and Bella will have to let down some of her walls.
Thanks so much for reviewing!

Oh ladies. My heart actually hurts. This is one of those stories that actually haunts the reader with what is and what could have been.
In the beginning I think I looked at our Edward waiting for him to become the swan but now I find myself rethinking the thoughts. Perhaps we have been waiting for Bella to become the swan all along.
All the time that Bella was one of the Cullen crowd I don't know that anyone really realized just how deeply her pain ran. And now she has been away for so long that I don't know that they realize how bad she has become.
Will those that love her be able to help her before she becomes like Mary in It's A Wonderful Life and how her life would have been had George Bailey never lived.
Is there a support group for this story?
Sandra
Author's Response: There is a support group on the thread! LOL!
I think, in a sense, "becomes the swan" refers to both of them. They both have transformed from one thing to the next. The question is, can they metamophosize yet again? Can they each become what they were meant to be all along or will they be stuck in these new roles? But I think the phrase applies equally to them both, but in vastly different ways.

This story is so heart wrenching and beautiful at the same time! Bella being so broken without any self esteem and confidence, the way she still loves him, is killing me! And Edward, whats not to love!! Beautiful/awesome chapter! I find myself checking daily for updates!
Author's Response: Neither of them, really have any self esteem and they are both still deeply in love. There is just so much damage and so many walls...

wow _ love the symbollic gesture! So when is he gonna realize what he's done? Is there any hope at all here? She's far worse than I'd even thought at the beginning! augh!!! Ok its fiction of course there's hope but gah!!!! I wann kick edward in the balls and then lick them better! Perhaps I need medical attention - paging Dr. Cullen!!!
Author's Response: Hahahaha! I think a lot of folks feel that way about Edward. Punch him or kiss him. Hmm... He will have to have a lot of patience to get through to Bella.

I want to say that I think they're making progress, but Bella's inner monologue keeps talking her out of it! I know Edward messed up, and it's going to take a lot for her to trust him again and let herself believe that he didn't really mean what he said to her. I hope she lets him in again and allows herself to be happy. I also hope that Alice really does feed that old bat some ex-lax!
Author's Response: Aunt Betsy needs to be smacked!
It is going to take a lot of patience for Edward to get through to Bella, but no one is a lost cause. Everyone is salvagable, including both of them.

Just when I thought my heart couldn't break any more for our Bella....sigh.
Yes, it was all sad. The awkward moments in the kitchen, the ride to the florist, the tears shed in a moment of consuming agony and nostalgic longing. All very, very sad.
But what I found to be MOST sad in the entire chapter was Edward's innocent ignorance that the Bella who trembled before him, the Bella who couldn't bear to life her gaze into his begging eyes, the Bella who was desperate in her despair....it was ALL HIS DOING.
Edward, in his unknowing heart, asked Bella as she sat before him, all pride and dignity at his feet, "when did it get so bad?" Oh, Edward. On a cold gymnasium floor, a world of hope and promises ended as a fireball incinerated every prayer your Bella ever murmured for you.
YOU. YOU. AND ONLY YOU did this. And yet, you still have no idea the guilt your shoulders are about to carry.
THAT, I think, was the saddest thing of all.
Sweet oblivion, may it open it's arms and swallow you whole to ease you of your inevitable sorrow.
Author's Response: Your reviews are such poetry. So perfect and poignant and beautiful.
Thank you for them.

Ok I can now say that in this story I hate Jacob in this story. I feel sorry for Bella and Edward. I can see it from both POV.
Author's Response: That's what makes it so hard. Both of them reacted so strongly and both had their reasons why.

Hey Mrs P
Poor sad Bella. It's all a bit much for her coming back isn't it? I have such mixed up feelings about her - I feel sorry for her but I'm also angry with her for running away and staying away so long.
I need to process this some more. I loved it though, as always.
Annette
Author's Response: There is a lot to process as there are so many layers to what happened to Bella. Prom was just the straw that broke her.

Wow. That was so sad, she is so broken. The florist's daughter was cute, she can totally see everything. Great chapter...and now I want French Toast.
Author's Response: I loved the florist daughter and we named her for one of our pre-readers who is just as sweet!

I just got the tinglies reading those last lines. Oh, Bella. Oh, Edward. Sigh.
Author's Response: Poor things! They want to be together so badly but they are so broken...
Thanks for all your support, sweet!

I really hope she can start to let go of that night and they can both realize it was a misunderstanding or that in the scheme of things it just doesn't matter and their feelings will just overcomethem and they will start getting a little more touchy feely here soon! I am getting anxious for at LEAST some heavy lip action!
Author's Response: LOL! Hang in there. There's action of all sorts to come.
Thanks for reviewing!

OHHH Bella is so sad and broken. I just hope that it is not to late for her. She seems like she is not even human anymore. And even though Edward has done a better job than Bella has, he seems lost and lonely as well.
Great job and hope it starts to get better for them soon.
Author's Response: No one is unsalvagable. No one is a lost cause. But it will take a lot of healing.

Ok I guess I am going to have to start keeping a box of napkins by my pc when I read these stories. I was not perpared for something like this.
Author's Response: There is a lot of everything in here. But definitely angst. It'll be okay in the end though!

Wow... this is such a beautifully written chapter. I love the ending. I think that Edward is getting that he has to be subtle in working his way back into Bella's circle of trust and safety. This is progressing quite nicely. I'm sure there will be more than a few hiccups, but with them being in the same house and having to do some errands together, it's difficult for them to avoid each other outright. Why do I have the sneaking suspicion that it isn't merely coincidental? Not that their friends and family could've predicted that that woman would've said something rude and untrue about Bella, but maybe they knew that a crowded house would eventually lead to Bella needing to seek out another shelter. Bella says she doesn't get out much, and Alice and Jasper have to know that Bella's become reclusive and, it seems, almost timid around people.
Author's Response: I imagine Jasper is actually probably against pushing Bella in anyway, but apparently agrees enough to go along with letting her stay there - although Edward will be on strict orders. Nothing, however, is conincidental when it comes to Alice.

Could that be hope at the end? I know it's going to take time for Edward to help Bella through all of this, but was there some actual progress made there, or is that wishful thinking on my part? This was another truly wonderful chapter!
Author's Response: There is always hope!

GAH!!! Argh, Edward!!! Why do u have to be so damn suave?? "The world could use more beauty"? Nice one... I'm supposed to hate your guts!! As you can clearly tell, I hold grudges much longer than the Swan! lmao... great update, I could totally see Edward's hair standing on end and his eyes staring from his spot on the floor, he he
Author's Response: And the thing is, it wasn't even a "line. That's just what he feels for her...
Glad you enjoyed the chapter!

Oh poor Bella! So sad!! I could feel her pain as she looked at the flowers. And Chubward knows her so well...knows just the right thing to do. I was riveted by this chapter even tho I am not near a computer. I love this story so much that I will read it in tiny little letters on my tiny little blackberry screen!
Author's Response: LOL! That's how I do almost all of my fic reading!
We are so glad that you are enjoying it!
