Reviews For With Teeth

Wait...what the hell?  Where did that blip with Seth come from?  I thought I scrolled down too far or was on the wrong chapter all of a sudden.  Then I thought she was dreaming.  Is she sexually frustrated or something?

Otherwise, their level of comfort in talking and being around each other is increasing.

More yay!  It's great they are making hesitant looks and comments.  Poor Edward is so insecure, but he's trying.  So Bella is falling for him ...

More to read!

Yay!  Much progress!  Talking and waking and a meal and now a date!  And they almost missed each other.

Great job!

So broken, but I do believe there are little flicks and specks of progress.

Hang in there Edward!

Wow, they were having such a great, real conversation, until Jasper walks by.  What came over Edward?  Did that remind him of what a monster he was or something?

Back to reading.

Oh...poor, dear Edward.  He is just on auto-pilot, just going through the motions.  There is absolutely no meaning - no feeling in his life, except to just get through each day.  You jusst want to reach in and hug him and fix his brokeness.  How did it all get this bad?  Where is his family?  At least he had a moment of clarity when he helped Bella at the book store.  Now he knows her name, and ... fantasized to her.  Maybe he'll speak to her again.

More.

So, Bella's life is pretty routine, comfortable and satifying, but rountine and not exciting.  And its been months, and Edward just passes her like a ship in the night.  Is he so afraid of lapsing that he has completely shut himself off?  Come on, Edward!

oh god, this chapter pretty much kills me.

i'm dying over here.

I've never been to Boston, but spent a number of years growing up in upstate NY, so I know snow and ice and cold and numb.  Breathing into the scarf that's moist from your breath and kicking at a chunck of ice until it broke free - all of those are such acurate descriptions, it brought back memories from long ago!

So, Bella is a college grad, waiting to hear about grad school and working at a bookstore in Port Angeles?  I'm assuming that was Edward at the bookstore?  So he must be out of rehab already?  Seth seems like a hard-working likable guy.

On to more!

Hey Talulah,

I found this after noticing several popular authors I follow on twitter go nuts about updates.  I also write a weekly review of fanfics and someone dropped a rec that I read this.  I've got so much other stuff going on, but had to see what all the buzz was about.

Sweet jesus, woman, you have woven your words in a way that I could sink inside his thoughts, like I was in his skin, the detachment he felt from everyone and everything around him, the counterproductive cycle like lather, rinse, repeat over and over while what was left of his humanity drained away. So glad he's setting everything in order to go to rehab.

You have a brilliant talent.  I'm going to read more!

followed the recommendation on fictionators and i'm thoroughly enjoying your story.  only on chapter 5 and you've written some of the best fanfic E & B characterizations i've read.  and i've read so many i'm a little embarrassed about it.  lovely dialogue, too.  no fluff...  looking forward to reading more.

I got badgered into reading this - even as a wussperv - and fuck I'm glad I did.  I've been reading and reading and reading and I'm a horrible reviewer - I usually don't review until I'm done with what's been currently updated (see, told you I'm awful) but I HAD to stop and tell you how fucking awesome this thing is.  I mean...I was smiling like a flippin' fool through this whole chapter.  I loved everything about it.

Off for more...

This is the first review I have ever left on Twilighted, and only the second story I've read here. I didn't even realize you could review until recently. Anyway, none of that is important. I just wanted to say that this is one of the best stories I have read. You are extremely talented, and after spending an entire afternoon reading With Teeth, I was unable to work on my own story, because each sentence I wrote seemed so sad, simple and ridiculous compared to what I had just read.

I've been tweeting about this non-stop to anyone who will listen. People think (myself included, before I started to read this, having heard amazing things from spanglemaker, ciaobella, writeontime) that this is an angst-fest, and although this is not the easiest subject matter to read, and is by no means fluff, it wasn't THAT angsty. It's perfect - the subject matter is so serious, and the way you deal with it blows my mind, yet you don't depress us, you don't make it angsty for the sake of being ridiculously emo. There are funny moments, sexy moments (that last chapter was perfection), and this is what makes the characters so real. I have to stop gushing now, I'm making little sense and I'm just rambling on.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that this story is amazing, you are amazing, Edward and Bella are amazing, and I cannot wait to read more. Thank you so much for sharing.

OMG this chapter was so hot!!!!!!  Their was such a great mix of sweetness and passion between them. I can't wait to see how their make-out fest affects Edward's AA recovery status.

Truly loving this story. Great chapter, can't wait for the next. :)

Reviewer: fireandice (Signed) · Date: December 12, 2009 01:59 PM · On: Chapter 5

That was very nicely handled - the discovery of Edward's relationship to Jasper and that he goes to AA. Bella's reaction was so real - the not knowing what to say, the return of the awkwardness, Edward leaving with his wall back up (vs. say, she says just the right thing, he smiles and decides she's the one, etc.).

I just looked through your chapter playlists, and I must say, you have an impeccable taste in music. I haven't listened to see how well the songs pair together but at first glance, I think I'm going to like it.

I spent all day yesteday tweeting about your story.  All of my friends have been reading it and I was hesitant because I'm kind of a wuss.  God, am I glad I read it.  You, my dear, are truly amazing.

The repetition in chapter 4 blew me away.  You just nailed the need for order and routine in the life of someone in recovery.  Your characters are so rich and you develop their relationship slowly and realistically.

I fear for him.  It's too soon and he hasn't told her what his life was like before rehab.  This isn't going to go smoothly for them.

I am truly in awe of you and your story.  Come by Twitter and play with us?

Love it, love it, love it!

if i was you i would demand reviews, you put all this hard work into writing such a great story and the least the readers can do is say how amazing it is!
