Fuck me, I love this story.

Oh God, they're so cute and awkward and real together.  The tenor of their conversations rings so true, one moment relaxed and easy, the next filled with anxiety about whether they've said too much or said something that will make the other uncomfortable or think they've been too pushy, and all those things that men and women think about one another when they have no confidence in their attractiveness.  And overlaying all this, of course, is Edward's situation and the fact that, regardless of how he feels and whether it's reciprocated, he can't pursue Bella romantically.  This is going to get so difficult for both of them as their attraction to one another is such a magnetic pull, and inevitably they simply aren't going to be able to fight against it.

I have to say that I really loved this chapter, for the emotional "flavor" of their interactions - how Edward had struggled with his day, how Bella felt frustrated in her inability to fix or help him with it, in their lovemaking, which proceeded in an actual "real life" type of fashion, (far from the usual fiction of instant and spontaneous mutual orgasms..)  - gotta love the truth of wet spots and limp penises!  I do like this story very much - keep up the good work!!  ;)

I have only just worked out that Edward is back in PA from rehab, which is clearly where he was living previously as a drug dealer and addict (doh!)  The description of his AA session was truly intense, and deeply moving.  Edward's confession was corruscating and I could really feel his pain.  He's so lonely and isolated and Jasper was obviously trying to persuade him to open himself up to friendship, without which he will probably struggle to move forward.  He is obviously an intelligent man, who, in all likelihood, squandered his education but is capable of so much more.  I really find myself wanting to know more about how Edward arrived at that point in his life before he decided to clean himself up. 

Poor Edward, presumably he thinks that Bella won't want to know him if she thinks he's got an addiction problem.  I'm keen to see how you will bring them back together so that they can actually get to know one another properly.

It's an odd thing (or perhaps it's not!) that the masturbatory habits of young men never aroused me until I started reading fanfic - more specifically, of course, reading about Edward's masturbatory activities!  And so here I am, ridiculously turned on by the last paragraph of your story.  I loved the beginning of this chapter, the relentless monotony of Edward's current existence, so sharply brought into focus by the clever repetition, then suddenly juxtaposed with his encounter with Bella.  Now 4 chapters in, I just wanted to say that the writing is really excellent.  There are many good fanfics - I have a huge list bookmarked - but even when the stories are well plotted and the characters beautifully drawn, so often the actual writing - the physical construction of the prose - disappoints and lets down an otherwise good fiction.  I loathe sloppy grammar and poor spelling (what are betas for?!) and reading With Teeth is a refreshing change from that.

Girl, I forgot to tell you in my review before that I'm listenting to your playlist and loving it. I kept listening to Ch.14 songs over and over yesterday. I didn't know how good Radiohead other songs were. I loved Calla song "Don't Hold Your Breath", Sleeping Lessons by The Stins, Haiti by The Arcade Fire, Said So What by French Kicks and the list goes on. You have great taste in music. I'm listening to your playlist as I surf the net and read other FF. Keep sharing with us your great music selections. And again I love your story so fucking much. You rock.

Interesting chapter.  Not sure I've quite a handle on Bella yet.  Is she planning to go back to college?  Did she graduate from college?  Why is she working in a bookstore?  It's only part-time, so is she studying part-time?  Clearly, she has met Edward briefly and I guess we'll find out more about what's been happening with him in the next chapter(s).

Duuuuuuuude.  That was awesome.  And hot.  Let's just say that my bf, who rolls his eyes at any mention of twilight fan fic, is pretty happy that I read this chapter in bed last night. 

One thing I keep coming back to - I don't really believe that Edward has become such a different person from the one we first met.  That is to say, I believe that he wants to turn his life around and that he is going through a lot of struggle to real with his addiction.  At the same time, it would be too easy for the careless, reckless, impulsive person that he was to just *snap* go away because he isn't on drugs anymore.  Around Bella, he is virtually unrecognizable compared to how he was at first, and while I accept that this is part of the extreme draw he feels toward her, I guess I would be surprised if he never relapsed, at least emotionally if not literally, and experienced more of the mood swings or assholish tendencies that we saw before. 

 

Being with Bella is the only thing he has going on at this point, but the buzz has to fade eventually.  He has to come into his own as a sober person independently of what's going on between himself and Bella, and I suppose this is where I expect to see more struggle.

Fantastic story.  This is the best Bella I have ever read (it goes without saying how good Edward is).  I am thinking you must be a really nice person with how you write Bella - I just feel it.
