My heart is fucking breaking for both of them :(

*Releases air out of lungs* that was heartbreaking but I didn't cry like I did last chapter (this is a good thing btw). TalulaBlue you are a genius and as I said this chapter was heartbreaking. Reading about Edward hitting rockbottom was difficult and something we didn't get the first time around. I'm sooo glad he went to Japser and I'm glad that Jasper is able and willing to help the best he can. I can't wait for the next chapter and I'm sad that this amazing and brilliant piece of writing is almost over but I've enjoyed EVERY single word. Thank you TB.

I'm really enjoying your writing, even if the story is heartbreaking.

i feel sick.
if i thought bella's chapter was hard, this was worse. in a different way.
how do you know this stuff?

Is it weird that all I could think for a section there was "Oh my goodness, he's Gollum!" So sad, so very sad, this chapter. This is a very hard subject for people to deal with, and I think you're doing it wonderfully.
You've made Jasper into an amazing character in just this chapter. Probably the best I've ever read.
Cheers!

Wow. Wow, that was intense, brutal. Incredible writing. Really, your writing wrecks me. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with us.
Jasper is awesome.

Oh god, poor Edward.
Addiction is such a bitch. How sad.....and how realistic you wrote it as well.
I really hope he can keep it together.
Thanks for such an excellent chapter. You are a wonderful writer.

OMG. That was one of the most painful things I've ever read. So incredibly realistic. The ending I think is leaving some possibility for hope.. if Jasper is taking him to detox.. I hope he can stick with it... Ugh. My heart just hurts so bad. =/

Oh, my heart is in a million little pieces. I know I haven't reviewed before this, but honestly this is one of my very very favorite stories, and I'm completely hooked. You write so unflinchingly about everything that's happening to him. Thank you for writing! I can't wait to read more.

That absolutely broke my heart. I hope things get better soon, for both of them. I can't wait to read more.

Hey, I love this story and was curious as to when it was going to get updated again? Please don't tell me you've stopped writing it.

"But the more I learn, the farther away from her I feel." So well done.
Loved the awkward, sweet dinner.
And it is cool how you weave the word "teeth" into the story.

The same sort of air of discontent oozes from Bella's POV, and I wonder if that's going to be one of the indirect connections she and Edward find. I also wonder how and when she'll meet him.
Also, it's time for me to admit that I am a Jasper girl. So, I must thank you for writing a Jasper who is more than a simple walking fan fiction cliche.

I must admit to you my reasons for reading this are many. I won't get into them all, but i will say this: Your chapters do not appear to be of epic length - a trend in the Twilight fandom that I simply can't generally abide by. Therefore, it makes me happy that it won't take me 12.3 years to get through your story based on sheer length. (TWSS.)
But anyway, onto this chapter.
Edward is detached but not, and I find it interesting how well you've written that razor's edge that he exists on. This 'detached but not' business manifests itself very well, and I wondered, as I read, if perhaps all of his drug use and the fact that he consistently allows drugs to be in control of his life has assisted him in losing the ability to actually act on his moral compass. Yes, he knew it was wrong to sleep with Corasagegirl, but he couldn't stop, etc, etc. It also makes me wonder if he's lost any real opinions on anything.
That said, it was extremely relieving to read that he checked himself into a rehab center. I find myself already hoping that his time in a treatment center will be helpful to him in all the right ways.

had to wait a few weeks to reread this chapter because it was so incredibly heartbreaking. You perfectly conveyed that visceral feeling of being so shocked and wounded that you have difficulty breathing and your mind gets stuck on a nonsensical loop. The tragedy is that though your heart keeps beating and you continue to wake each morning, it is a very long time until you can recapture your breath and have your thoughts sort themselves out.
You have this gift of expressing in words the feelings that seem impossible to record. Bella's stunned reaction, her sense of being betrayed not by Edward's actions as much as the revelation that he was not what she thought he was, and her self-flagellation were note perfect. If someone I knew had never been on the receiving end of a break up by someone they truly loved, and they wanted to know what it was like, I would simply direct them to this chapter.
There was such beauty in this line: "They're all little roads that lead back to Edward." She looked and looked, and then when she wasn't looking, she saw him and knew without a doubt that it was over.

amazing - I love how you have made making out just about the sexiest thing ever. Loved the comment about not remembering how good kissing could be, how it could be THE thing, instead of just something to get through. And the last paragraph is just so perfectly phrased - love it!

You made my chest hurt. That's a combination of your good, sparse writing and the memory of a moment from my distant past, also in a bar, also with an addict. You nailed that feeling when a person who has meant so much to you is, without warning, in front of you again, but completely unknown and uncaring. Very well done. But ouch. It could obviously get even worse, but I'm still anxious to see how things work out between them. Breaking up seems like a minor hurt compared with what just happened here.
The progression of shock then fear before his sneer was just right.
Thanks for posting.

Just started reading this over the past few days and i'm hooked. I'm really hoping that Bella mistook what she saw although I'm not sure how she could.
Edward is a big coward for breaking up with Bella the way he did and I agree with Mike that Bella should have been able to have her say in things.
Can't wait for the next update :)

wow..dont know what else to say beyond that actually. Edward has a long hard road in front of him....& when you described their days a chapter or two back...it was just so sad....him just trying to keep himself afloat. This not remembering thing came as a surprise to me...didnt know that could happen....& Bella's anger at him not recognising her when she's spent her time daydreaming about him!!!

OMG.....my heart just broke. I can't believe chapter 19 ended that way.....please update soon. I am so hooked on this story!
