I'm under the impression that writers seek to evoke some sort of reaction from their victims, I mean readers.
I married an alcoholic at 20 and this story sure brought back some old feelings. Despite your warnings, I read it all hoping, expecting a happy ending. My bad.

Ok that lemon was amazing. I loved how Edward was so caring with her, asking her if she was ok, making sure he wasn't hurting her. I was taken back by the fact you didn't mention her orgasm while they were having sex the first time, but I figured she did, you just didn't include it. Then when he asks her about not getting off and she says, "No" I just smiled because that is real life sex folks. LOL I like real love-making in my fics, and the fact you even talked about the...ahem...messiness of the whole act was nice too.

Wow, bittersweet chapter, to say the least. I am so happy that he comes right out and tells her her likes her, but at the same time I am sad because it only complicates things for the both of them.
I have to be honest, I don't know if I could be with someone with such a shady past and I wonder how she will feel if he ever reveals they ways he has treated women in the past.
