A half nekkid Edward in a kilt? Jaysus. Woman! That image alone, of him drinking at the spring and cooling his body...made the wait btwn chapters worth it!
The chariot scene was fabulous and now Edward is done for. Who saved who? Hmmmm? I can't wait to read Bella's POV / reaction from this scene.
Your writing as always is vivid and lush. I can see the opulant al fresco pavilion.

Author's Response: Thanks! I was going for different. About five different influences led me to come up with the concept, to create this unique society. Can't say I have much personal experience to go with it, but try to picture what others have described for me or just what I summon up on my own. :D

What a sumptuous way to begin my day. Fresh roasted, air pressed coffee, and the TWENTY TWO page decadent delight that is Forbidden Desires. I don't need no stinkin' danish when I have something this delicious to feast upon.
The way you write is so fluid and moves so languidly along the story that I am literally transported and transplanted into Volterra. There is just the right amount of angst, tempered by the perfect balance of gorgeous, 'gah'-inducing lemony goodness. The scene with Rose and Emmett was absolutely drool worthy. Alice's poking and probing into Bella's past so she can see how it will meld with her future was very well done. I'm interested to know how you will be explaining Jasper's scarring!

Em&Rose were fun to write. I figured with as domineering as she can be "outside the bedroom" sts, she'd totally get off on him taking charge. Ali's got plans, can't wait to reveal them along with Jas's back story.

Anyhoo...what a unique idea for a fic!
When I read the first paragraph and I realized what Bella's job was, I was like, "WTF?" hehe, but then when you go on to read EPOV and you recognize our tortured canon Edward, and he explains the status of our society...it made much more sense. Social satire much IW221? Hehe.
I love E's inner monologue and musings. And I love that he feels a pull toward Bella, even though he can't see her. I think thats what I love so much about their love is their level of instant connection.
I am really excited about taking this journey with you! Now, I'm still trying to figure out...is this AU-AH? Or just AU? Bc I get the notion Aro and his peeps live like Gods...are they actually? Do these ppl have powers? Why did Edward say, "its almost as though I could read thoughts?" Why almost? Can he not? And what about Alice's vision? Did she actually have one or is it just intuition? So many questions! I'm sure you'll answer them all...

Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it. I am trying to stay true to the core of who they are, just in a wayyy different setting. I figured Bella is so codependent in cannon, what would she look like to kinda the ultimate giver and still verginal in a society that's the antithisis to ours in so many ways. I was feeling lemoningly repressed when I started writing, meaning it always seemed to take 14 chapters to get to the good stuff when I was feeling like a total horn dog! LOL So I wanted it to jump out strong from the gate in this one! *shakes head at self*
This is all human in an alternate universe. I tried to take the main vampire traits and have them still present in the human forms. The powers are what the cannon vamps might have had before being turned. So since Alice got institutionalized for her visions in cannon I figured she could get moments of less intense visions and less complete visions than if she's a vamp, but have her kinda like an ancient seeer. And political power is political power, so with absolute legal power (Citi-states) the Volturi Lords are still a force to be reconned with at home. They wouldn't be a world wide force like they are as Vamps.
Thanks for letting me know the questions (most of them are intentional ones that will get resolved in the story), but it's nice to make sure I've haven't been leaving things unanswered by accident!

I'm so plugging this story when I post my epi. I have way more readers than reviewers, too, but I try and plug fics that are original and different, like yours. I don't know if it'll do any good, but I can try. Readers on this site are better about reviewing than on FF, too. I only have a little over a hundred reviews for BT on that site. I'm like this is a 29 chapter fic! Come on! On the other hand, the people who do review are faithful about it, and always have inspiring things to say, so it cancells out all those "update soons" that one might normally get. I'd take a well thought review over a hundred of those any day!
So keep trucking and get me chapter 4! This whole idea is truly intriguing! Plus, you're a wonderful writer, so....
