I don't understand why people think being adopted is a bad thing! I've always known I was adopted. My parents told me my whole life. I'm 18 now. I have a better life now than I probably would have if my birth mother raised me. Just because my adopted parents didn't give birth to me, it doesn't mean they're not my mom and dad. I love both my parents and I'm so glad they've always told me that I was adopted. I have an amazing life. Being adopted is NOT a bad thing at all!

i am not - in any way - implying that adoption is a bad thing. we've had a couple of adoptions in my family and i think it's an amazing thing, actually.
you might have misunderstood edward's negativity - he wasn't upset because he was adopted...he was upset because they never told him (or at least, hadn't told him yet) and he found out in a pretty shocking way.
