Great update.  I wish Bella would accept that Edward truly does love her.  Why doesn't he try to really talk to her?  I mean, I know he wants her to be happy and maybe he thinks that she is, but, he has to have some idea that she loves him still.  Argh... More, please.  I love it.

So, Edward's been back in town for less than 24 hours at this point. And since then he's found out that Victoria is there and still very much on the hunt. Right now, I think his primary concern is Bella's safety and what better way to insure that than to get his super vampire family back to Forks to help her? *wink wink*

Edward's being a busy boy, and don't worry, he's not gonna give her up without a fight. :)

I think it's just a tad hypocritical fro Emily to Bella saying she's not Jacob's imprint by saying Jacob loves her when she knows that it doesn't matter if Jake imprints.  Sam loved Leah but that didn't stop him from dumping her when he met Emily.  Emily usually gets the really nice treatment from everyone but the fact is imprint or no imprint she screwed her cousin over.  She doesn't get a pass from me.  Unlike Sam she had a choice.

In this case, I don't think Emily is saying that Jacob loves her so he won't imprint, I think she's saying Jacob loves her and that's enough for him. Which in Jacob's case it is.

Emily, maybe more than anybody, understands the importance of a chosen love. When Sam imprinted on her, it didn't erase his feelings for Leah. There are hints throughout the books that Sam still loves Leah a great deal, and Emily has to live knowing that if he had been able to choose, the man she loves would've been with someone else. So I think she's very conscious of Jacob's 'natural' feelings, and maybe even a little bit envious of Bella for being on the receiving end of such strong emotions (that aren't a supernatural side effect).

But yeah, it was her choice to be with Sam. And I guess that just makes her human for wanting to be with someone who loves her so completely. I can't bring myself to hold it against her. But I'm not Leah, and SHE certainly does have a reason to hate her.

Just a thought. :)

This was a great chapter, answered a few questions, created a ton of other questions...like....

Is Bella going to break Jacobs heart, again, before she realizes he is the one for her?

WHAT THE HELL EDWARD? Who are you to get mad at Jacob for taking Bella to his house and not back to her house? To the point of going ballistic? So Edward:(

WAY TO GO JAKE for keeping his cool when he spoke with Edward, looking out for what was best for his friends and much to his own pain, explaining to Bella that Edward still loves her and if he has to, he will give up his own happiness, if Bella chooses Edward. God I love Jake in this story.

Still don't quite get all the Jacob going to bat for Edward stuff. I sure hope you're not doing that to clear the way for Edward and destroy our poor little Jacob's heart, ARE YOU??? Team Jake members with sharpened pitchforks and torches will be coming to get you if that is the case. I'm not kidding here.

Man, Team Jacob members are frightening!  Almost as frightening as Team Edward fans. (Sorry, but they DO have numbers.)  ;)

Before you skewer me with sharpened pitch-forks, let me share my thoughts on the issue at hand:

I'd like to think of it more as Jacob going to bat for Bella rather than for Edward. Jacob has been dead-set since the beginning to get Bella healed up.  And for him to see how much Edward still hurts her...well, this is where character development comes in. In Eclipse we saw Jacob trying to free Bella by lashing out Edward, by trying to bring him down.  Jacob was desperate and had nothing to lose by pushing.  But in Zenith, Jacob has the advantage of Bella choosing and being with him, which has lead to some growth on both their parts.  Something I've noticed about people, is when you've got the thin--or person--that you want, you're much more likely to take the moral high-ground (something Edward did constantly in Eclipse and BD).  You feel like you can be more generous.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that while Jacob isn't  planning on giving up Bella without a fight, he's not desperate enough at this point to stoop to the levels he did in Eclipse.  He WANTS Bella to choose him, and so far she has.  Now he just wants her happiness, and he's willing to risk alot to achieve it.

Anyway, that's my take on it, but everyone looks at things differently, so I'd love to hear your thoughts, like always.
