Popovers are sentimental food for me too. Only it was my Grama that made them for me :)
A regular muffin pan will work just fine, just 400 degrees Farenheit, and only fill the cups 2/3 full.

I started reading this story yesterday and was all caught up and then, lo and behold, you updated and provided me with another chapter! It's a really great story - someon rec'd it on RAOR so I had to come and see what the fuss was about. I love how they are both finding their way thru this tangled web. Keep up the good work!
