A lot has happened in this chapter. Emmett went through extensive repair surgery. His body was broken badly. I know by the same man who ran Edward off the road and stalked Bella. Now Cavanaugh is harassing the other witnesses with threats and vandalism. Ted will have to call in a lot of favors from his PI friends in Washington and hope they have friends in Oregon and California to send to watch and take care of the other witnesses and their families. Just to get a sick bastard out of jail time. The man is sadistic. He gets off on the power and the thrill of fear. Because daddy has money, they think they can make it all go away. Sometimes money doesn't save you from everything. Someone will make a mistake and it will reflect on Cavanaugh Senior and they'll both end up in jail. Edward concerned about his best friend. Having his mother confirm he has a brother. Heading to La Push to meet his father's mistress and his brother. Jacob, his brother, got the better part of his dad. Wonder why? Because he didn't look like his dad? Or is there something momma hasn't told Edward yet? At least Senior did something right for a change. He supported them, paid for everything and left them well off to boot when he died. Thought it was kinda selfish on Elizabeth's part not to let them be at the funeral. I can understand her embarrassment, but they had a right to say good bye also. At least Edward is making the effort to know them providing the olive branch so to speak. He could have really ruined Jacob's image of their father if he spoke of how their relationship was NOT there and never had been there. Dad just didn't care at all. How can a man love one son over the other? Very heartless and cruel man for sure. Well looking forward to Emmett getting tons better. Someone finding a clue to trace back to Cavanaugh Papa Senior and bring down the entire house.

Great chapter. I seriously think you did a fanfic first by making Edward and Jacob siblings. Way to be original!
This story is probably going to give me an ulcer. lol Pretty action packed.
Can't wait to read more.

Another stellar chapter. So Jake was actually pretty cool....Who you envision as Billie?
Can't wait for more...

Wow. So I am dying to know why Senior spent so much time being a good father to Jacob and not Edward? I'm thinking maybe Edward isn't biologically his, but I don't see his mother doing something like that. I am amazed at Edward's decorum. I don't think I could have sat there and listened to how great the man who cheated on my mother was to his mistress and illegitamite son. Actually, I know I couldn't have done it. I feel so bad for Edward, but he seems to be taking it in stride and not agonizing over it much. I am so glad he has Bella though. That makes things infinitely better.
Billie and Jake are likable I guess. At first, the bragging/pride/whatever was peeving me; especially since Edward was being so nice about it. Of course, they could have though Edward was there to gloat or cause trouble or something, because as the encounter went on they became more likable.
I am glad Emmett is fighting strong and hope the other witnesses can be protected before more are scared off.
Thanks for the update!

Ok 1st it must have hurt Edward to know his ass for a father loved Jacob and his mother more then them. 2nd I am gald that it looks like Emmett will be ok. 3rd they need to pay an inmate to kill James in jail I know that happens all the time. Because if that happens then they would not have to worry about testifing. I can't wait for more.

I felt sorry for Edward as he listen to Jacob and Billie talk even thoe he is a gron man now the child in him is crying to hear he was not good enouh to recieve the same treatment from senior, I believe Senior married Edwards mother for convenience he never loved her and so he never loved the child heproduce with her.Billie he loved so he loved teir son.

Senior is a jerk for the way he favoured Jacob over Edward!
There is a special place in hell for parents like him!

Some were at the funeral to make sure Senior was dead! LOL! What came to mind was the scene out of the movie Charade where that man stuck the body with a pin to make sure the guy was dead!! In Senior's case, it could be every other person sticking him with something!
I am so pissed at Senior!!!! To the point of tears for the way he ignored Edward and cheated him growing up. So Jacob can attend community college and be a mechanic and Senior is okay with that and yet, Edward the lawyer is a disappointment? Jacob looks like Senior and Edward favors his mother? I'm still letting that idea ruminate about Senior not being Edward's father. I'm just refusing to think that he'd be a complete bastard to Edward otherwise.

Wow... poor Edward... he always wanted that kind of relationship with his father and his father was too busy being a dad to another boy. At least Edward doesn't resent Jacob for it... at least not yet.
I hope the Cavanaughs aren't able to find the other victims!

i feel so horrible for Edward, to find out that your father had another son who he seemed to have loved and favoured more than him. That must be so heartbreaking :(
And James what the hell, this boy better get his ass thrown in the slammer ASAP !!!

Boy, this just keeps getting hairier and hairier! Good grief! What more can happen?? I am hoping that HEA will be happening soon.
I guess we will never know why Sr. was so much more attentive to Jacob than he was to Edward. But I would love to know that!
Please Update Again Soon!

I'm glad that Edward met with his brother and the meeting went well but I can't help but feel bad for Edward about how Senior was all fatherly towards Jacob and never towards him. The storm is getting worst before it actually calms down. I sensed that those involved in the trial will be targeted and threatened by evil James and his family. Fantastic chapter. Can't get enough. You really made my day today. Update soon.

It broke my heart for Edward to read how close Jacob and Senior were. Edward got cheated out of that.
Your story stops my heart with evry chapter.

I forgot to review last chapter and I wanted you to know that the proposal was wonderful and very fitting to your characters.
I feel bad for Edward that he had to hear about what a great father his dad was to Jacob. Edward is definitely the better man by not tarnishing Jacob's image of their dad. I hope that when the will is read it will bring some closure to Edward. Thanks for the update.

Emmet's accident was of course on purpose -- probably the work James' father's people. Possibly the same guy that has been watching Bella or that tried to run Edward off the road.
Jacob...illegitmate love child. niiice.

So Jacob is Senior's bastard. Em was hit by the same dark haired person who tried to kill Edward. Please update soon! Thanks.
