Edward ran away from something didn't he! His family doesn't know where he is. He was set up and framed for the murder if their ever was one, or he's blaming himself for something beyond his control. Not to mention his family is rich that's why he wants to know how much she'd need to keep the house. Am I close? Can't wait to read more.

I thoroughly enjoyed Edward exerting his dominance over Demetri! But he is still so mysterious! And Bella, is so kind and patient about letting him just be. Aro, well what can I say, I want to know more about his motivation. Will he hound them? And Edward, why didn't he defend his honor when it came to Bella and the gallows? And was Edward shocked to see Bella dressed for bed? Hmmm?

Bella talked a little bit about Aro's motivation in.. chapter 7 I think. with Alice. He just feels Edward os the scum of the Earth. and it eats him up that there is nothing he can do about it!
The last thing Edward wants is to back talk Aro. Demetri was one thing... but Aro has real control, you know?

Bella's last name is Swan even though she's Carlisle's daughter? Eeenteresting. (Not really, but it struck me as odd while I was being a nerd and trying to figure out how the French would pronounce "Cullen." I think I would laugh if I heard someone say it.) Is there a reason you kept it that way and Edward is Cullen instead of Masen? Or am I just being anal?
Period pieces aren't usually my thing, but I really like this one. And I hate you a little bit for making me want to go back to France. =P

First, I have to tell you that I found the interaction between Edward and demetri was fabulous! I loved that he was able to play the prison/murder card to get Bella out of an uncomfortable situation. I love his protectiveness of her; she saved him and he seems adamant on saving her the best way he knows how.
Second, I wanted to say that Passing By is the perfect remedy to any hump day blues!!!

what is going on with Edward?? Something tells me that there is a lot going on there and they both do like each other - I love this story it's so different and I love that Bella is smart and well read that she is a strong person.

Hmm, is Edward going to contact his family in England for help? I think it's been hinted that he is has a well off background. I can't wait to learn the details surrounding his prison conviction.
