Wow, poor Edward.  Bella handled that like atrue champion.  I'm so glad Edward realized he needed to talk to Bella.  Perfect.  Can't wait until they offically come out of the closet, so to speak.

And thank you for not having them end the day by having sex.  It would have cheapened the situation.  This was more realistic and I love ya for it!

Talk about a riveting chapter.  The heart is pounding quickly, the adrenaline flowing throughout the body.  The intensity of this was breathtaking as well as enlightening.  Edward taking 4 hours to  think through his actions at the club, his feelings for Bella, and the memories of where his dark side came from.  The memories of an innocent little 6 year old boy to the abusive treatment of his mother.  The only person he loved at that time.  He hated the man who yelled, pushed, shoved, struck, kicked, beat, and destroyed his mother.  The man who took his internal demons out on the woman who he claimed he loved and married.  Bastard.  The child took blame for not watching the brutality to be a witness to his mother murder.  If he had gotten up to watch or help, he himself would have been beaten and murdered along with his mother.  It left him so many mental scars and heartache.  Fear to love because he might turn into his father.  He was saved by the Cullens adopting him and the love of the family for him and him for them.  Loving Bella opened the doors to his protectiveness to keep her safe at all times.  He had already failed once, was never going to happen again.  The angry was from his failure to protect against James and hearing their vulgar and repulsive things they said about his girl.  Combined created a man determined to protect Bella at all cost to himself.  No one would hurt her while he was around.  Yes Bella may have been shocked at the intensity of his face and actions, but she never stopped believing or loving him.  Emmett stopped it from becoming a front page brawl of the newspapers, internets, talk shows, newscasts, etc...  Leaving when they did was the best thing to happen.  But once he left a begging Bella at the door to be let in was wrong.  But also it gave him time to contemplate what happened and what he needed to do.  Turning on his phone to all the text messages from his sister and knowing Bella was still up and understood.  Bella understood Edward's need to protect her but Edward knew he needed to tell her where the angry sprang from inside.  Both of them love the other so much it literally hurts to be away from them.  Edward had to learn it was same for Bella also. Edward through Alice arranged to walk in Hyde Park (I would love to some day see that, it's written in so many 18th Century love stories riding n carriages and such)Edward opened up his early childhood experiences with his biological family.  The story was heart-wrenching and horrific for someone so young to live through.  Watching his mother being abused over and over again.  Knowing she wouldn't let him win, but in the end not having the power to prevent it.  The boy learned to hate the man who was his power and his behavior to the woman he loved, his mother.  Deep inside that hatred moved to all the women he loved, the need to protect and keep them safe now, since as a child couldn't protect and keep his mother safe.  That due to his cowardice of not getting up when he heard the fight that last night and his mother was beaten repeatedly and brutally until she was dead.  The guilt, anger, hatred, and his personal feelings of failure to his mother, that Edward felt the following morning was buried deep into his psyche. It took great courage for Edward to tell Bella of these events in his life as well as his thoughts and feelings.  Bella cried for the little boy's loss of his mother, the pain and guilt he felt, and the fear that some day he would become the man he hated the most in the world.  Bella assured him she understood and she loved him.  She held him and comforted him with her love.  She expressed her feelings of helplessness knowing he needed her for silent comfort,  support, and acceptance.  Together they worked through this hell of a night to come out shining with the dawn together stronger than ever.  Also Edward realized part of the problem was hiding his feelings for Bella inside when in public.  He wanted to shout from the highest hills that he loved this beautiful and marvelous woman and that she loved him in return.  Glad that decision was made it will be easier for both of them.  Yes they both will be hounded by photographers and reporters, but Emmett and others can handle that.  Shoving through the crowds to vehicles.  They will go places like they have in London by private entrances, etc...  Even wearing hoodies to disguise themselves.  Looking forward to the following chapters.  Absolutely amazing.

That was draining.  Hell, I think I need to sleep now.  Great chapter.  I thought it was very tastefully and sensitively handled.  Can't wait for more!

wow, i was afraid it'd be all new moon-esque and he'd leave her! but i forgot that there was one more secret Edward needed to share. wow, so much has happened in london. i'm really looking forward to edward asking bella to italy! great chapter, can't wait for your next one
