Wow. I'm SO glad you had Rosalie react the way she did when she found out Ben was a child. I was a little worried at first that you'd have her continue to be furious, but that just doesn't feel like Rose to me. Not with her soft spot for kids. I loved that her anger (and speech) was completely shut-down by the idea of being an aunt. Also loved Esme's reaction as well, since she shares that yearning with Rosalie. And Carlisle, trying to be the voice of reason when everyone else was suddenly thrilled about the situation. :-)

I'm just loving this story. Your pacing is flawless and your characters are so richly drawn. My only criticism (and I hate even calling it that) is that Ben talks really, really, really well for a three year old. Not so much in this chapter, but it was very apparent in chapter 5. It's not really the words he's saying (though he does use some big ones) as much as it is the complex nature of his sentences. And even THAT wouldn't be as noticeable to me if I didn't have a three year old boy of my own running around the house as I'm typing this. ;-) It is conceivable that Ben is an extremely advanced talker (and my little guy isn't), but from what I've seen of other three-year-olds, it wouldn't be common.

To make things a little more realistic, I would recommend simplifying his speech a tad. Try breaking up his longer sentences and have him stumble a bit with the more complicated words. Anyway, just a thought. I still love the little guy!

I agree with you about Rose and Esme...from what we've learned about them, they both have strong maternal instincts and I did not feel that Rose would have continued to be angry with Edward when she found out exactly what had happened. I just couldn't see it either!

And I am so glad you pointed that out about Ben's speech. Even after I read through chapters over and over, it has never stuck out to me, but now that you mention it, I will pay closer attention. My kids are older, so I guess I have either forgotten or get so involved in what I want him to say, I forget to break it up. I appreciate your feedback; anything I can do to improve either the story or my writing is always greatly appreciated!

I also appreciate your excitement and positive comments...I'm hoping to get the next chapter done this weekend!

He's here.  I hope he's all right.  I think he's lost his marbles...possibly exposing us all to save a human? I don't get it.   His stress level will be through the roof. I'm gonna have to work double-time.  I wonder if this means that Bella and I will be friends now...I hope so!   Moron...stupid idiot!    I'm impressed at how spot on you are about everyone. 

Mature Bella was a lot less pissy about Edward not telling her his secret.  I like her determination to finding out the truth.  Silly Edward, thinking she wouldn't feel the same way about him

It's good to know that others think I've got the characters right. I try really hard to keep them in character unless I change something purposefully to fit the story...could you see right away who was thinking what?!?!? LOL.

Yeah, this Bella, who has more years, life experience, and a kid to be responsible for is more mature about things and she realized that while Edward is definately hiding something from her, it's his secret to tell and she is in no place to try to force it out of him. He did just save her son, after all. But that's not going to stop her from doing her own investigation :)

And of course, Edward can't possibly think his life would go easy, could he? Then we'd have no story!

Loved Esme's line about her & Rose needing to learn to make cookies!

this is so awesome how you incorporated the accident scene with the one thing Bella loves more than anything Ben ,Edward saves him and of coarse it didnt help to make Newton out to look like a useless tool in the process =)

I love the accident scene and just had to throw it in there; but it was also the first main thing that happened to cause Bella to question Edward's humanity (if you want to get deep). And poor Mike, he reacted just like a regular ole human, thank goodness Edward was there to save the day! Crazy vampire stalkers can be good!

Oh poor Edward Rose will give him hell. Or maybe not because he saved a child?

I can't believe that I forgot to review the earlier chapters - I really had wanted to tell you before, how much I liked your story. Eric is clearly the monster and Edward the saint (but we knew that all along about Edward:)

I agree with another reviewer - the carcrash scene was very well done. Well everything is very well done - looking forward to the next chapter.
