This gives some insight to why Bella has such a hang-up about gifts and why before meeting Edward she had never had a boyfried. She kept to herself a lot, wears shape-hiding tomboy style clothing and no make-up. All subtle things to keep her un-noticed by men. This is something that actually is believable in accordance with the original story. I hope you continue it in the same fashion.
Author's Response: One of the nicest things about the review process is when people notice details that you didn't put in consciously. I never really thought about Bella's reluctance to accept gifts while I was writing, but you are correct, that could definitely be why. Thanks for your interest and for noticing the details!

I especially enjoyed your take on Emmett. He's sensitive and smart. I come across the stereotypical and highly inaccurate portrayal of the country hick too often. Thanks for sharing!!!

My hubby and I are looking at adopting from the foster care system. It was had to go through the training to hear what has happened to kids.

Author's Response: Definetly. The rest of the story is mostly Bella and Edward. I just needed Alice for a little prologue.
We'll have to wait and see if your guess is right! (The next chapter is written and with my beta, we're just getting it all fixed up so that I can submit it.)
