I believe it would have been incredibly difficult for Esme to talk to Bella about it, had they not gone through the same situations...but I think it was definitely theraputic and necessary for them to discuss her past...

Poor Esme. Bella is a lot like her more than she thought. At least they both have wonderful men in their lives. =)

Exactly the reason behind the chapter; I wanted to demonstrate how similar Bella really is to Esme, and how she can learn to overcome her past by taking a page out of Esme's book. Everyone will be getting together for lunch in the next chapter, and yes, Rosalie will get over her bitchy side and make amends...

When is James going to come back into the story. I really want it to be  when Esme and Carlisle are there so that Edward and Carlisle can beat the shit out of him. Or u should have bella become like a beasty Ninja person and like beat the shit out of him and then have Esme smack him and then have Edward and Carlisle beat him up again!

i just read your story for the first time and i'm in love with it, maybe because i love sleeping with the enemy and i also love twilight and i think it's really cool that you put the two together to make your story, the abuse scene's are pretty intense but then again they have to be because that how they are in real life as well unfortnalty and how you made esme a victim as well i think really helped in understanding why carlisle and esme were so willing to help, i do like that you used her orginal middle name as her first name and vice versa, also put a good twist on it i think, all in all this story i think is really great and i can't wait to see what else you do with it, one thing i would like to see if you even consider it that is, is that we find out who edwards real father is and what the hell he's been up to, of course that's up to you, anyway as i said before, i love your story, can't wait for the next chapter!!!

What a sweet "family" moment. Even though Bella's not really family ... yet ... Carlisle and Esme do a wonderful job of including her and making her *feel* like family. Love Bella's sincerity and appreciation as she settled into the revelation that had given her such a shock in the previous chapter.

Aww, that was really very sweet.  I really enjoyed reading this chapter =)  I think that this fic is very well written, many authors would not have been able to pull off a fic that is based on abuse like the kind Bella suffered.

About the abuse, I'm trying to show it in such a way that is realistic and necessary in the plot. Certain scenes of abuse aren't entirely necessary, so I choose not to add them in. It's nice to have your work praised, though. So thanks again!
