I love that Rose is finally starting to break down. This was a very fun and light-hearted chapter. Alice's response about milk and the lottery was awesome. Can't wait to see what plans Edward has made.

Angie

Author's Response:

The milk and lottery line was one of Kari's favorites as well. ;) Edward's plans are grand and even Alice has to admit he outdid her. It's lots o' fun. =)

I was enjoying that chapter...until Laurent :S

sigh... I really struggle with understanding/liking Jacob at all when he gets like this.

The only thing I can "allow" him is that he's only what, 16, plus a new shifter, which can't be an easy thing chemically, and teenagers are messed up enough with the often confusing responses to life by the changes they go through.

Still, it's sad to see him lose himself in the prejudices rather than learning and forming his own opinions.

I can only hope neither Edward nor Jacob are seriously hurt in what seems to be the inevitable confrontation. Edward's going to be distracted, which might make him an easier target than normal.

I'm hoping to see there's more "message boxers" in Edward's future ;)

Author's Response:

I have to agree. Laurent...well he scared the shit out of me. I knew he was going to be there in the woods, but he never revealed to me how FAR he planned to go with Bella. It caught me completely off guard. Jacob, well, he's a teenage boy dealing with all those raging teenage boy hormones. He's crushing on a girl that he's just learned is in love with his enemy, and this enemy is the reason his world has turned upside down ie: phasing and all. I don't like his behavior - but I can't say I don't understand it some. I agree, the prejudices need to be dealt with and this next chapter deals with a lot of that kind of thing on both sides of the treaty line. It's going to certainly be intense. I can't wait!!!!! My fingers are itching while I'm at work because I'd rather be writing. Thanks for sticking by me on this story and for the review. I never fail to appreciate it. =)

As in most of the books, I want to kick Jake's ass to kingdom come and tell him to piss off!  Lol.  What damn right does he think he has of what goes on between Bella and Edward?  Seriously!  I didn't always hate Jacob, like in Twilight the very beginning of New Moon he was a good friend and then he started pushing himself onto Bella emotionally and all that.  But once he started that crap my opinion of him flipped like a switch and I would of loved anything to get rid of him.

ANYWAYS, lol, you did a great job on this chapter.  Those boxers were hilarious; I just wished the could've been hot pants (they're funny enough) and had something else writting across his butt. :P

-Kristin

Author's Response:

Hahaha - I have to admit that the reactions to Jacob have kind of surprised me. He's not angry just because of Edward and Bella having sex. He blames Edward for Bella being unprotected in the woods - which really is his own fault. If he'd have just talked to her even one of the times she tried to reach him then she never would've been in those woods. I can't blame you for wishing there'd have been another message on the butt - but really Bella wasn't planning on taking the time to look. ;) Thanks for sticking by me on this journey and for reviewing. I never fail to appreciate it. =)

It is so nice to see Bella and Edward having some normal teenage tension and teasing. Bella is so determined to get her way. ;) Love Alice's helpful hints and Emmett's bluntness be up front. You're definitely torturing me. I wonder if I could find panties with field goal forks on them....

Angie

Author's Response:

I bet those panties are out there somewhere. Try Cafepress.com - they have just about everything. ;) I'm glad you like the "normalness" of Edward and Bella's courting, flirting and growing intimacy. I really wanted some of that in the books. Alice and Emmett are quite the comic relief to the sexual tension. True siblings there. ;)

Oh to be young and falling in love again. "swoons". Lauren and Jessica were right on target. Mike was funny. I'm guessing Badass Bella doesn't work at Newton's. Angela was always one of my favorite supporting characters (including the Angela in the movie). She kinda reminds me of me at that age, always trying to see the good in people. You've touched some very tough emotional spots for me in the last few chapters. Mistakes I made as a teen "in love". I'll admit, I'm still growing my spine, but I honestly feel that this story is helping me. Most love stories always revolve around doing anything for the one you love. They never mention how you have to love yourself, be your own person, before you can be apart of someone elses life. Just comparing your version to SMs proves how so much better a relationship can be if both individuals enhance the other, instead of overpowering or changing them.

Angie

Author's Response:

No, Badass Bella doesn't work at Newton's in this story. ;) Angela was always my favorite friend for Bella as well. She was the only one that seemed truly genuine and interested in Bella as a person not as the new girl. We all mistakes in love as teenagers, hell I know grown ups that make those same mistakes too. Wow - it's a huge compliment for you to say this story is helping you. It took me a lot to learn how to love myself despite all the bad things I saw in myself or heard about myself. I was quite the hellion and then there were always assumptions about me that were untrue. But it's always easier to believe the bad things isn't it?

Where's the box of tissues! Very touching. How did Esme become such the expert on relationships? Or is it that she just knows her "kids" so well. Saying that Edward and Bella were equals was brilliant. I had never considered that idea. I'm glad to finally see that Bella has a talent other than clumsiness and tolerance for weirdness. I'm really looking forward to see the "courting." That was all bypassed in the originals. I'm at that point where I can't stop reading even though I've got to get to work super early in the morning. I set all our computers to defrag Saturday and have to have them all rebooted and up and running before we open at 7:30.  Might have to pull out the drugs. ;)

I'm a fan of many genres of music too. Don't care for Bluegrass very much. I'm not the biggest fan of Death Metal, but Paul is and he's played in a couple of bands that were into it so I had to at least learn to tolerate it. I don't mind the music part of it, it's just the growling I don't like. BTW, I have a sister named Lisa.

Author's Response:

Ooops, sorry for the lack of tissue warning, Angie. I got chastised quite a bit for not warning people on this chapter. Esme was always portrayed as naturally maternal in the books, so I carried that over here. Not to mention she's been watching and paying attention to the both of them carefully - knowing they might just need a little push in the right direction. I was so relieved that people have had such a positive reaction to Bella's talent. I was worried people would think it was too convenient and too much, but I just elaborated in her "doodling" from the series and made it something more. I'm glad you felt it fit well. It annoyed me that Edward never courted Bella or even asked her on a date in the series so yeah - I had to change that. I'm so sorry that I've hooked you enough to cause a lack of much needed sleep, but I'm loving your reactions and reviews. It's a blast and utter joy for me to relive the story again through a new reader. Thank you so much for that gift. :)

Ew, I don't like Bluegrass either. Forgot about that one. Death Metal basically scares the shit out of me. People like Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, etc... I just can't even watch when they're being "normal." But I went to a strict Southern Baptist High School and was constantly told about music being from the devil. For example they told us KISS meant Knights In Satan's Service. Nice, huh? I'm not a huge fan of Kiss, but I like some of their songs and really don't care to know their religious preferences. To each their own.

OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! Bella and Edward did the deed! Amazing! So beautiful! But then Bella just HAD to run off to the reservation. Stupid Laurent... I should have known he'd show up somewhere in the story. I hope Bella is OK! And I hope that you send us another beautiful chapter really soon because the suspense is horrible!!!! Keep up the great work!

Beth

aka BethMasenCullen :-)

Author's Response:

Hey Beth! I'm giddy with excitement that you liked it so much. Yes, they finally did the deed which I totally thought Edward would back out at the last minute. For real. Laurent also surprised me because even though I knew he'd show up in the woods while Bella was waiting out Jacob - he didn't tell me he was going to go THAT far. Bastard! I'm super eager for the next chapter as well and hard at work at cranking it out. The time between updates will be much shorter than my last several chapters. I'm on a serious roll now - besides, things just became intense. A lot of testosterone bouncing around in the next few chapters. Thanks for sticking with me on this journey, reviewing, following me on twitter and everything else. I never fail to appreciate it. =)

I've been meaning to mention, I admire your song choices, many are some of my favorites. OMG! Dukes of Hazzard! I embarassedly admit I was at the opening of that movie. I loved Bo and Luke as a kid. Was not so impressed with the movie though, but I guess it was supposed to be a parody. Never knew the show was that cheesy until a watched a rerun a couple of years ago.

I did enjoy the movie with Quil and Jake. Very different direction, but fits well with the Badass Bella having male friends. I picked up in the last chap that Bella would be with one or more wolves causing Alice's holes, but now I'm beginning to wonder about Alice not seeing Bella cutting. Hmm.

So you were married the day before my first date with Paul. So your 6 year anniversary was the day before we got married. Amazes me what a small world it is. If you didn't see the Hyuandi Favre commercial during the Bowl, ya gotta go watch it. Favre 2020 MVP.

Angie

Author's Response:

Oh my gosh - I totally thought of you when I saw that commercial! I was wondering if you watched is as well, and then there was the other commercial where you only saw him from the back - it was an NFL draft commercial. I used to love Dukes of Hazzard growing up, and I agree - I had no idea how cheesy the show was until the "reunion" show. That was just sad. Alice and Bella discuss the "holes" in Alice's vision regarding Bella in a later chapter so I won't spoil you with an explanation. ;) The boys were fun at the movies though, I could totally picture them tossing popcorn at each other and ogling Jessica Simpson in her Daisy Dukes. Such boys. *eye roll*

I'm glad you like my playlists. As you can see - my musical tastes cover quite a vast array of genres. I love basically everything except techno and death metal. I have a little green notepad I keep with me at all times so I can jot down songs that will fit the story when I hear them. I overwork my poor ipod. It's on eight hours a day at my office and any time I'm in the car. At home it really only plays when it wakes me up in the morning as my alarm. I love my music. =)

It is a small world. We both got married in March - a day apart (well six years and one day apart). We're both married to former military/current cops. And we both obviously love Twilight. I wonder what else we have in common. ;)

Thanks. It surprised a lot of people, the least of which was Bella. The showdown will be intense. Thank you so much for sticking with me on this journey and reading and reviewing. I never fail to appreciate it. =)

Edward's flashback to the kiss was brilliant. Emmett is so much like my oldest brother, he just makes me LMAO. Yes, now I get the panties of the day. Bite This! Love it! Love it! Love it! Can't wait to get started on the next chapter. Hopefully, I'll be caught up by next weekend.

Angie

Author's Response:

Hahaha - thank you so much. I had to have some way for Emmett's taunting to get in there. I mean come one - it was a classic big brother moment. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it and of course Bella playing along was pretty funny. When he stepped in front of Rosalie as she went for Bella - THAT'S her punishment for Emmett. She knows that Emmett's natural inclination is to protect the women. He does it without thinking - the same way he teases without thinking. Rosalie isn't happy that he's fascinate by the Bella's underwear and that makes for lovely fighting and of course no sex for Emmett - the worst kind of punishment. Hahaha - I'm so mean. ;) I'm so glad you're now in the "know" regarding the underwear as there's plenty more messages to come. =)

Hopefully Jacob won't make an ass out of himself and force Edward into fighting with him.  I hope Bella is okay.  Glad Edward and Bella were finally able to be "together."  Enjoyed it.

Author's Response:

Thank you. I'm sure it's going to be difficult to keep the fur and fists from flying, but they're boys and will both probably make asses out of themselves over this. ;) I appreciate that you're sticking with me through this story and leaving reviews. I love it. =)

Well I waited one whole day before I read this chapter so that I wouldn't have to wait so long for the update.  This was goooooood, and I really enjoyed the lemon with Edward and Bella.  But please hurry with the update because now I have to find out how bad Bella is hurt ande what that crazy ass wolf is going to do!!!!!!

Author's Response:

Hahaha - I know my updates have been much longer than I would like for the last several chapters. I have good news though. This chapter will update much faster because I've actually known about the entirety of this chapter since the very beginning of the story. I just had to wait for everything else to play out up to this point so I couldn't write it until now. It's knee deep already and I'm typing as fast as I can because I'm so excited to finally get it down. Thank you for sticking by me and continuing to read and review my story. Applaud, Applaud! Edward is getting what he deserves. I just love Emmett's comments. I really enjoy the 3rd person point of view. Lets you see everyones thoughts. Wonder what Edward will do when he finds out about Bella's "Date" with Jake. Hmmm.

Our anniversary is March 14th. It was a Saturday. Did you get married in 1998? I've never been really superstitious. Always said that if a black cat crossed my path, I was lucky cause I didn't run over it. But my nephew was born on Friday the 13th and he had a ton of health problems. Glad your Friday the 13th has been such a blessing.

Angie

Author's Response:

Angie, did you know that almost no one writes in third person when it comes to twilight fanfic? I'm not the only one, but it's definitely a rarity. I didn't know that when I started. I only knew that it would be impossible for me to write this any other way as so many voices wanted to be heard. And I have to admit that I love it because of the exact reason you said: we get to see what everyone else is thinking/feeling.

I got married in 1992, so I'm about to hit my 18th anniversary. 1998 was the first year our anniversary hit on our actual anniversary as in on Friday the 1th. Sadly, AJ was deployed overseas. It especially sucked because I was six and a half months pregnant and he had another five months of deployment to go. But yes, the 13th and Friday the 13th have always been good numbers for us. Our first house in a brand new development didn't have addresses when we picked the lot to build on. Our addresses turned out to be 313. Almost every day AJ will call me in the afternoon at exactly 3:13 to say "Happy 313" - my daughter's number in history class (her teacher assigns a number to each student for her "system) is 13. Stuff like that happens constantly.

Awesome!  I do look forward to E & J's confrontation.  I'm sure lots will come out then.  And feisty little Bella will make for some great entertainment there too! :)  Can't wait for more!

Love ya!  xoxoxo :)

Author's Response:

Hooray - I'm glad my slight elaboration helped. Yes, Jacob and Edward's confrontation will definitely be intense. Lots of testosterone flying around and you know boys don't stop yelling long enough to listen to each other so it's going to take a while for them to "hear" each other even with Edward's ability. I'm glad you're excited for what's to come. =)

Reviewer: RobwardLover (Signed) · Date: February 07, 2010 01:39 PM · On: Chapter 26: Blindsided

Gah!  Jacob's being such a dick!  Can't he just accept that she chose someone else?  Guh!  Boys are so dumb!  Ok, this chapter totally rocked my world :)  The love scene was amazing!  It was good of Edward to trust Bella on all counts.  However, I have the feeling he might become just a tad controlling now after this happening...

Can't wait for more!!

xoxoxoxoxoxo :D

Author's Response:

Hahaha - your ire at Jacob cracked me up. It's funny how everyone thinks Jacob's anger is just because Bella chose Edward. I guess the next chapter will help clear some of that up. I mean sure - that's part of it but there's a lot of other reasons as well. And Edward might try to be more controlling, but we're talking about Bella here. She's got kickassedness and won't let Edward or anyone else try to control her. Now, whether or not she's successful? That's an entirely different matter. ;) Thank you for reading, reviewing, and I have to say for sticking by me on this journey. I appreciate it so much. The next chapter is in full swing and will not take as long for an update. =)

Reviewer: lovesurfer (Signed) · Date: February 07, 2010 01:37 PM · On: Chapter 24: A Trek, A Tree, and Titty Hard Ons

Lovely Lisa, sorry I've been MIA for so long RL has been crazy: first finals, then vacation with my sister -- who didn't let me around a computer long enough to read and review 'cause she claimed that we haven't seen each other in almost 11 months(which is true) and wanted to make the most of our time together-- and now finals again...I'm going nuts.

But let's get to this chapter, First of all Congratulations!!! 'cause this is an amazing chapter full of laugh and the common experiences of a large family(the sibling teasing, the parents reprimand, the concern for each other, the team work). I've read this twice, the first one when you just updated let me tell you that you made my day(as usually happens with your updates)It was a really stressful day I had a really important final and I failed so I was devastated when I got home and found your update you made my laugh and every thing seemed a lot better (Thanks bye the way!!!) and the second time well right now... I figured that before I catch up on my reading on this incredible story I would like to leave a review on this chapter and for that I needed to refresh all the details ;)

So here we go... can't believe that they put Bella in all those sleeping bags the visual of that has me near hysterical fits like the rest of the Cullens, it's just too funny! dear God Emmett needs to learn when to stop the jokes and the teasing(but like you said ‘ he is Emmett’), but I loved seeing how protective of Bella all of them are and of course seen Esme's maternal side 'reprimanding her little children' was nice.

Love the fact that Bella sees her becoming a Cullen as something good. I liked her conversation with Alice and then Rose about the drawings it was so deep and full of her true feelings. And Esme’s words of wisdom for Rose were just perfect.

A Neanderthal Edward, a gentleman Edward or no G-rated thoughts and playful Edward? Mmmm... difficult choice ;) hahaha think I’ll pick the last one please wrapped and with a ribbon ;)

Oh my...I enjoy so much Emmett’s songs and his duo with Bella was priceless (I’ve been singing that crazy song to my sister all Christmas eve and when she took me to the zoo to see the hippopotamuses a couple of weeks later I couldn’t stop laughing and singing it all over again XD I was feeling like a little girl again lol)

Their system to obtain their tree was really interesting, I like the way they work as a team... especially when things go ugly like when Bella fell from the tree, don’t wanna think what could have happened if Jasper hadn’t look up in time. And Bella calling Esme mom was the sweetest thing ever, it was completely natural for her I was so moved that had to rein back some happy tears.

I’m happy that Edward is coming around even though is not easy for him. And finally I’m so happy that they all fit together as a family!!!

I’ll run to next chapter can’t wait to see what awesome things are going to happen!!! As always hope real life is smiling at you, send you tons of...

Kisses. R.

PS: Love this story and hope the long review makes up for my little disappearing act ;) Bisou.

Author's Response:

Lovely Ru: You don't need to apologize. You have been busy and as you can see from the timeline between updates - so have I. Real life is a pain in the ass like that. Never enough time to the things we really want, but always demanding we find time for the things we don't want to do. Oh well. Your review made me smile so wide that my cheeks hurt. You know, my husband was a chaperone on my daughter's field trip to Disney's Animal Kingdom on Jan 14th and he brought me back a soft, fuzzy, stuffed hippopotamus thanks to that song. ;) I named him Herbert the Hippo (I call him Bert for short) and he sleeps in the bed with me on the nights my husband works. So, I can completely relate to the songs being stuck in your head. I'm so glad that the Christmas songs are now past and we've moved on - I know you're not quite there yet but soon. ;) You pointed out so many favorite things of mine in this chapter - the family bonding, the duet with Bella and Emmett, the slow thawing of Rosalie after seeing the drawings and of course Sleeping Bag Sausage Bella... I'm thrilled that you enjoyed it so much and I can't wait to hear what you think of the next chapter. It's a long one too - just to warn you. Actually the one after that (ch 26) which went up yesterday morning might be the longest of the story to date. Don't suffer eye strain my dear. It's a long read for one sitting. Just in case - here's more virtual eye drops for you and kisses for such an amazing review. Thanks for sticking with me on this journey. I love it and appreciate it so much.

That must have been a hard chapter to write. That was some pretty deep analysis on Edward's part. I almost knocked my lap top off the table when Edward fell out of the tree. High Five Bella for the show.

Author's Response:

Hey Ang - it was certainly a fun chapter to write. Watching Edward finally get it - get what Bella had been trying to tell him through her packages and face to face confrontation was just so great for me to experience. Then of course him falling out of the tree still makes me laugh; especially when I picture the WTF? look you just know he had on his face. Now you know how the whole message panty thing started. ;) I loved the fact she knew he was breaking the rules and peeping at her and strip teased a little for him anyway. The message panties in the anigif you sport in your sig are exactly like the pair from the chapter which is a pair I own - just in case you wondering. :p

I really loved this chapter...I just don't understand why Jake wants to kill Edward just because he had sex with Bella...he knows they're back togheter and they love each other...where's the problem?

Author's Response:

I feel the need to elaborate a bit: Jacob doesn't want to kill Edward because he had sex with Bella. He wants to kill Edward because he blames Edward for Bella being left unprotected, he wants to kill him for being a vampire because without the Cullen presence his phasing gene would never have kicked in again, and he wants to kill Edward because he believes that every moment that Edward is with Bella it puts her in danger. Jacob has only recently discovered that the Cullen are vampires - his natural enemy now that he's phasing. He hates that now even he can't be "normal" around Bella and can't tell her what's going on. He hates Edward Cullen and wants to kill him because he feels Edward has ruined every part of his life. So, it's not just about the sex - but yeah - he doesn't like that part either. I hope that helps clear things up a little. The next chapter really delves into all of that, but I wanted to answer your questions. Thank you for your review and curiosity. I appreciate it always. =)

Oh my Lisa, this was an amazing chapter!

There are so many parts that I love. I cried, and laughed, and screamed, and… twitched. ;)  Well, you know all about that.  Here is a part I didn’t say a lot about, but it wasn’t because it didn’t touch my heart.  You know how I am with words but I think I found a few this time.

When he smelled her blood when he broke her hymen was scary.  I held my breath for awhile until I remembered that it was ok for ME to breath.  It was intense!  He was already working so hard to careful and then the smell of her blood had to hit him square in the face!  WOW!

Fear clamped Edward’s heart as he truly believed that he was about to end the life of the one person he would die for.  Oh my heart, I can’t imagine the pain he was in, both physically and emotionally! Then Bella said his name and he was afraid to open his eyes because she would see the beast so close to the surface and be terrified of him.

Then he heard her voice softly say his name and he couldn’t resist opening his eyes to see her, even if it meant it would be the last time.   OMG  How heart wrenching was that?   Very!!!  But just the love in Bella’s eyes and in her voice was able to break through to him enough that he could realize that he could do this because it was Bella.

Blood he could find anywhere, but there was only one Bella in the world and she was sharing herself with him.  At that realization the beast slowly retreated…  Umm, WOW!  Just freakin’ WOW!  Then when he put the washcloth with her blood on it UP TO HIS NOSE?  Yeah!  And the beast just purred because it loves her now!

I didn’t say anything about it before because the only word I could find was WOW.  This seriously changes things now.  This is huge!  I’m dying to see what happens now that the beast loves her too.

Love you!

~Jen

Author's Response:

Oh my sweet Jen, your reviews never fail to make me smile. And yes, I actually forgot to ask you what you thought about that line that he could find blood anywhere, but there was only one Bella - as well as the beast purring in recognition that this was his soulmate. Now that Bella has tamed not only Edward but the beast as well, I have a strong feeling that shit's going to hit the fan when Edward walks into that hospital room and sees Jacob covered in Bella's blood. I think the beast is going to freak out as well and then we have Jacob ready to phase. Talk about a volatile situation! It's an extremely powerful thing to feel that kind of fierce love for someone else; to know that you would die for them without a second thought if it would bring them even one more moment of happiness. Jacob covered in Bella's blood is a formula for misunderstanding and somehow I don't think Edward will ask what happened before he reacts. It took a lot for him to reconcile the two sides of his self so that he could be with Bella and know that he wouldn't hurt her, and now that is threatened. We know Edward doesn't handle threats to the family or to Bella very well. Then there's Jacob and all his teenage crushing hormones, as well as, his newfound phasing abilities. He's always had a short fuse and if Edward reacts before getting facts blood and venom just might be spilled. DUN DUN DUN. Holy crap I need to get back to writing because just talking about it makes my fingers itch with excitement. ;)

LOVE YOU more than my luggage. Have you watched it yet? :p

Hooray! Another person that's fully a Team Edward kinda girl. After the NM movie a lot of people are jumping camp and I just don't get it. I'm glad you're still cheering them on and holy crow (as Bella would say) can you believe Edward didn't chicken out at the last minute? I thought for sure he would. For real. I was cheering out loud in my house when I typed that part out and realized he was going to actually follow through. It was rather embarassing actually. ;) I'm working on the next chapter now and the update for this one will be much sooner than the last several. Thank you for your read, your review, and for sticking by me throughout this journey. I never fail to appreciate it. =)
