Edward's learning. His reactions to Bella's artwork made me smile. He was so proud of her talent and he made sure she new it. He even managed to reveal that her hiding her passion for drawing hurt his feelings, but did so without making it all about him. Baby steps but important baby steps. I think he deserves a reward for his good behavior! :)
Author's Response: Thank you for noticing that Edward didn't make his hurt or reaction to Bella's artistic talent all about him. You're one of the few to notice that little detail. And you're correct, baby steps are extremely important for BOTH of them. Thank you for the continued reviews. I'm touched your wrapped up in the story so much. :)

I want Esme to adopt me, she's absolutely wonderful. Her response to Bella's artwork was dead on. I love how she acknowledged how the drawings spawned from Bella's pain over their leaving and in the same breathe hastened to reassure Bella it would never happen again. That no matter what happens between Bella and Edward that Bella is truly part of the Cullen family. Hopefully that acceptance will speed Bella's healing. I just wanted to say that the detail you used to describe Bella's drawings Made it seem as if I was seeing them on the page instead of just reading about them. You are the bestest.
Author's Response: I want Esme to adopt me too. I actually strive to be that kind of mother as my own was a nightmare and that's why I refer to her as my bio-mom. Anyway, I'm thrilled you felt Esme responded in the best way possible and let Bella know that she IS a part of the family now. Thank you for the comment on the details I described regarding the drawings. I went only from my own drawing experiences, but I did have a couple of professional artists make the same sort of comment. I'm humbled by your words and appreciate them, and the reivew so much.

Bella so should have lied and said the shirt was Jake's. It's so much fun to watch her yank Edward's chain! Poor Edward thinking with his jealous little hormones instead of his super speedy brain! As always can't wait to see what happens next. :)
Author's Response: Well, we all know Bella's a terrible liar, but in this case Edward's jealously just might have blinded him to the fact she was yanking his chain. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed this chapter as this was the chapter I had a few readers tell me they hated my version of Bella and thought she was just a bitch that should get over hereself. Don't worry - it clearly rolled off my back like water on a duck. haha Thanks for the review and I can't wait to see what you think of what's coming. =)

mmmmmm... good thoughts are happening now.... edward should make use of those handcuffs with Bella! 8O cuz woah that was hot!
Author's Response: Haha - I'm sure Edward will find some way to repay Bella for this round of tortuous pleasure. ;) Thank you so much for the review. I appreciate it.

L L L Lisa -
“Thank god,” Jasper’s thoughts reached him as he tore through the trees behind their house in his efforts to reach Bella. thank you ;)
Hey! I recognize parts of a song in here!
“Does watching me excite you, Edward?” She is so bad.
“Your scent is overwhelming in this room, Bella, and your teasing isn’t helping my frame of mind.” She’s not trying to help your frame of mind, sweetheart. *evil laugh*
She was purposefully trying to arouse him when she should be trying to help calm him of all of his ardent desires. Wow he’s quick. It’s like he wasn’t expecting her to purposefully try to…
“And I am going to arouse you, Edward.” Well, now that we’re on the same page. Ha
Perhaps if he wasn’t so tightly wound with desire and sexual frustration it would be easier to be here with her like this. Perhaps it would, but it wouldn’t be nearly as fun.
When she turned around there were two sets of handcuffs dangling from her fingertips.
HANDCUFFS! HANDCUFFS! HANDCUFFS! Um, that wasn’t me. Shhh. You’re the only one that reads this, right?
“I’m the daughter of a police chief, it’s not like they’re hard to come by in this house.” Since when are fuzzy handcuffs police issue…? Never mind, it doesn’t matter.
“You do realize that I’m a vampire, right?” Wait! You’re a what?
He needed to find his center and calm himself down. She needs you to find HER center and calm HER down.
“Edward…” she said, and the way her name fell from her lips so breathlessly nearly undid him completely.
“Come and take off the cuffs, Bella. Take them off and I’ll touch you.” New panties please!
When he saw goose-bumps raise against her skin he leaned forward, blowing a cool breath along her neck before pressing his lips to her skin. She straightened slightly and let out another moan as his tongue laved the delicious, delicate skin briefly. Ok, you know when you rub a dog’s tummy and its back leg kicks really fast? Yeah.
“Yes, baby, I know,” she agreed, and stroked him again. When he shook his head against her hair, she reassured him. “It’s okay, just let it go.” Yes! For the love of all of us, Edward, PLEASE just let it go!!!
Ahhh Now don’t you feel better? I know that I do. ;) I’m going to find a hairbrush and some … well that’s none of your business. Hahaha
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Love you like crazy!
~Jen
Author's Response: My Jen, My Jen, My Jen: Oh how I love your reviews. Yes, I threw that little line from Jasper in there just for you. Although he's heavily involved in at least the beginning of the next chapter and that's all his doing. So you might want to mentally prepare. ;) I knew you would appreciate the handcuffs, and although I know you know this - they weren't the fuzzy kind. Bella felt Edward needed the metal clink to remind him to remain an observer. Now, if he retaliates with fuzzy handcuffs, well....
The rest of all your comments were awesome and I was right there with you. I still need to read this chapter to AJ as the reviews are making him extremely curious about the hotness factor. haha
Thank you sweetie for the pretty words, the enthusiasm, the excitement, the conversations we have, the support - and so, so much more. You're the best and I love you.

Wow! All I can say is... wow! Reading something like that is fun, but it sure doesn't help on overly warm spring nights! Not that that stops me...
Can't wait to read more!
Author's Response: You've intrigued me - overly warm SPRING nights? If you don't mind, what part of the world do you live in? I'm experiencing excessively hot and humid end of summer days and nights myself and you're right - I need my own bowl of ice to cool down while writing this chapter. ;) I'm thrilled you enjoyed it so much and I really appreciate your continued reviews on each chapter. Thank you.

Great chapter! I loved it, and I love seeing Edward loosen up some. I'm always annoyed with the way he views himself sometimes that it's nice to see his barriers coming down. Keep up the good work and please write more soon!
Author's Response: I'm so thrilled that you enjoyed it so much. Yes, Edward does like his angst doesn't he? He makes me want to tear my hair out sometimes as just when I think he's making progress he starts up with the "I'm a monster and don't deserve her..." crap again. Thankfully, he didn't back out of Bella's experiment even though I'm sure he was more scared than he had ever been in his immortal life. Thank you so much for reading and for the lovely review letting me know your thoughts on this chapter. I always appreciate it.

I really am so proud and excited for them and cant wait to see Edwards retaliation, i see bondage and lots of teasing going on, lol. Cant wait to see where they take us.
Author's Response: Ooooh - sorry to get you hot and bothered at work. *snicker* Will it help if I send a dose of virtual ice cubes? What if just send Edward - I bet that would help. haha I'm thrilled you liked the chapter so much, and I think you're right that Edward's turn will be intense and um.... enjoyable. It's in the works now and I've repeatedly had to take breaks and take advantage of my husband. hahahahaha :) Thank you so much for reading and for your lovely thoughts on the chapter. Lisa ~ Okay, now that I have my brain back!
I loved the hair brushing - one of my favorite things and so overlooked by the male population as an erotic stimulus! Go Edward!
I also loved how they both made themselves vulnerable to one another and showed their new level of trust in one another - Bella with her allowing Edward to watch (with a couple of precautions - handcuffs! * snicker * If Charlie only knew to what use they were being put!) And Edward with allowing himself to let go all the way - no matter how embarrassing - that was huge for him. Glad he's coming back to cuddle!
Keep up the awe-inspiring writing! I'm always so happy to see your alerts in my inbox!
~ Krista
Author's Response: Hello again Krista, I'm so glad that I didn't do permanent damage to your brain. ;) I agree that a lot of men don't know how much of a turn on brushing a woman's hair can be. I'll admit that when my husband runs his fingers through my hair from scalp to ends - I'm practically putty in his hands; especially when he massages my scalp. With my migraines it feels like heaven and is usually the only pressure I can handle on my head at that point. Ooops, didn't mean to get carried away like that. haha Anyway, I'm thrilled that you recognized and appreciated how even though Bella was making it "all" about Edward, it really was a display of trust and vulnerability on BOTH sides. And you're right - it was huge for him to just let go and allow that release. I think that hit home for him more than anything else, that even when the white hot throes of passion overtake him - he won't hurt her. Thank you so much for your lovely review - the first one and this one. I always appreciate it.

Presents are customary at Christmas. Edward doesn't have to purchase Bella's present....
'Rounding Second' was perfect for this chapter. Edward was definitely getting motioned on to third! From all of us, I think!!
Great job with your first lemony encounter. I'm sure there will be cold showers all 'round when Edward gets his chance to return her attention. Woohoo.
Author's Response: Hahaha - the gift of a mind blowing orgasm would be great, but it's not what Edward has in mind for Bella's christmas present. He's rather sentimental you know. ;) Besides, I'm not sure he can wait until Christmas. The next chapter is in the works and once again, Christmas is nowhere in site. haha I'm so glad you felt this was a well done lemony treat. I'll admit I was nervous. I wanted it to be a good read, but I didn't want to veer away from where the characters were at this point in their relationship. I'm glad you felt I managed it fairly well. Thank you so much for your lovely thoughts and continued reading. I always appreciate hearing from you.

Awesome!!! The detail in your writing is unbelievable! That was so good, and I love how Bella is taking charge and going after what she wants. Well thank goodness Edward finally got some relief for Jaspers sake and for his own. I like the pace of this story and love the long chapters. Well I just have to say you rocked that chapter!!! (That chapter deserves more than 10 stars but since that is all it will let me give I guess I have to settle for 10) Melissa
Author's Response: Hey Melissa - I'm so thrilled you loved it enough to wish for more than ten stars. I've been a bit blown away by the response as there wasn't any explicit "sex" in this chapter. I guess people can appreciate a good build up and hot sexual teasing as much as the bump and grind. haha I think Jasper was probably ready to sing the Hallelujah chorus when Edward left the house to head to Bella's. *snicker* Can't say I blame the poor guy, but I'm sure Alice has been appreciate the extra attention from Jasper. Thank you so much for reading, for leaving me such lovely reviews, and for playing on the boards with me even on our silliest of days. :) I cherish you.

Damn, you sure know how to ratchet up the sexual tension! Good gravy, that was hot enough to fry eggs! Whew! *fans face*
I predict Edward's going to have a hard (*snerk*) time with Bella's sleeping habits tonight. I don't see her calming down any time soon, so she's going to have some interesting dreams. Lucky girl.
I think payback's going to be a bitch. And I can't wait to read it!
Author's Response: Good gravy! That's another one I haven't heard before. Another reader said Holy Hannah which was also new to me. :) I'm thrilled you enjoyed it and here - I'm waving a large palm frond over you to try and provide a cool breeze. ;) Hmmm, you may be correct that Edward will have a bit of trouble holding Bella in his arms while she sleeps tonight - especially if she starts to talk in her sleep during an explicit dream. *wink* Thank you so much for the kind thoughts and I agree - I think Edward will return the "favor" in spades. :)

I love Charlie. His fear that Bella will be hurt again when she has only just begun to heal makes him a little blind where Edward is concerned. But you know his heart is in the right place. So glad that Bella has him on her side seeing how Renee was always pretty useless. Cudos to Edward for facing Charlie head on.It's got to be scary to approach your scorned girlfriend's father espacially when you know that he's armed and dangerous!
Author's Response: You know, my father was somehow cleaning (well, pretending to clean) his shotgun every time I had a first date with someone with the ironic exception of my husband. For some reason, that was the only time in my dating history that my father was cordial. Now I knew it was fate that my husband and I were supposed to be together - but how did my father know? Charlie reminds me a lot of my father. Protective and not really sure how to help, but wanting ultimately wanting his daughter to be happy. I think his conversations with Edward was much needed. Charlie has never gotten over Renee, so he knows that it's not over between Bella and Edward but as a father he can't let it go without at least giving Edward his best warning. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it and understood the importance of that conversation.

Edward falling out of the tree was the funniest and most unexpected thing I've ever read! Go Bella and her bad boy panties. Love her when she's downright devious. Loved the interaction between Carlisle and Edward, it really showed the depth of their father/son relationship. Hope to see more moments like this with Edward and his family,I think it really helps us to understand Edward a little more.
Author's Response: Hahaha - yes, I still laugh when I think about Edward falling out of the tree. No, really I do and I think it's because the look of shock that must have been on his face that he actually fell would've been a winner on funniest home videos or something. ;) That moment is among the most favorite things my readers have told me they like about this story. That chapter and Bitch Slap were definite turning points for the Cullens in their understanding that Bella was kicking ass and taking names. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the Carlisle/Edward conversation as it was totally unplanned. Those two completely hijacked my outline and told me I couldn't write a thing until that happened. Whatever. I learned long ago to not argue when the voices are being stubborn. haha After I got it written I had to concede that they did in fact know what was best for that chapter, even if it's hard to admit. *wink* There are many more family interactions throughout the story as I've always felt the entire Cullen family dynamic was central to why we all love these characters so much and I didn't feel that it was something really being told. Thank you so much for your thoughts on this chapter - I was eager to see your reaction to Bella's panties and Edward's unexpected reaction to seeing those panties. =)

Edward's reaction to bella's cutting totally wrecked me and my mascara. Their confrontation was everything I wanted to see in New Moon. Bella finally told Edward how his abandonment made her feel and threw the blame on him for deciding what's "best" for her. I hope Edward really does learn to listen to what Bella wants and needs.
Author's Response: I'm sorry about the mascara massacre, but I'm also thrilled that you enjoyed the chapter so much and feel that it captured everything missing from the confrontation scene for NM. I appreciate you letting me know what you thought and how you felt in this chapter. :)

NOT THE SHOES!!!! You totally rocked this chapter! I wish Bella could have had an opportunity like this in New Moon. The family's reactions to Bella's cutting made me tear up. Great job. Now bring on Edward!
Author's Response: I have to admit that the destruction of the shoes (which did you follow the link and look at them? OMG!) was particularly heartbreaking for me. I'm relieved it appears you took a break to get some sleep. I'm wordy - I know - so those chapters can be more of undertaking than most realize. I'm so glad you that you liked the way Bella handled the family. They deserved it. Thank you so much for your continuing reviews. I appreciate every single one. :)

He has to learn to trust himself and to understand that's all Bella is asking him to do. They can learn as they go.

You have been crowned the Smut Princess!!! I loved this chapter! However, you did scare me for a minute there when Edward wanted to suddenly comb her hair. I was screaming...Hairbrush?? NO!!!! It wasn't time to play beauty shop!! LOL!!
Anywho...I'm just glad that Bella showed him that he does have the self control that he felt he lacked. Gold star for Edward!!! Shay-shay is very proud of you. :)
Love ya,

Author's Response: Haha - beauty shop. As if. I'll have you know my love that hairbrushing can be an extremely sensual experience - as I think Edward and Bella proved. ;) I know that when AJ runs his fingers through my hair from scalp to ends I want to purr like a pussy....cat.
