I love this story, it has been my absolute favorite from the beginning, and I get all fuzzy when you update. I've never read Jasper's point of view done so well and insightful as you have done--amazing. You've brought him to places with Edward that I don't think any other writer has.

Haha - yes, this has turned into a little love fest hasn't it? For me, when I'm writing a story the characters become very real. I can hear them in my head, often keeping me up all hours of the night, and I really have no choice but to write what they tell me. If I try to write the story the way that I want - the voices just stop talking. Now, to anyone that doesn't have this sort of them happen to them - well, they think I'm a bit crazy. ;) A lot of writers know exactly what I'm talking about though. So yeah, dissection of the characters totally fuels that creative energy because it means with each new layer that's peeled away I get to see yet another facet to who I'm writing. I love it. :)

Yeah-as soon as he opened her drawer I knew it was the return of my favorite message panties!!  Nice serious talk with Jasper.  The books don't touch enough on the loss of friendship that Alice felt when Edward made them all leave.  Dare I say that with the next chapter we will all be exploring a little oral lovin'!!  Ahhhh....I guess I can be patient.  Good work, as always!

   I love love love love LOVE this chapter!  It left me all hot and horny, and there wasn’t even a lemon.  I’m such a sucker for Jasper.  Woah that sounded dirty!  That made me giggle.

 

   Poor Edward wants to get back to Bella, but Jasper’s in the mood for a chat.  Haha   Seeing Jasper sitting there in that relaxed position with his clasped hands on his long outstretched legs raised my heart rate, but then he opened his eyes and oh mama!

 

   “I can feel your anxiousness and your worry, Edward." *quiet squeal* He talked… well, he thought, but you get the idea.

 

  “We’re truly alone.” Look at me and say that again.

  “ Alice has persuaded everyone else to leave not only the house, but also the area so that we wouldn’t be overheard.”  I swear to you, I just want to talk.  Oh right, it’s not about me.  Ok

 

   "When Jasper wanted to talk, there wasn’t a way around it."  No kidding!  Lisa’s been losing sleep and getting headaches and everything.  I wanted to be mad at him but she wouldn’t let me.  That’s just how she is.

 

   Then you have him throwing sexy as hell amused expressions and wry smiles my way… or Edward’s way… it doesn’t matter, either way you’re trying to kill me.  I’m ok with it though.  And then he spoke!  OMG did you hear his voice?!  Yyyuuummmy!  Calm, low but not too low, slight Texas drawl, and a bit amused at the moment.  There’s something else about his voice, but I can’t find the right word to describe it right now, but damn it gets me all wet and wiggly!   *shiver*

 

   “To watch day after day as another piece of the one person that I stay on this earth for disappeared in a sea of despair over the loss of her best friend.” Jen’s crying again. *rolls eyes & shakes head*

 

   “You hurt the most important person in the world to me, Edward.” That did it. That brought the big tears.  Lisa, the pain in his eyes is killing me.  Yeah, I have my hand on my heart and I’m sniffling.  Goal met.  When Jasper told Edward that he would take him down if he ever hurt his girls again my girly parts got twitchy and my mouth watered.  My eyes got big and my tummy got tight.  He hadn't changed his position and he seemed just as relaxed, but he was very much the vampire right then.  I wanted to cautiously back away, but my accelerated heart rate was not because of fear.  He was being fiercely protective and it was hot as hell!

 

   “So you’re risking the wrath of your wife…” I like it when she’s referred to as his wife, and vice versa.  And when he says it it’s sexy as hell.

 

   “I meant you need to cherish her like a woman.”  Lisa, I’ve been trying to not say naughty words and DHG stuff, but I don’t know if I can do that for much longer.  Jasper saying, “cherish her like a woman,” has my heart beating faster and… let’s keep reading.

   Jasper looked up at him with a grin that was all male satisfaction. “Oh, believe me, Edward, there’s something quite pleasurable about causing your female to lose her focus.” Shit!  fffffffuh   ggguh    Warm Wet Screamin’ & Shakin’!     How does he DO that?  *shiver*

  

   “And something tells me you’re dying for a taste of her any way you can get it.”  *scream laugh*

   “Shit,” Jasper mumbled as Edward’s lust spiked suddenly. “Did you taste her?”  “That’s none of your business,” Edward snarled, but the reaction answered Jasper’s question anyway.  This is where I was kicking my feet & scream-gasp-squeal-laughing!  Oh, I need to breathe!  I don't know if he knew he was doing this, because they were both feeling the lust, but Sexy Vampire Man was definitely projecting that lust!  I sure felt it!  Explain, please. <-Jasperism  How and why does he do this to me?  How and why do YOU do this to me?  Yeah, I hear you laughing.

 

   Edward’s reaction when he opened Bella’s underwear drawer was hilarious!

   “How many licks does it take to get to the center?”   *squeal laugh, clapping, and bouncing*  OMG  He’s totally drooling venom all over her message panties! Hahaha!

 

   Oh my heart! <- Jenism?  I just HAD to put that in. ;) The way he held her and thought about the love he had for her, and the ways she has changed his world was so beautiful.  Yes, I cried again.

 

Anyway, I loved this chapter, and not just because of Major Whitlock. ;)  Why did I just salute? Ok, I’ll stop!  Thank you for more than you’ll ever know!  Love you, girl!

Jasper rocks my world.  I never really understood why I love that character so much, but he and Alice are by far my favorites in the series.  You're doing him justice-- this was amazing.  I hate stories that have him painted as cold and unemotional.  You're not doing that, and it's great.

Hello again, Lisa ~

I am actually reviewing twice!  Can you believe it?  I read the chapter again and was struck by different things than the first time (guess that's why I love reading the Saga over and over as well!)  First, I want to say that while we all want to get back to Bella as soon as possible, I definitely think Edward needed this talking to from Jasper, because as Bella says in NM "It's not as if you [Edward] hadn't thought it through before [leaving her],  [He could do it agian]- "You'll do what you think is right." 

Jasper needed to make it clear to Edward that if he decided to go that route again that the family would stay with Bella rather than him.  I think it makes Edward realize that no matter what he thinks is right for Bella, he's not the only one who gets to make decisions any more.  Bella's views are going to be taken into account as well whether he likes it or not - because she fought back for him and the family, they are now equals in everyone's eyes - she's shown how strong she is!  I love how Jasper refers to the doll when making that point! :)

Jasper may never have thought he'd feel this way about a human - but how could she have not gotten into his heart when she decided to "torture" him by making him stay close to her and to show him she trusted him not to hurt her.  It worked the same way as it did with Edward in Twilight - she made herself vulnerable and said "I trust you" and it made each of them a stronger man (and vampire) because of it.

While some people may see this as a "filler" chapter, I disagree.  I think we need this type of chapter to show the depth of growth of ALL of the characters which makes Bella and Edward's time more poignant because part of the reason they are so perfect together and for one another is because she accepts them all - the whole family - with her human love and trust she shows them all that they are accepted for who - not what - they are.  And later, the fact that she voluntarily chooses to become a vampire like them, shows them all that maybe their existence isn't unnatural or evil or a monstrosity.  I guess that's real magic behind the story and why we can read it over and over and then read 40 different fan fictions in all of their variations and still be hungry for more!

Wow, that turned into a really long review (and lecture) where did that come from?  Guess your story makes me um...passionate?  I also like that Edward puts her socks on her - so sweet!  And about the upcoming movie - you may have ruined me for New Moon in general - it was my least favorite to begin with (even though I do love Jake) because I thought Bella was too passive.  No offense to SM, but I like your version of events better!  But I am sure I will still go see the movie several times anyway.  I have been pimping you out to several new Twilight fans - hope they come your way soon!

Wow Krista. Just Wow. My jaw dropped open the moment I read saw the thought you put into this review. Aside from being humbling, it's also quite amazing because I had a reader on the forum thread ask me what Jasper and Bella's connection is based on. Why he's willing to fight his own brother to protect her. She recognized that it's not romantic love, but what caused such a powerful reaction in Jasper. Here was my answer:

Jasper and Bella's relationship is not just based on the fact that she never blamed him, although that's a huge part of it. Bella is not just a unique human because of the scent of her blood. She also has this quality of acceptance and loyalty that is quite staggering in its reality to not just Jasper, but all the Cullens. They've never encountered a human, or vampire, with the qualities that she has. So yes, Jasper feels drawn to her because of her steadfastness in believing in him, her acceptance of the creatures that they are, the peace she has brought to Edward, the joy she has brought to Alice, and the love she shares with them all.

Being loved by Alice was the first time that Jasper was accepted unconditionally. He'd never experienced something like that - not in his human existence and certainly not in his vampire existence - prior to walking in that diner. Can you imagine how puzzled he was the day he met Alice? To feel such complete and utter love for him from a stranger?

He felt that unconditional acceptance again from Bella. The Cullens, while they do love him and they do think of him as part of the family, have still always felt that hesitancy when it comes to Jasper. Will he be strong enough to follow their lifestyle? Will he be able to control his thirst? It's only with Alice and with Bella that he can just be. There's no walls, there's no defenses to put up. They both love him and accept him - flaws and all. Alice as a lover and soulmate. Bella as a sister.

True acceptance can be an extremely powerful connection. So that's where this protectiveness and love for Bella come from.

Now having said all of the above, that acceptance does ripple out to include every single member of the Cullen family and it is why she has had such a profound effect on their lives. This human. This weak, fragile girl has shown a strength of spirit that rivals their own. She deserves their attention and their love just as much as any one of the current family members. So yes, I agree with everything you said and I adore you for such a beautiful and touching review. Sorry for my own long dissertative reply. I adore you. :) Thank you so much.
