I got through it and Lord knows it was tough, I had to look from the screen to gather myself but I kept reading. I know the next couple of chapters are going to be harder than this one but Carlisle's description of Bella was just heartbreaking. I was kindof figuring that he would go with the Broken Heart Syndrome but I didn't know for certain if that was gonna be brought up...Update SOON PLEASE!!!!!
Author's Response: Well, the *next* chapter isn't tough at all, thankfullly. I put it in to give you a break before the hell of Edward seeing Bella hits. I'll have the next chapter up soon.

Great chapter! I'm glad we heard from Carlisle about how Bella really looked! It's a complete shock and I can't wait to see Edward's reaction! I have a feeling he will have a hard time keeping it together!

Poor Carlisle, and oh my God, poor Bella. The mental image of what she must look like is horrifying. And they are in such a catch-22. She desperately needs Edward to get better, but the second she sees him she is going to stress, which is the last thing she or the baby needs. Maybe when Edward goes to see her in her unconscious state, his presence will somehow get through to her and she will take some comfort in that, and her heart and body will start to heal.

Oh dear God, I am in tears. The whole broken heart syndrome is well.....heartbreaking. I am going to be so torn up when Edward finally sees her. Oh and I don't even want to think about when Charlie sees her again. Can't wait for the next chapter.

Oh...wow...This is a tough chapter. With all the medical tests, equipment, medicine, etc. it's amazing that they can't find anything more to attribute the conditon to other than a broken heart and malnourishment! Damn doctors! I liked the part about Carlisle having a hard time seaprating himself from the human/father side to the doctor side. Good wriiting. Hope that Edward doesn't do more damage than good when he goes in there. Is she really unconscious or faking it? Amazing that a baby can survive in all this drama. I guess that's the point, isn't it? It is almost impossible to separate a broken heart from incubating a healthy baby. Wow. Can't wait to read more!

Yup, I needed Kleenex for this chapter. Although I am not surprised by what Carlisle saw.I figured she was not eating very well but not to that extent. I hope she will be ok and the baby as well. Broken Heart Syndrome..wow sounds about right.
Thanks for the heads up about needing the Kleenex. Update when you get a chance. I am sure we will need more tissue once Edward get to see her lying in the bed.

Can't wait to read Charlie's reaction. He is gonna be SO pissed at Edward! How are they going to move forward? Charlie has to understand that it wasn't all Edward's doing, he isn't completely at fault and Bella was the one to run away and isolate herself.
Is Bella just gonna accept him right off the bat? She better be a little pissed. She's been through a lot and I can only hope that she makes him pay somewhat. I know she still loves him and they belong together but going through this away from family and most of her friends and then add the despair and loneliness, he needs to pay a little.
PLEASE don't name the baby reneesme (spelling?).
