You know you don't have to urge me to comment with all those 'Cullens incentives' - the story is just too good to need them. I mean it.

As for the chapter, if I were in Charlie's place, Edward wouldn't survive, I swear. I have a daughter, and I know I would murder anybody who dared do anything like that to her. Yeah, I'm one of those crazy overprotective moms and I don't give a shit 'cause my child has only me to protect her from this world and all bastards in it (no, I'm not talking about your Edward here)

Charlie restrained himself nicely, I think.  I mean, that's a lot to absorb for a dad with NO prior knowledge of what was going on with his daughter.  Hell, I'd have been rabid.  But, I think he'll come along nicely and pleasantly surprise you.

this chapter did pull at my heart.  Poor Charlie, but I'm sure he will eventually realize Bella needs Edward.

This was just Charlie's knee jerk reaction to what had to have been a completely overwhelming situation for him.  I think his actions through the rest of the story might surprise you.

I can understand Charlie's rage but he don't know all the facts.

Despite everything that happened and how  badly it was handled, Edward did leave to protect Bella.  And being what he is, he wouldn't have known that he could get her pregnant.  Everything that has happened was not only his fault, Bella reacted too strongly, and in some cases foolishly, and part of the blame for how she is now is hers.  And knowing everything, his family should support him, afterall, they left too, regardless of what he told her, they could have stayed - but family comes first and they also wanted to protect Bella.

If I were the Cullens, I would just let Charlie break his hand on Edward's marble skin, and just tell him everything, afterwards.  Everything is not black and white.

I know that this may be heartless but sometimes this type of wake up call is needed.

I agree whole heartedly that Bella also overreacted and is partially to blame for this situation and I do think you will be surprised by how Charlie handles this in the end.  This was just Charlie's knee jerk reaction to an overwhelming situation.

I did want to mention, though, that this is an all human story, alas, so there Edward and Bella did know he could get her pregnant and there's no rock hard skin to break hands on!  But the rest of the points you make are excellent!

Wonderful chapter. Poor Charlie, he's such a sweetheart, I love him. I think Stephanie should have created aome gourgeous girlfriend for him, I mean, why can Bella's mum get Bill and Charlie is all alone and still in love with his ex wife (though that makes him even more of a sweetheart). Anyway, you rock, you know it :)
