It was like watching a fucking train wreck.
Yeah Rosie, and I feel like the train just hit me! I really adore how you switch POVs to tell the story and bring new insight into the plot and themselves. This chapter brings back last year's memories of my 5yo in an isolation ward almost comatose with menigo-encephalitis and very slim prospects of recovery, and I feel for their helplessness. Facing loss of a loved one (and a young life in particular) makes you re-evaluate yourself and something like this has major ramifications to all your friends and family. My little boy was lucky, he got his 1 in 3 chance of a full recovery ... you want to hope, but the fear is overwhelming.

Author's Response: Ah, the duet chapter. When I wrote it, I pictured them singing to each other from different sides of a wall. I know that seems silly, but it's just what went through my mind as I wrote!

I would have broken out of the joint, found Edward, beaten him to a pulp, grabbed him by his junk and dragged him back to Forks and handed it back to Bella.
Dammit where were you Jasper when we needed you!? probably without this story, but we wouldn't want that. In love with your version of Jazz, I hate the laid back Jasper - bring on the hothead - it fits! since he did attack Bella and props for the nods to canon about whether he'd be safe around humans...!
Author's Response: My Jasper seems to have his own fanclub. Personally, I have a bit of a crush on Potty!Mouth!Jasper. I never was going to have him play a big role in the story, but after this chapter, he just... wormed his way into the story. He narrates quite a lot of it in the future.
He's just... him. He's so straight forward and has no problem telling it like it is.
With all of the characters in this story, I went with their biggest canon characteristic and just put my spin on it. Angela was loyal and truthful. Carlisle was strong and noble. Edward was an over-reactor but deeply in love. Emmett is a goofy teddy bear but very perceptive. Esme is the quintessential mother. And Jas... he's so perceptive. In the books and movie, he doesn't have much of a voice. I just gave him one:)

Way to go Ange, and ouch that smackin' gotta hurt. She can see he loves her still, and he has suffered too. She's the best, and she asks all the hard questions. Wish I had a friend like that.
Cmon Eddie, man up, lets get that sex hair back....
