this is very powerful, wow...

Author's Response: Thanks, I think! It was a tough chapter to write and I think it may have been one to read. I'm so grateful that you read and reviewed.

OMG, My Edward has it bad, I had tears in my eyes reading this!  I love this character so much and he is carrying the weight of the world now but I know he has to to get  thru this! How I wish Bella would just at least want to talk to him now.  I can't wait for their talk!  Love your story so much!

Author's Response: He is carrying the weight of HIS world - the fear of losing what he just found in both Bella (again) and Elizabeth. Bear with me. I will set this right. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

i mean of course we all want their first conversation...but i would also l,ike their wedding...a family gathering like at christmas or another holiday...elizabeth and school...just a family day with the 3 of them...maybe further down the road and having another child...something with emmett just because we all love him...and lots of fluff!!! I cant wait to see what you will come up with. whatever it is it will be fantastic!

Author's Response: Oh, you will get their first conversation and the resolution of their relationship before we hit the epilogue! I'm just fishing early! Thanks for reviewing!

Epilogue: Edward and Bella going to college, happily married with Elizabeth.

Alice and Jasper still together, Jasper worked out his issues.

Rose and Emmett together though I would be interested with how these two go at their life.

Carlisle and Esme sad that their children left but was optimistic about the future.

Edward, Bella and Elizabeth visits Charlie often.

Author's Response: All amazingly good ideas! I think many of them will make their way in there at least in part! Thanks so much for reviewing!

Poor Edward!  He always internalizes and assigns all the blame to himself.  He has such a supportive family and yet this behavior seems to defy his obviously loving upbringing.

Author's Response: I think it's just some people's nature to internalize and brood, regardless of their nurturing. Let's just hope Edward can overcome and follow Carlisle's words. Thanks for reviewing!

*hugs* Brokenward makes me cry :(

Author's Response: He's so sad and pathetic! He needs a hug!

In reply to your question about what Alice should name the little girl, I'm thinking something very fashion-y, i.e.  Chanel, Christiane (add the e to make it a girl name), Carolina, etc.  I didn't mean for them to all be "C"s, but it just kind of worked out that way.  LOL  Just my 2 cents worth!  LOL  : )

Author's Response: LOL! You're definitely on my wavelength! Thanks so much for reviewing!

boohoo poor edward

Author's Response: He's not having an easy time! Thanks for reviewing!

Ok, I swear I thought I had reviewed this yesterday...only to check and see I hadn't! :O Never takes me this long...lol!

Poor Edward! Sigh! That whole talk with Carlisle...clinging to him and crying and...guh! It's not going to be easy...will take a lot of time....but things will work out. Carlisle was right...deep down Bella is scared and doesn't really know what to think.....but she would NEVER keep Edward from his child. And eventually...she'll forgive him for all that happened...but damn if that didn't make me cry reading!

BTW...I kinda heart Emmett making goofy faces at Elizabeth...totally giggled reading that!

I LOVE your idea for the epilogue...hmm...let me think on it...

Author's Response: YAY! Now two people have commented on Emmett and Elizabeth! I loved that part! Honey, don't ever worry about taking time to review, or even reviewing at all! I'm so glad to have you support both here and on the thread. Think away, love! Ellie

Omg! I'm loving it! I stayed up till almost 4 AM this morning to read all 37 chapters, I couldn't go to bed till I was done, you had me hooked from the first chapter! I so can't wait for the next update! Excellent job!!

Author's Response: Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I'm so glad you like it and so appreciate your review!

Can Jazz gain a psych degree and work in the institution as the coolest fucking doctor ever to have passed through its hallowed halls, fixing up the sad and mental miscreants of society... whilst nodding his head, playing his guitar and muttering that it was worse in there in his day!!!  Can Alice NOT be anything remotely fashionista??  I would love to see her have a normal job... like a medical secretary, or trust administrator or phlebotomist or something menial like that!!!  She also needs one humongus Great Dane which stands to her shoulder!!!

B & E of course, must sort out their pitiful existences and get married and open a coffee shop where Elizabeth hangs out after school with her wickedly cool 'rents learning to play the digeridoo!!!

Rosalie and Emmett undergo fertility treatment and end up having octuplets!!  All babies are fine (if underweight and early) and neither of them can work, thereby sponging off the government whilst living in their council house taking care of all eight babies.  These are identical boys (ha ha).  Rosalie names them all after her favourite cars.... Lincoln, Morgan, Austin, Bentley, Holden, Morris, Jenson and Aston.  Rose is perpetually tired, but Emmett loves the fact that her tits are the size of blimps!!!

Carlisle and Esme, sell their house and fuck off fast... sorry, I mean retire to Isle Esme after the octuplets are born, never ever wanting to be grandparentally obliged to babysit eight boys!!!!

Angela & Ben buy a nice house in the middle of nowhere and strike oil!!!!  Woohooo!!!  They never have to work again, and spend all day every day in a sex haze!!!  Every now and then, they visit their god daughter (Liz) and jam with the digeridoo man in the coffee shop!!!

Charlie.... after all is said and done, raids the county lockup for a stash of weed, pops over to Billy's place and tokes up a peace pipe!!!

How is that for possible Epilogue-y goodness????

Author's Response:

Oh. My. God. I think I'm so f-in in love with you, I could have your virtual babies. Maybe even octuplets! NONE of those ideas fit with the story, but they make me want to write that fricken fic like RIGHT now. Holy HELL. I am framing this review. I am thinking about naming it "Cullen Clusterfuck"... Thank you, thank you, thank you. You made my review-answering day.

Reviewer: AliciaZA (Signed) · Date: September 11, 2009 07:51 AM · On: Chapter 37 - Don't Give Up

Aw, its so sweet to read about Emmett and Rosalie bonding with the baby! Feel so bad for Edward. It has to be the craziness talking though when he thinks Bella would keep the baby from him. Carlisle has a point though, about it not being about blame, that everyone makes mistakes. But Edward's mistake is worse cos a lot of us would make Bella's choices (I would not want to explain to my police chief-married at a young age-divorced a year later, that his 17 year old-never put a foot wrong daugher is knocked up, unmarried with a boyfriend that just abandoned me). Its easier disappointing ourselves, or being disappointed that it is disappointing the ones we loves.

I love that in your chapters we go through Bella's meeting with each person. After all the time apart, its interesting to read how she's having to re-relate to everyone and them to her. I'm in no hurry to read the Edward/Bella reunion. I'm having to great a time anticipation her meetings with Charlie, Jasper, Emmett, etc. So you take all the time you need!!

Well da*m. I would be happy just reading 8-10 chapter epilogue of Edward & Bella (lol) but if you must add other people, things I'd like to read:

Edward & Bella's wedding day and night!!; Edward & Bella in college (like in her dream!); Edward & Bella pregnant with a second baby; Charlie and his granddaughter (wonder if he'll talk more); Emmett babysitting Elizabeth (that would be funny); Alice & Jasper with their new baby (written in Jasper's potty mouth POV, wonder if she really would name the baby Milan - giggles); Charlie having a happy ending (with Sue maybe?); maybe Christmas with the whole family a decade later? Can't think of what else now, but will ponder the issue and post it in the review of the next chapter. Take care and happy writing...

Author's Response:

You know, I think you're the first person to comment on Emmett/Rose bonding with Elizabeth and I loved that part!  I know it wasn't a big part, but I loved it all the same!  They all did make mistakes, but, at this point, it's about fixing them, not dwelling on them.

I'm SO glad you understand, and even like, the way I'm handling Bella becoming reacquainted with her life.  It's not pretty and not easy, but these conversations will help them all!  Thanks for bearing with me!

Love your ideas for the epi!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: mcc101180 (Signed) · Date: September 11, 2009 06:57 AM · On: Chapter 37 - Don't Give Up

Thanks for the update. Edward is filled with so much guilt. Carlisle makes an excellent point when he talks of the role that they all played in this mess, including Bella. But he's right it's not about placing blame, it's about having faith and moving forward. Looking forward to Bella's talk with Charlie (perhaps in his POV?).

For the epilogue I'm sure what you come up with will be great. I'd love an Alice moment though. Not sure how I feel about anyone (maybe Bella and Edward) getting married, since they're so young and it'd only be a year that's passed. B/E would make sense only in that they have a daughter together. Same goes with anyone else being pregnant. Going back to school sure, living together absolutely. Lots of fun family (and friends) moments definitely.

Can't wait to see how the rest of this plays out.

Author's Response:

Carlisle is just so wonderful.  He perfectly conducts this difficult conversation with love and compassion... and truth.  The Bella/Charlie conversation will be equally difficult, though.

There will be further than just 1 year in the future in the epilogue, I just don't want to go closer than that.  I love your ideas though!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

I should NOT be reading this story at work!  It makes me cry! Wonderful, wonderful story.  I'm hoping you will at least write about Edward/Bella talking before you shoot to the future?  But that's just me!  You're doing an awesome job! I wish I could write like that.

Author's Response:

Oh, hun!  I should put "Please Don't Read at Work" warnings!  And we are no where near the epilogue.  I have several (8) chapters of the main story written that you haven't yet read and probably another 5-10 to write.  But as I knock 'em out fast, I wanted to start collecting the ideas for the epilogue early!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: mscope (Signed) · Date: September 11, 2009 06:38 AM · On: Chapter 37 - Don't Give Up

I do hope Charlie comes away from seeing Bella with much of the same relief that Angela did.  I can only imagine the words that are passing between them as I type this.  Ah, hell, it's Bella and Charlie they don't need a lot of words to convey what they feel.

Edward.  Such guilt ridden torment for one so young.  Thanks to you Carlisle is standing there beside him offering words of wisdom and a fathers gentle embrace.  He lets Edward know he is not alone but does little to ease the apprehension he feels.

As far as the epilogue goes I hope to see some interaction with the siblings and Elizabeth.

Sandra

Author's Response:

Charlie and Bella... what can I say?  You'll have to read it to get the full effect.  It's a hard chapter, and a sweet chapter.

Edward... he's paid dearly.  But Carlisle needed to have this very adult conversation with him.  Coddling him further will just hinder his ability to face this clearly and try to mend it.

As far as the epilogue, fair enough:)

Thanks so much for your support here and on BtS!

I like Carslile POV. it breaks my heart but you are right... he can't have it that easily after what Bella went through. He has to cry a bit more...

What I want to see on the epilogue, I know you said it will be set in the near future but I really would like to see what they are going to do to put their family together, not only Edward but all the Cullens, they all made mistakes, as you pointed out in different occasions. I believe that it is going to be the little things that will allow them to mend. No great gestures can do that. It is going to be a long and paintful process and I think it would not be good for this great story of yours if we get to see "the talk" and then all is good, let's move to the happy moments.

that is all i'd like to see: how they will work to mend their family.

chapter was great, thanks for the update bb!

Author's Response:

I love writing Carlisle, so I am so glad you enjoy reading him!  He's so wise to be honest to Edward, but still be his dad.

Your thoughts on the epilogue are so insightful.  I agree.  It won't be easy or quick, but it can be done.

Thanks SO much for reviewing!

A small football team?  A batallion?  Yup, I see it!

Awe poor Edward! Even though he was wrong with what he did, I still feel bad for him!

Author's Response:

It's so funny that we all wanted him to PAY at the beginning of the story and now we all feel like "stop torturing him!  he's had enough!"  I feel bad for him too!

Thanks so much for your review!

ooohh interesting! jazzy and alice have 4 girls so halloweens at that family are fun with five fairy's and an elf designed by alice who works in fashion. yum jazzy the elf! Em and rose own a remaking and repairing classic cars garage and have 2 boys and a girl em does football coaching for all the cullen kids! elizabeth has a younger brother and sister and eddie is a doctor and belly a primary school teacher. all the cullen families live back in forks to be near charlie and esme and carlilse have the old house back. phil and renee divorced so renee moved back with charlie as 'friends'. A happy ever after for all the family! x

Awww, sooooo sad! I just want to go over and hug Edward until my arms fall off:(

We should consider creating a Comfort Edward Group on the thread!

The conversation between Carlisle and Edward was so heartbreaking. To see how much Bella not asking for him is affecting him is terrible and Carlisle trying to explain but Edward just blaming himself for everything. God, so heartwrenching. And then thinking that she wouldn't let him see Elizabeth and how broken he was over that thought!! Bella would never do that to him and after she see's them together you know her first thought is gonna be that she could never seperate them....well maybe her second. Her first might be how hot he is being a father lol.

Brilliant chapter and I shall be sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one.

Author's Response:

We miss you on the thread love!

I am so glad you enjoyed the conversation between Carlisle and Edward.  It's such a tough talk, but Edward needs to face this without any blinders on.  And Bella will need to do the same.  They may love each other, but they have issues to work through.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

Love the interaction between Carlisle and Edward, Carlisle gives good advice and is very wise.

It all seems realistic and in character all the way through.

I need to think about the epiloguie stuff, I'll get back to you if I get a great idea :)

Author's Response:

Carlisle is such a good man and father and ... gah!  I love him.

I am so glad it seems realistic.  I know everyone is anxiously awaiting the HEA, but there is damage that needs to be healed first.

Definitely let me know if you have any ideas!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

It would be nice to have things tied up in a Tiffany Blue box with a pristine white ribbon but life does not work that way!  That being said, I am tired of crying during every fricking chapter so let's lighten it up a bit and bring forth the forgiveness! =)

As for the future, I am a diehard romantic so of course I want them all to be one big happy family.

Author's Response:

LOL!  Ready for the Prozac yet?  It'll be okay.  No perfect Tiffany Blue boxes, but it'll be okay.

I'll see what I can do with your wish for the future.

Thanks so much for reviewing!
