What I think would make a great epilogue is Bella's next pregnancy, so she can reflect back on how much everyone loves her and each other by contrasting her dark isolation with Elizabeth's pregnancy with the joyous moments of the second one.

Author's Response:

That's a good idea for the epilogue.  Nice juxtaposition.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

I think I'd send Edward to your door with a boquet of wildflowers, and them Em and Jasper would appear behind them and they would serenade you A capella style. That'd be nice, right?

Gorgeous chapter. Does this mean that Bella was wanting ot name her Elizabeth beforehand or that she just overheard it whilst she was in her coma?

Either way, I loved it. I hope I can read your next update before Friday the 25th. I'm losing my internet then because of my ex-husband refusing to pay his child support.

Author's Response:

You will find out more on Bella's thoughts on the name:)  All I'm saying.

I am so glad that you felt I did the conversation justice!

Oh my gosh!  I hope that you don't lose your internet!  That would be horrible!  I'll have to send Emmett after your ex!

Thank you SO much for your bday present and your review!

Great chapter, I'm glad to see everything is working out between Bella and Charlie.  It's also kinda cute the way Charlie is trying to stick up for "Pretty Boy".  I love this story so much! The way you write, i have so much compassion for your characters, I want to be in the story to comfort them myself. ( I know that sounds cheesy.)  I'm really looking forward to THE TALK.  Please hurry, it brings a smile to my face when i see I have an update.  Thank you for this wonderful and amazing little journey.

Now I'm wishing you a happy belated birthday.  I hope all your Cullen boy dreams came true. Sorry Jasper wasn't there, I just can't give him up LOL.

Author's Response:

Charlie is a good guy and he's going to do what he thinks is right regardless of whether or not he likes it.  They both did well talking it out as it's against their nature to share on this level.

YAHOO on the birthday wishes!  Thanks and thanks for the review!

Good conversation.  Although to be honest it's not as if he could go off at her really.  I like that he was defending Edward.

Author's Response:

No, and Charlie is not the type to do that anyway.  They needed this conversation and I think they did well.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Happy Birthday!  Have Jasper and your pick of the Cullen's cars!

(Love the story, keep up the good work!)

I am so glad you're enjoying the story!

Thanks for the birthday wishes and for the review!

It's a little messed up that I got the gift on your birthday, but I'm not complaining. It was a very touching chapter and I can't wait until Mother and Child are reunited again!!!

Author's Response:

LOL!  I'm glad to give it!

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

Happy birthday a bit late!  As your belated birthday gift you get the ulimate Edward sundae.  Use your imagination well!  Wink, wink.

Author's Response:

I am so glad you feel I did the Chalrie/Bella conversation justice.  It's so important to the story.

OOH!  I cannot wait for that birthday present!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

I thought that was a really important conversation for them to have.  The suffocation of feeling like you have disappointed your parents irreparably...to much for her to take at that point in her life. Good on ya Charlie, good on ya.

Author's Response:

They absolutely had to have this talk.  They needed to listen and forgive and find a common ground.  Charlie really is a good guy.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Always love Charlie, great dad. I forgot that Bella didn't know Elizabeth's name. That was a good scene. I also liked that Charlie took to calling Edward "that boy".

Author's Response:

Charlie really is a good man who will do what he thinks is right even if he doesn't particularly like it.  And yeah!  No one had told Bella about the name!  About time, right?

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Bless him charlie is always so sweet! I'm glad belly likes the name elizabeth or maybe daddy swan would've killed eddie!

fabulous as always!

Author's Response:

Charlie is a good guy and he's going to do what he thinks is right, regardless of whether or not he likes it.

MMmm, I would give you Emmet, right out of a hot steamy shower... But back to the story, it's wonderful, I hope this will all work out, they are meant to be toghether, all three of them, as a family!

Author's Response:

Hang in there!  It will be okay!

As for the birthday present, thanks!  *fans self*

I appreciate your review!

As always, I'm here and I thank you so much for this story.  It's been a great read this summer, and I love how real it is.  Although it's fiction, the emotions are honest and the characters are genuine.  I am glad we got through the Charlie/Bella talk.  It's sort of like the appetizer that gets you ready for the big one.  I think you did a wonderful job writing a daddy/daughter conversation.   This convo. is not an easy one to have with a dad, but it was pretty spot-on in my opinion.  ( and i may or may not have experience in this area and this conversation ;)  I am a faithful follower of this story, and I think you are doing a great job.!

Tara

Author's Response:

I am a daddy's girl, so I tried to follow what a similar conversation would go like with my dad.  Then again, I had to definitely alter it to fit the characters as neither my dad nor I are emotionally closed-off.  I think Charlie and Bella accomplished a lot in their talk and this is all helping her work her way up to her chat with Edward.

Thanks so much for reviewing!

ohh this posted late! You won't get your birthday wishes on your birthday! Grrr..

OKAY mine..

You ready for this?

Really ready?

Are you sure?

Okay, okay..

So yeah, human Edward.. in his birthday suit so that you don't feel uncomfortable in yours..

and the gift..

heh heh

Vanilla pudding pop.

Hope your birthday rocked your socks!

Oh and this chapter? Perfect. Not a ton of words needed with Charlie. He would have been there to help her, it's good he said it and she knows it. This is part of her coming to terms with her own mistakes so maybe she can see Edward's colassal misjudgements for what they really are.

I love how the one thing Bella wants to see is Edward with Elizabeth. And of course she loves the name! Although I think removing the Swan will be something to celebrate int he future for these two. ;)

Fantastic as always. On pins and needles waiting for the next shot!

Author's Response:

Oh.My.God.  BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVA! *thud*

I am so glad you felt I did this chapter justice.  They accomplished a lot for folks that aren't really comfortable talking about emotions.  Charlie is a good man and is going to do what he feels is right, even if he doesn't necessarily like it.

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing!

God that was so good!
Im so glad she loves the name!
Next chapter soon please, i wonder what will happen next, the E and B chat or Bella meeting Elizabeth, i cant wait!!

Author's Response:

I am so glad you felt I did the chapter justice!  And yes, Bella did love the name!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

Reviewer: Elizabethan (Signed) · Date: September 20, 2009 09:21 AM · On: Chapter 38 - Band Aid

The band-aid analogy certainly fits here.  Better to get it over with than drag it out.

I think the talk with Charlie went well.  Yes, he was disappointed, but he was also grateful to have her back.  I think most parents would feel the same - they're still your kids and you love them no matter what.

Also not surprising that Bella has conflicting feelings about Edward.  She was so hurt by his departure, yet she still has those little hopes about him being with her and their daughter.

And you had me scared there for a second - this was the last thing I read before I had to scroll the page down:  "I liked it.  No."  And I panicked before I scrolled the screen down and saw "I loved it." Whew, I could breathe again!

Happy birthday, and I'm sending you your favorite male Cullen in a leather jacket, leather riding chaps, boots, atop an electric blue Ducati!

Liz

Author's Response:

This conversation definitely was best handled as quickly and succinctly as possible - like ripping of a band aid.  They did very well since neither of them are pros at emotional communication.  They resolved quite a bit in one conversation.

OOH!  And I love your birthday present!  I'll be waiting on Edward in the leathers on the bike!

Thanks so much for reviewing!

I loved this part

**I know how babies are made, but let’s just skip that part, okay?  I’m going with the immaculate conception theory right now.**

and the *making me a grandpa while I'm still young and handsome* part

Author's Response:

LOL!  Charlie definitely has a sense of humour (and definitely doesn't want to think about his litte girl in compromising positions!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Happy Birthday! For your birthday, Edward Anthony Masen Cullen is coming to your door with one dozen red roses and a romantic song to play on the piano for you. Then he will take you in his arms and look into your eyes for what seems like an eternity, slowly lowering his face to yours, for a sweet, tender kiss.

Author's Response:

Ok, I just shivered!  LOL!  BEST BIRTHDAY EVA!

Thank you so much for the amazing review!

Such a great chapter; brought tears to my eyes...my mom died when I was 10 and I've always been very close to my dad, although we went through some years of strain. So I can sympathize with Bella and how she feels about letting Charlie down. Happy birthday!! I can't offer you anything of a gift except praise(and a big wet kiss from Edward) who else? But I beg you for more and some heartfelt resolutions between Edward and Bella. Hugs!

Author's Response:

I am sorry for your loss in regard to your mum.  That must have been so hard.

I'm a total daddy's girl and I really see Bella in the same light.  They accomplished a lot in their talk, though.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes and for the review!

hey belated happy happy birthday!! i'll have edward have his wicked way with you. HAHA..

i'm glad that the coversation between bella and charlie is as good as we could have hope for. i really can't wait for the talk between edward and bella but it seems she's not really not yet ready for it. i just hope bella gets to see baby lizzie soon. =)

Author's Response:

Bella is still working her way up to Edward, but it's coming!  She and Charlie really accomplished a lot just by being willing to listen and forgive.

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes and the review!

Happy late birthday!!  Mine's on Wed, the 23rd.  I'd love to see Bella and Esme talk. And for Bella to meet her daughter...although that could happen during THE talk :)  Hopefully she admits to Edward that Elizabeth was the name she had planned.

I give you a birthday serandae from Edward himself on the piano, enjoy and keep the chapters coming!

Author's Response:

YAY!  What a birthday present?!?!?!

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Man, great chapter.  I was happy to see these 2 discuss so much.  Happy Belated Birthday!!  Since I refuse to share Edward with you, you can have Jasper for your birthday (since I believe him to be the second sexiest of the bunch.)  He will show up at your doorstep clad only in boots and boxers wielding an acoustic guitar.  He will commence to serenade you with his sweet voice full of southern charm before he rids himself of the guitar just to attack you.  :o)  Eh?  I know I wouldn't mind that.  :o)

Author's Response:

Charlie and Bella worked through a great deal in a short time, mostly because they were both willing to listen and forgive.

Thanks for the awesome birthday present and for the review!

Reviewer: Stacierob1 (Signed) · Date: September 20, 2009 08:56 AM · On: Chapter 38 - Band Aid

Charlie is such a sweetie...what a good daddy.  He was so hurt by her choice to leave...but is able to focus on now.  Even though I still don't totally get Edward's decision to leave in the first place....I am holding out hope that she forgives him...because don't we all want them to end up happy and together?  If she is as forgiving as her father...that's probably how it will roll. Have a happy birthday....and Edward would be a downer bday present at the moment...so how about a Jasper...cause he's so Fing funny!

Author's Response:

Charlie really is a good man.  He's doing what he feels is right regardless of whether or not he personally likes it.

Thanks for the fun birthday gift and for reviewing!
