I know you said it's not necessary to the plot...but it almost gives the story that much more depth than without it! We could have easily not read it, but god, i can't even explain it but this chapter just (New Moon trailer just came on, the one that says..some will rise to defend her but only one will risk everything for her, PERFECT TIMING?? totally made me think of it in the perspective of this story) adds to the intensity, and gives us as readers a deeper feeling of the bond and the dependance they have on one another!
And that is exactly how Edward wuld probably be with pregnant Bella.
Gah, does anyone know where there' an Edward going spare?!?

Jasper is my flippin' hero! Even without this being from Jasper's POV it was all him. Great chapter. I'm proud that Edward was able to hold it together and say what he said to Bella. That would have been some F'd up shit if he got hit by a car! Thank you for not doing that to them or us. And let's face facts, a little wind gust from speeding cars at Edward's head wouldn't do a damn thing to change that sexy mop he calls hair!
