I cant wait to see what happens next!

In your title do you mean "those who will not listen". Deaf people cannot hear because of a phsical defect, people who don't want to hear what you are saying are not listening out of choice. It is called "selective listening".

I know, I know, picky, picky. But I think that is what you mean't!

I love this story by the way. You are a phenomenal writer and so imaginative. I love to read your tale. I am sorry I have not reviewed before, but I usually will wait with some stories til they are done to review the tale as a whole. But when I see a misnomer like the title, I just get this itch to say something.

Or maybe you did mean to say "who will not hear"! I don't know for sure, I just know what the idiom is. It is an old saying, that one.

GREAT work!

Author's Response:

Hey there,

Thanks for the advice, but all my chapter titles are proverbs and this is actually a proverb that was written by Mathew Henry.  He was a clergyman who wrote commentaries on the Old and New Testaments.  It's taken from his commentary for Psalm lviii. So I did mean "None so deaf as those who will not hear" that is the direct quote.  :)

And do not worry about reviewing.  I am not a writer who dwells on reviews at all.  Even if they do point out mistakes.  ;)

I am happy just to know you are reading it and actually paying enough attention to question things.  Thanks again!

This was all sorts of awesome.  I just recently found this story and read it eagerly.  I've rec'ed it out every chance I get.  I just love the future-worldly premise to the plot.  It is so realistic, it feels like I'm emmerced in one of those post-apocolypse movies.

Have fun at TwiCon!  I wish I could drive up!

I'm anxious to see what else happened with Jasper and Carlisle in '06. I'm glad the rest of the group's together now though... I just keep having images of them storming into the hospital and carrying Carlisle out in a sack... so I'd love to read your much more creative version of things!

As for the present.... the confrontation with Jacob was great! I'm anti Jake, but the way you wrote the scene gave me respect for the guy. He was Bella's bestie for a time and is doing a friend justice by being so hard on the guy who left her. *sticks out tongue* still don't like him.

I love the fact that the relationships are starting to be built with Billy and Sam. Although there won't be any hair braiding, I'm glad they're not outwardly opposed to dealing more with the Cullens. Got to be a little reasonable about the fact that they wouldn't be there if not for Alice's vision, right?

Great chapter m'lady and I look forward to many more. *bows* I've been reading so much lately and not been as active in the forums as I should be, but have you discussed how long this will be?

Great chapter! It was nice to get to see what happened to more characters, both cullens after the bombs went off and what's happened at the forks compound.

Wow, so incredible.  You've painted such a tragic, and yet believable world.  I'm almost afraid to turn on the television after reading your story, afraid I'm going to learn our world is soon to end.  How crazy!

Can't wait to see what you've got in store next!

I cant wait to read how this "family meeting" goes. It could get really  interesting. I hope you have a suprise comming in the form of Bella. She cant die that way! Its just not right!

I was thrilled to find an update waiting for me today! This story has been great so far. I'm quite certain I know what Jasper has found in Texas and am anxious to read that chapter. I'm curious about Jake's thoughts about Bella and why he is so angry. If she was sent away, then that romance would have never bloomed, right? Can't wait to see where this story goes!

Reviewer: Sheeijan (Signed) · Date: July 28, 2009 07:31 PM · On: None So Deaf as Those Who Will Not Hear

Wow Jacob is angry. But strangely enough I kind of forgot how horrible life is now. How different things are, and how difficult it must be. And yeah, I think he must hold Edward responsible for Bella leaving town and therefore unable to be protected when the fallout happened. And I'm wondering if there's something else that they don't know about yet. Perhaps some runins with other vampires? There's an awful lot of werewolves.

The insight into events directly after the fallout is fascinating. Jasper is in so much pain and no wonder! I am amazed he is functioning now actually. Poor Alice, I loved how you painted her loss and love of Bella. I always felt that was one relationship that was too poorly developed in a lot of fics. But you made it very real and believable with just a few words. Edward stepping in as leader of the family is being done very well too. I find it impressive that he was able to do so despite his own monumental loss. Everybody lost something, though, didn't they? Carlisle lost his faith, Alice lost her gift, Esme lost her mate, I think Jasper may have lost his mind at least for now.

Thanks for the update! Have fun at Comic Con!

Wow...Jake is feeling a bit, ANGRY....

I'm looking forward to seeing what actually brought Carlisle back into the family...

And just what is wrong with Jasper...I'm guessing it is ALL the sadness that surrounds him...and not just from his family...

Will Leah come to the compound?  That would be a good step...

Have a GREAT TIME!

Kathie

Author's Response:

Hee hee... Jake is angry, but he may come around.  ;)

FOur chapters ready to go.  Tomorrow I'll post the first one...and then by the end it will be the end of part 1. :)

you should have like .. five thousand reviews considering how well this story is written, the excellance of the plot and the suspence. seriously.

Author's Response:

Awww thanks!  I think the premise of the story turns people off from reading it.  I think I need someone to write me a better summary! bahhaha!  Thanks for reading....and reviewing. ;)

Reviewer: BellaS (Signed) · Date: July 28, 2009 05:50 PM · On: None So Deaf as Those Who Will Not Hear

It's amazing to see Edward step up and take charge in the search for Carlisle and helping the family come together again, which is kind of weird because in one of the earlier chapters that takes place in the present, he still wants to kill himself. I don't know whether or not Bella will ever come back (although I really hope she does), but I have to say that I read every chapter as if it was like the middle of new moon--really quickly and anxiously. I would skip ahead if I could...sigh.

Author's Response:

Thanks for the review!  I am getting all my ducks in a row, I have 4 chapters in the pot ready to go.  Been working like crazy since I got back from Twicon.  I'll be updating tomorrow (Sunday) and then every Sunday after that until I run out of chapters.

THanks so much for sticking with me.  I know this format is super frustrating!!  :)

Great chapter!  Very dynamic and viscerally gripping.

Reviewer: blueeyeddemon (Signed) · Date: July 28, 2009 03:17 PM · On: The Darkest Hour is Just Before the Dawn

OMG! Great chapter. Carlisle must be at the end of his rope to say that and then to completely abandon his family, I feel so sorry for him. You give the characters such emotion and thought, its wonderful. I've never cared much for the wolves but if their necessary please try to keep it sort and to the point. Once again I love how you've done the apocalyptic world, its like I'm there, amazing writing. It seems you've left a cliffhanger, that means you'll have to update all the sooner so that's good. I cant wait to see what happened to Emmett. Please don't keep me waiting too long.

Reviewer: Babe (Signed) · Date: July 27, 2009 09:58 PM · On: The Darkest Hour is Just Before the Dawn

Reading this for the Bellies.  Amazing.  You have made me cry more than once.  And made me laugh...thank God for Emmett! The premise, initially sounded like it was going to be way too much high drama and angst...but I have to say, this is really well balanced and well written.  You have completely sucked me in.  Also, I hope that you have overcome the concern about writing action.  The scene with Victoria was ducky.  The wait for upcoming chpters is going to be unbearable, I can just tell!  Now, please don't waste your time replying to little ole me!  Post a new chapter!

Author's Response:

Hey there!

The Bellies sure have brought around some new readers... thanks for taking a chance with this!

Emmett has so grown on me.  I never intended to write him this way, but I started researching Midnight Sun a little more and he just jumped out from the page at me.

I have a lot more action to write so I hope I can continue to pull it off!!!

It's hard to read a WIP when the updates aren't very regular.  I hope to get back on track once TwiCon is over and the summer starts to wind down a little.

I am updatng tonight though.  Thanks again for taking a chance.  ;)

im only guessing but is bella the thingie in the cage at the start of the story? i LOVE LOVE LOVE the story by the way!!!

Author's Response:

Aw thanks so much!!!  And thanks for taking a chance with this....a story with 15 chapters in with no Bella is not exactly an easy story to take in.  But I promise.... or at least I hope I don't disappoint.  :)

Ooooh... Victoria!  Didn't see that one coming.

Just finised Ch. 7.  I didn't even think about the fact that Bella might be dead until I read your A/N at the end.  I just assumed that was who Jasper had seen in the Prologue.  Right?!  Maria's secret weapon of sorts - B as a Vamp?  I've been thinking about whether or not Jasper and/or Bella would make it back to the rest of the Cullen's before Eddie-Boy kills himself.

Just finished reading the first 6 chapters and figured I'd stop to review real quick...

Very touching story.  My eyes got all misty a time or two even.  It's a great story so far though.  So different from the usual HEA fanfic's.  Very refreshing.  And of course, I just love post apocalyptic anything!

Author's Response:

I am a total sucker for all things apocalyptic! (Obviously.)  I hope I managed to maintain your interest.  :)  I know it's a bizarre scenario and.... what?  no Bella!!!! Some can't handle that, but they just have to be patient.  ;)  My head and computer are full of some more crazy stuff, I just have to get it out there.  *sigh*  And find the time to do it.

I hope to get back on track with a regular postig schedule so bear with me.  Thanks again for taking a chance with this.

eeekkk!  what is happening with emmett?  and it was so sad to see Rosalie so broken last chapter...and wtf daddy c?  how can he just forget esme?!!  so many questions, but i have faith that you will update soon ;)  love your story, i think it is one of the best original story lines out there, so thank you!

Author's Response:

Daddy C was a heavy blow, but one ofthe first scenes I wrote back in August believe it or not!  I know everyone has a million questions and I am the worst and not spilling any, but my new motto has become...."It's the journey, not the destination."  Lame, I know!!!  But it's the only thing keeping me sane.  :)

I am posting a new chapter tonight.... and I doubt any questions will be answered!  bahahah! okay maybe a couple.

Thanks for taking a chance on this!

Awesome chapter!  I can't wait to find out what happens in the present and past!  And I'm still dying to see Bella!! :) :)  For a Twilight story without her so far,  you've done a remarkably good job keeping me interested.  So...kudos! :)

Author's Response:

Bhahahaha!  I was sayign to another reviewer that was freaking about Bella.... that I used to freak out when people would bring her up....but I don't anymore.  I keep telling myself it's the journey not the destination.  hee hee.  There is still A LOT of story to tell.... including Jasper in the south.  ;)

thanks for sticking it out....even without Bella so far.

Reviewer: Cosmos (Signed) · Date: July 12, 2009 08:57 AM · On: The Darkest Hour is Just Before the Dawn

Wow great chapter and we find out what happened to Carlisle. TBH I'm not surprised he is so compassionate in canon and he is obviously going to be feeling extreme guilt because of his phone call to Aro. Yes I'm surprised he didn't even manage tog et away for 10 minutes to let Esme know he is OK but hes obviously going through his own trauma and this is his way of dealing with it. Now Emmett is back.... great stuff, carry on!

Author's Response:

Hey Cosmos,

Emm is coming in the next chapter, well at least a little bit.  Edward and Em still have some stuff they need to go through.... I think I mentioned this in some previous chapters.

Now the big question is how to bring back Carlisle and make it believable.  ;)

Thanks for sticking with me!!!!  (Even through my erratic posting schedule.)
