Reviews For The Fallout

Um, yeah.  Edward's point of view was as good as Jasper's.  You flawlessly travel from present day to flashbacks.  Lovely.  No overhead caption necessary.

The vision.... aaaahhhhh.  Bringing vampires to their knees.  Pretty frickin' strong.  I can't help but wonder if the vision was triggered by the previous Bella conversation and/or the search for Victoria.

Wonderful ending..."Bella."  Is this enough reason to change her, Edward?!!!???!  Ah, the search is on just a few minutes after he refuses to go back for her.  Nice touch.

I have a feeling I'm going to spend the day reading the rest of your story.  I should space them out so I don't start begging you for an update.  But I'm so frickin' intrigued.  Jillburfm rec'd this to me after I said I was looking for some angst in between Wide Awake and We the Forgotten updates.  So far, so perfect.  Thank you.

Author's Response:

Ah Thanks!   I was worried about the flashbacks and only had a couple of people tell me they were a bit confused.  So that's a plus!

Oh! Jillburfm!  Love her!  Thanks for listening to her.  I hope I don't disappoint.  I don't know what we are all going to do when Wide Awake is finished!  G&G is really good too, even though there is only 2 chapters up.  I really want to read We trhe Forgotten, but I think I need to wait until I am done reading my fic.  I know they are not the same, but I don't want to taint anything of mine.  I can't wait to read it though.  I hear SO many good things about it.

I usually update about every 5-6 days if that helps?

Anyway!  Thanks again for giving this a chance!

Wow... eerie, dark... can't wait to read more.  I felt like this was Jasper and obvioiusly knew it once he speaks of a past love in the South.  And what an effective and creative way to introduce Edward's story.  Way cooler than "EPOV".  I'm really looking forward to where this story is going and can't help but speculate about Maria's secret weapon.  I feel like it's Bella for some reason.  But you're not a BD fan, so maybe not.

Author's Response:

Thanks!!  I got a couple of PM's telling me that I should have put JPOV at the top, that I lead them astray.

hahaha!  Yah, kind of the point! ;)

Another great chapter. I knew it was a good decision to Fave this story.

I suspected it would be Charlie but I never thought about Seth. But I was always hoping it would be Bella. But of course that would just be too eaisy.

When Charlie told Edward how he had called Renee.. well it shocked me. I never thought that Charlie could do something like that, especcialy after the Cullens told him that they were in danger! I loved the way you described Edward's reaction to the news and Charlie's regretfulness about it all.

I can't wait to find out whaEdward's reaction will be when he gets to Forks.

Your story makes me think that she is dead, probably because that's what all the Cullen's and everybody else thinks. But there is still no solid evidence that she is no longer alive, and seeing as this story is full of unexpected twists and turns I'm going to say there is a pretty good possibility that she may be alive. But of course, as you said, we will find out all in good time.

Author's Response:

Yes, Bella would have been too easy, but I am glad Seth surprised you!

As for Charlie... he loves his daughter more than anything.  He saw what Edward's leaving did to her.  It broke her.  So if Edward was the cause of that, well then Charlie is going to protect her from ever hurting that way again.  Instinct wins out... especially if someone tells you they can read minds and sees the future of the world ending.

Thanks so much for sticking it out.  I hope I can continue to surprise you in a good way at least.

I don't think Bella is dead, but i think Renee is.  I'm guessing that Bella was turned shortly after the nuclear explosion, because that's the only way that bella could possibly be with edward in the present and not be creepily old.  Watch me be totally wrong lol.  Good luck with the story, update soon ^.^

Author's Response:

Creepily old!  bahahhahah!!!

Too funny.  Mums the word but I love your review!

I usually update about every 5-6 days if that helps with a time frame.

Just found this story and I'm loving it - I'm adding it to my favourites. I'm a huge fan of end of the world type novels - of the type where society breaks down and you get to see how people really behave when they don't have rules and structure. Stephen Kings The Stand is one of my favourite books.

Anyway this is obviously slightly different as there is a Twilight spin on it and I guess the main focus is on the vamps rather than the humans.

OK my theories, Bella isn't dead, Phil & Renee fled South with her and she is connected to Japsers prologue somehow in that he saw something related to her. I think she's still human which makes me wonder how we're going to deal with her having aged 10 years and Edward still being 17.

Charlie calling Seth his son threw me, but then I realised he's obviously with Sue now so Seth is his step son. I hope we get to hear more about how they have been living for the past 10 years and the plans that Carlise put in place for them.

Good stuff, look forward to reading more

Author's Response:

I think I have the best reviewers out in the FF world!

I LOVE reading and watching stuff about total societal breakdown.  Blindness by Jose Saramago did me in!  When chaos and madness sets in, and people lose all their morals and forget what they are doing.  I just can't fathom it and it blows my mind.  I just can't wrap my head around the idea that somewhere along the way, your brain snaps and you think it's okay to do some of those things that are morally reprehensible.

*sigh*  I could go on and on... but I won't, and my fic isn't going to go too much into that.  But we will learn who/what these Ravagers are all about soon.  And yes, the main focus is the vamps... but we will see some good come out of the people of Forks. ;)

It's no secret... this one I can tell.  Charlie and Sue married.  Harry still dies, like in the books.  He suffers from a heart attack.  Charlie and Sue come together in their grief.  You'll see that the people of Forks did pretty well because of Charlie and life does go on for them.  The human spirit still triumphs. ;)  Seth and Leah become Charlie's kids... they lost their dad, Charlie lost his daughter.

ok... now that I am totally rambling I better stop before I give away the whole plot! Thanks again!

;)

I was beaming with hope, when Edward said that that was Bella's car.....
And then, when he said there were two men in there, I just felt numb and cried....
And when Charlie said he interfered....I just cried even more...
I can't bear the tought that Bella isn't with Edward....
I think you are a hell of a good writter, because I only crie, when the fanfic is really good....
You're the third writter over whose stories I've cried...
First was Angstgoddesses, then Michellephantses and then yours.....
So keep up the good work!
P.S!
I'm sorry about my english, if there are mistakes, you have to forgive me, beacuse I don't live in a English speaking coutry...
Your fan, Helen

Author's Response:

I am sorry I made you cry.  (Well maybe not truly sorry ;)  But I am beaming at your review, thank you!  To add me to the same list as  AG and MP I am totally shocked!  And big hugs to you!

Charlie has so much guilt now.  Maybe more than Edward.  Maybe the two of them can come together because of this?

Just a warning.. it is going to get a little worse before it gets better.  So be prepared.

Thanks SO much Helen.  Your review made my night. ;)

Charlie and Sue, I'm guessing? I like this development. People should try to find some happiness.

Poor Edward...he just keeps missing her. It's almost worse that he knew something was going to happen and he can't seem to get to her (versus if everything just went to hell suddenly and there wasn't a chance).

I'm pretty sure I said it in the last review, but yeah, I think Bella is alive. Unfortunately, I don't really like to guess these things because a lot of times I'm wrong. And I really want her to be alive, so perhaps I will say that I think she's dead. Then, I'll be pleasantly surprised when she pops up, instead of being devastated when she's dead and all along I've been assuing she's alive (unless that's 'dead' as in 'now a vampire'...like who did Jasper see in the prologue with Maria? But, if there were human belongings and vamps surrounding the cage-type thing, then maybe Bella is in it and not a vamp yet...either potential vamp or potential vamp-food. See, I'm not good at guessing these things. Haha, I just like to wait and then when it comes to fruition, I can be like, "oh, yeah, I wondered if it might be something like that."). Either way, I'm now saying she's dead (you know my plan).

And, holy cow this was long...sorry!

Author's Response:

Yes... no secret.. that one I can tell!!  Charlie and Sue married.  Harry still dies just like in NM. The circumstances of Bella leaving earlier does nothing to change that.  Charlie and Sue find a little comfort over the loss of Bella and Harry.  Life does go on for them which you will see.

Edward does keep missing Bella, almost like he's not fated to be with a human.  Things keep happening to prevent him from beign with her.  It's happened that way since Twilight.  Next chapter the Volturi make an appearance!!!

thanks again for te awesome reviews.

Emmett is a good person...vampire. But, you know, it makes me just a tad worried. I mean, poor Edward, but I can't help but picture Bella entering the picture as Edward is about to get his arm ripped off or something...because I have faith in Bella being out there. Maybe she was in one of the "unimportant" states when everything went down (you know, without any appealing huge cities or infrastructure...I'm in one of those states, so I can say this).

This has been major rambling. In summary: Emmett=I love him, he loves Edward, I love Edward, Edward loves Bella. Oh, and I have to throw love at you, too, because this story pretty much rocks. :)

Author's Response:

As for Emmett and Edward... the two of them have been through a lot together.  They do the unthinkable for their family, so Em knows exactly what Edward is asking of him. :(

As for Bella... all in good time. ;)  Love...love love your reviews!

I do like Charlie (and yes, movie version = all kinds of great). I really like that Charlie's thoughts are a bit concealed (especially concerning Bella - not that that's always good).

Author's Response:

i stole it from MS... even if it's not entirely accurate, it worked for me!

:)

Whew, so I just caught up on the chapters! I've been kept away, but I decided it was time for a break. But you know, I didn't really want to stop reading to leave a review - you made it so tempting to see what happened next! So, I came back.

First off, this has made me think that if something like this happened, I would be quite perturbed not to have these vampire abilities. They're pretty lucky, in quite a sad way sometimes, to be able to survive.

Emmett and Rosalie are great. I love that she humors him (especially when he helps to try to lighten things up for everyone).

Author's Response:

Thanks for reviewing as you go noel presh!  That is awesome... makes my day.

Alice has her moments coming up, we get to see a bit as to what happened to her in the past.

Also, she has had 10 years to get used to her not having her abilities anymore.  So yes it is frustrating, but she copes as best she can.

Em and Rose are so much fun to write.,  Even though for me Rose is definitely the hardest.  Thanks again!

Reviewer: Tinuviel (Signed) · Date: April 24, 2009 12:00 AM · On: Prologue

Hey OCD_indeed,

this is the very first time, that I am posting a review, but your story's just soo.... I don't know... intense... I couldn't think of anything else yesterday evenig. I even felt like I was feeling a little of Edwards emotions, I listened to Placebo all evening and starting shouting at my poor boyfriend without any logical reason....

Then I googled where exactly Baltimore lies in the US (I'm from Germany, so I'm no good when it comes to cities in the US) and tried to figure out, where Bella, Renee and Phil might have travelled to. And I think they went South.... I mean, why should the go North? LOL! They wanted Bella to relax and stuff and a little bit of sunshine and heat would have been nice, wouldn't it? And they are originally from Phoenix????

Soo I believe, that Bella's still alive (or a Vampire???)..... the reason for letting me think that is, what did Jasper see in the Champer??

" My eyes swept the cage and my breath caught as I stumbled backwards reaching for the wall for support. To say I was shocked at what lay before me was an understatement.  Maria turned to me, obviously perplexed at the erratic emotions projecting from me.  Shock, disbelief, anger, sadness, relief, love and lastly fear.  I was afraid of what I saw. What did this mean for us?

But it wasn't the numbers that shocked me; it was what was at the heart of those numbers that frightened me.  I could swear my supernatural eyes were betraying me.  I wasn't sure if what I was seeing was real, and in that instant, there was nothing more important to me than to get out of there alive and back to my family.  I needed to play her game and I would, no matter what the cost.  I would do anything she asked me to, because for a brief moment, I thought I was staring at my redemption.

I just had no idea how we were going to do it, but we would come and claim what was ours. "

So those are the passages that made me think that Bella's still alive (or...), Jasper's emotions where going wild, "shock, anger..." wouldn't have caught my attention, but "love, disbelief". And he's talking about redemption; he thought it was his fault that the Cullens left Bella, and so in the end that Edwars couldn't find Bella before the bombs hit.....

Ok I think this got a little long, but I needed to get this out. And now I will sit back and try to wait patiently for the next chapters.

Thank you very much for postingthis story,

Sarah! :-)

Author's Response:

I am so chuffed that this is your first review!  That my little post-apocalyptic fic brought you out of the woodwork!  AND what a review!!  Definitely one fo the best I have ever gotten.

You will be happy to know that in chapters 9&10, I was listening to Placebo on my playlist while I was writing those chapters.  (These two are a little intense... bombs, fighting... etc. ;)

You are the first to fully dissect Jasper's reaction to the cage.  And yes... "love and disblief" were in the forefront of his emotions.  Jasper has never forgiven himself for Bella's birthday.... man... my Vampires carry a lot of guilt!!

I won't go on, for fear of giving away too much more.  But a BIG thank you all the way to Germany from Canada for reviewing this.

Muah!

I personally think that Bella is not dead and from what I understand from the prologue, Maria might have her as a "hostage," I don't know. I'm just taking a wild guess here. But I can't wait 'till the next update. Great job so far!

Author's Response:

thanks, and I hope I don't disappoint with whichever storyline that I have chosen

Okay, done reading through what is DONE...sigh...no new NEXT button to click...

What a ride this is!

Charlie and Seth...I LOVE Seth...and all three of my girls are TEAM SETH...

I have FAITH this is ALL going to work out...and work out WELL...

Very cool premise and thanks so much for sharing...

Kathie

Author's Response:

I totally understand about the "next" button.  I have a hard time starting fics with under 10 chapters posted.  So thanks for taking a chance with it.

I loved Seth in the books, and Charlie and Seth are going to play a nice little role in my fic.    I hope I can continue to keep things interesting.  Thanks again

Who was Seth's mother? Did Charlie adopt him or take him on after the nuclear exchange?

And thanks for updating regularly!

Jeanna M.

Author's Response:

Seth's mother is Sue Clearwater.

In the book, Harry Clearwater dies the same day that Bella jumped off the cliff... March 16... which in my fic is the same day the bombs go off.  Charlie and Sue do end up married in my fic. They both were grieving and found comfort in each other.  Life does go on after the bombs. ;)

Thanks for reading!

loved it!

great development with Charlie and Seth, the little bit of humour there was great.

flashbacks still heartbreaking though

can't wait for more!

Author's Response:

Thanks so much! Charlie and Seth were not in the original draft.  So it was a surprise when I started writing and Seth showed up!  But I love writing him and him and Em are going to lighten things up a bit.

wasn't expecting that twist with charlie calling renee!  poor edward - all these years blaming himself for not finding her, of course he will blame himself anyway.

and no, i don't think b is dead, well dead dead, maybe undead!  i think she is in TX...so keep it coming because i can't wait to find out!

Author's Response:

Yes!  All those years of blaming himself.  Can he lighten his burdens now?  Lay the blame with Charlie?  Well it is Edward, so... maybe a little but not fully.  Charlie and Edward have both been living with the guilt.... I wonder what this means for their relationship?

thanks again!
