Loved it I cried at the end!! I thought he would live!! Anyway great story!!

Author's Response:

First, thanks so much for reading!

As for Charlie, well, that is the truth of that diagnosis. 5 years is the optimistic side of that particular cancer. But I wanted him be surrounded by love in the end.

Words cannot express my love for this. The final scene absolutely heartbreaking!

Author's Response:

Thank-you so much for reading! I loved writing this story, and wish something would come so easily to me again!

I really appreciate how you don't sugar coat anything relating to cancer. Cancer is a vicious bitch. I watched and helped with my grandfather who fought throat cancer for 3 years before it finally took him. There are no words to describe the horror that it can instill in you. Thank you for writing honestly and I hope the rest of the story stays this way. Keep up the good work!

umm that was weird.  one second they love each other and the next they hate each other?

It seems promessing :)

Not lame.  I thought it was cute :)

I know the stuff with Charlie is a downer, but the rest of the story feels light-hearted to me. It's nice to have a nice romance between Edward and Bella without the drama of James trying to rape or kill someone or Tanya (or Irina, Kate, Heidi, etc) either being a psycho ex or just a hussie trying to split them up.

I loved your story! it was awesome! feeling invoking and very true to what Bella would have been going through as a family member. I cried during the last chapter...it was beautiful! Thank you

I don't know if you are still reading your reviews.  I just wanted to let you know that you have written a terrific story.  I cried with the epilogue.  A Charlie point of view was a great idea.  Absolutely heart-breaking and wonderful all at the same time.

This story really touched me as I lost my grandad to pancreatic cancer, you made me laugh, cry and sometimes I wanted to throw the computer through the window, but you did this story justice and handled such a delicate subject with such finess.. you truly are a gifted writer and I would just like to say thank you for not rushing it and doing the research that was needed to accomplish xx

I love the story. I was sad about Charlie, but in life nothing is as perfect as some of these fanfic seem to be.

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for reading! Being true to the disease, I couldn't give him more than 5 years, realistically. He got to refordge a relationship with Bella, make new friendships, and to see her happy and settled in life. In a way, it is as happy an ending as we could get.

I ment to post on the last chapter, but forgot to. I was surpised that the Cullen where human and Jasper and Rose lived next door.

Poor Bella, she never gets to be a normally teenager!

This is a new take. I have read tons of fanfics and never have I read one where Charlie is sick. I can't wait to read the rest!!

Sorry this is my first review, but I just can't stop clicking "next"! ;) Your fic has hit a nerve with me, as I'm sure it has many others. Thanks for bringing to the surface the hardships caretakers face.

okay, that was one of the best au-human fanfics ive ever read, but dude seriouslly the ending sucked. i give u 4 and a half stars outta five. congrats

Author's Response:

I am so happy you enjoyed my story! I couldn't have ended it any other way. It is the truth of that disease. I conferred with experts on this. 5 years, for someone with pancreatic cancer, is EXTREMELY optimistic. :(

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Ok, so I've been reading stories on here for months now, and as of yet haven't been inspired to leave a review.  This story had me choking up on the first page and I had to share that.  Looking forward to reading the rest.

i have to say at this point of the story (chapter 1) that this looks very promising. it almost made me cry. thanks for posting it

Reviewer: Bbuttis (Signed) · Date: February 21, 2010 01:09 PM · On: Epilogue

Wow.

I must admit that from time to time your story was little too quick for me. I mean that sometimes things happened very fast and there was no time to react before they were already over :P but on the whole, I liked this. It was very emotional, yes, you made me cry :) and I can guess that it was quite accurate, too. I have to guess, though, as I've never lived throught anything like this.

But the epilogue... I must applaude to you! It was a very brave decision to end the story like that. With the dying man's PoV. And it worked wonderfully! I'm in awe :)

Thank you very much for this amazing journey. I'm glad I found this story <3

I really, really love this story. Like a lot!!! Can't wait to read more of your stuff!!!!! Keep up the good work.  I just wanted to say, that my friend is kind of going through the same situation.  His sister just found out that she's pregnant, and they're grandpa's cancer is spreading like crazy again.  This last bit really touched my heart!
