I love this story, I really hope you'll continue it in the near future. Thank you for sharing it with the rest of us :)
Author's Response: Just wanted to say that I am planning on continuing in the very near future. Life has just been crazy for the past --oh god-- 5 months *ducks head in shame*. I am glad you enjoyed it so far and I hope to update very soon :).
Thank you,
Eva

What a great chapter! I really love your story, it's so warm and - I don't know - soft? I prefer Edward in this, but Bella has her perks, too.

awwwwwww...so i'm starting to get the Matt-Luciana attraction, maybe...if gives hope, eh? hahaha.......Do you believe in soulmates? It doesn't matter who or what you look like, there's another being meant for you, right?

I finally got caught up and read this chapter and absolutely loved it! Particularly the least part where they kissed- that was HOT!
Reviewer: Moni_MD (Signed) · Date: February 13, 2010 11:13 PM · On: Inferno
When Bella said "Then kiss me", i stopped reading, opened my itnunes and let "Dream a little dream of me" by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong to play on repeat. It might have nothing to do with their moment but it is a great love song and i just felt like listening to it while reading about their first kiss! (YAYing like a fangirl!) And you see, i am not the kind that listens to an author's playslist while reading a chapter. I just normally go for it, too anxious to read.
But when Louis sang
"Stars fading but I linger on dear Still craving your kiss I'm longing to linger till dawn dear Just saying this"
I thought, "meant to be!" - haha!
And boy, that kiss was great. For many reasons but mainly because it felt like it meant so much. It was their first kiss but it also felt like they were going to the next stage, like something finally shifted and both were ready to take the next step together. It remains to be seen how big that step will be but it was progress nonetheless! hey, i am surely not complaining!! haha!
I was just thinking what a delicate balance is necessary to make their relationship work. Normally, at the beginning of a relationship you need to take slow so not scary the person but both of their lives are complicated, for different reasons, so there are things that just need to be discussed in order for their relationship to progress but if it was a choice, I am sure they'd rather share these private things at a late stage. But they can't because if they don't clarify a bit what is going on in their lives/heads, they would never go anywhere, so yeah, complicated is the word.
I have other things to say but i will send you a PM because this review is getting out of hand as it is already.
Greeeeat chapter!
:)
Author's Response: I don't accompany my writing with specific playlists, but that song would have probably made it on it, had I had one. (In fact, I do have that song. lol)
That being said, I love it when readers get it; when something I write inspires thought. It was indeed a large step for them, as much as it was only a tiny one on the road they still have ahead of them, a complicated one at that.
Thank you for your readership!
Eva

I loved this, I would really love to see how things would progress. Any thoughts of a sequel??
Author's Response: It does me well to hear that you enjoyed it :) There are no thoughts of a sequel, but I'm working on the next chapter. Their story is just beginning :)
Thank you!

Well I googled gutsy girl and LMAOed when I saw that your Cosmo test was totally real. I dont read Cosmo, I dont even know if they have an UK version of it so I took the test. Apparently I am "so-gutsy chick"! According to Michelle DeAngelis this is a very good thing so i will take it.
Now, I dont know if crying her heart out helped bella to overcome her hesitation or if it was the fact they were speaking on the phone instead of face-to-face but bella didnt sound socially retarded at all. She was brave and funny and witty. I was shocked. I can only imagine Edward! Huh!
Do you know what i am enjoying about this fic? the fact that there are real issues that are holding them back. I can take angst. In fact, it makes the happy moments even more enjoyable when they finally come, but what i can't take is unnecessary drama... to a point that i drop the fic like a bomb. Life is too short!
Anyway, this was the best chapter so far im my opinion. Not only because of bella's positive attitude but because the whole "wrong assumptions" thing made the characters more real to me. Difficult to explain but it was just such a natural reaction from edward to be worried about how things will play in "real life", i mean to say, their real life. well, you get what i mean. Sometimes authors forget that just because it is fanfiction it doesnt mean that their characters don't need to act like human beings.
I mean, have you never read a fic and wondered "Come on, NO-ONE acts like that!"
Well, I did many times but I am pleasantly surprised that you somehow managed to avoid this line. And I thank you for that. :)
Author's Response: Hahahaha ir said I was a "so-gutsy chick" too! ;)
For Bella it is a combination of both. Emptying her heart lifted such a weight off her, and Edward being on the other side of the country makes him less threatening. Your "shock" made me smile lol. Yes, she is capable of normal human interaction ;)
And yes, I do know those fics that are a trainwreck. One was ruined by it not too long ago. Beautifully written...but just...too much. Life's too short indeed. I won't pretend that my fic wasn't heading that way ;) but I hope I caught myself in time.
From the bottom of my heart I appreciate your comments, for they are well thought through and honest :) it is readers like you who make writing worth while. And so I thank you for your critcism and for your compliment, for it means thus the more.
Sincerely,
Eva

well, if bellla wasn't sure that edward was serious about her she shouldbe now. After all her craziness and him driving in the middle of the night to hol her while she cried.. well.. he means business...
bella's bad experience with Daniel was awful, indeed. it makes it worse because she was naive so i am sure she took i harder than a mature woman would. poor innocent bella...
Author's Response: You are very right. I have read reviews saying that she was taking the experience too harshly. After all everyone gets burnt once or twice...but the experience with Daniel was so awful, BECAUSE she was naive. It was her first experience with a man and because of that branded her. And guarded as she is, she never really got over it.

Finally bella!! God, she did something right!!
And kudos to Rosalie, she might be a bitch but she knows when prioritise and put her bitchness aside to take care of those she loves.
Author's Response: I love how you say "Kudos to Rosalie" instead of "kudos for writing Rosalie". I take it as a great compliment that a character comes to life to you :) Thank you

Eva, i think you really want me to hate bella.. boy, it is passed the time for her to put her shit together. come onnnnnnnnn! Nobody can be that stupid...
Author's Response: I really don't want you to hate Bella, Moni_MD ;) I hate writing black and white hateful or lovable charachters... that's not what people are. Always the good with the bad. Always. She is not stupid...just not very brave...and by this time you know why.

i really like Laren's no nosense attitude. We have a lot in common.. (never thought i'd say that).
And god, I'd pay any money to see an octopussy with 8 testicles... though I am sure I'd not able to ever sleep again... haha!
But hey. what is going on with Bella? Boy, the woman is all over the place!! From EPOV doesn't look cute at all...
Author's Response: I am glad you like the no nonsense Lauren. Rough around the edges as she might be, she means well. As for Bella...she's struggling alright.

God, that was so impolite of her!! I am in total shock! And how dense can she be? The guy is inviting you out, Bella!!! Come on, woman!!He google you out!! hello??
Yeah, she is acting like a total groupie.. a 16 year old one, for that matter. Sad, infuriating but uderstandable. And who am I to critise?
Granted, i never had a movie star invinting me on a date but a had a totally absurdly gorgeous and wayyyy out of my league guy wanting to date me, and really took e a while to even get used to the idea, though in my defense I did so while dating him. But yeah, just like Bella i was very self-concious, not daring to hope he really meant the good things he said and just waiting for the next shoe to drop.
So, I will take it easy on Bella.. :)
Author's Response: Bella is by no means a perfect character. I'm not a fan of those, for as they lack flaws, they lack humanity. She is scared and excited at the same time... a thin line between the two.

Awww poor edward.. he just need some love. someone for himself... bloody lilly! but then what you expect considering she is Rosalie's child!! I mean, she wasn't even sorry she had dropped the phone on the whatever. she seemed old enough to realise what she did was wrong... little brat!
Author's Response: Yes, you are right about Edward feeling like a foreign object in a familiar setting. Lily is... a four year old combination of Rosalie's and Emmett's genes ;)

i really liked this first chapter... and i am sure everyone thought bella was a total idiot for not accepting his invitation. That was my first reaction too but you know what, it is understandable that she'd feel intimidated by EC, considering her personality.
Author's Response:
Dear Moni_MD:
Have been receiving reviews from you on your way through this story and decided to wait till you reached the final stop to reply, but as I am in the middle of moving, and have a spare minute, I decided to catch up now.
Bella has gotten quite some critcism in this one. Part of it she deserves... part of it she does not. Yes, she is guarded. I'm not saying I am writing her as me, but as a rather guarded person myself, I have to sometimes climb over myself to let people in. And that's hard, even if you haven't been burnt.
