Dark Side of the Moon is the first Twilight fanfic I've read, and it is awesome. I absolutely love how you stay so completely canon in not only detail, but in character; it seems very Edward to me. Unfortunately, I'm writing this review weeks after I devored the entire series so far, so I can not pinpoint my exact favorite moments, but the whole thing is very good, highly entertaining, plus if feeds my Edward addiction;)

Keep up the good work! (And by that I mean, I need more!)

Reviewer: onePushyFox (Signed) · Date: September 10, 2009 07:25 AM · On: Awake

Perfect as always!  I particularly enjoyed the part where Jasper tells Edward that if Edward ever puts Alice in danger with the Volturi again, Jasper will end him.  It adds another alternative reality that Alice may have seen in BD and why she would have taken Jasper away from the Cullens.  Really interesting!!!!

Reviewer: Lily Cullen (Signed) · Date: September 10, 2009 05:30 AM · On: Awake

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, YOU ARE AMAZING.

Beyond amazing. Phenomenal. Only...

That was a freaking horrible place to end it. I hate you, stepheniemeyerindisguise.

But I love guessing right. I knew it was Jasper! Haha!

Well done. No long waits this time, 'kay?

I have been waiting for this chapter since I first read DSOM. It did not disappoint! I love the piece with Jasper. It never occured to me that would have to happen but of course jasper wouldn't let all of edwards actions go unnoticed. Awesome!

Reviewer: loquacious (Signed) · Date: September 09, 2009 10:51 PM · On: Preface

I was so very happy to see that you'd updated the story! I check every day. I'm impatient like that.

I do love how you write each individual character. Some writers seem to have a grasp of Edward OR Alice OR Carlisle, but you're the only one, I think, that has a good grasp on all of them.

But, I do have a criticism: Esme & Carlisle were away hunting when Alice had her vision. They didn't know about any of this until Alice, Bella, and Edward were on their way back from Italy.

Other than that, I think you did a great job getting in all the information and emotion surrounding Bella's "death". Thanks very much for sharing with us!

Author's Response:

That's what I thought, at first - that C&E were away - and how I wrote it the first time.  But reading 'Miscalculation' on SM's website - Rosalie complains that Carlisle and Alice warned her not to call Bella.  So I took from that that C&E were there for the vision, but then left.  They were definitely gone when Alice left for Forks, and hadn't returned when Alice called Rosalie.

I'm sure there's another way to interpret it, and I went round and round about whether or not they were there.  When Rose said "You and Carlisle were wrong," I took that to mean that Carlisle did know of Bella's death.  Since he was unavailabe by phone when he was hunting, I also assumed he was present when he found out.  But why would he leave?  That brings the story to Esme - that she needed time to grieve (and that's when they left).  Alice went to Forks shortly after that.

It definitely could have been different, but that's how I read it.  Check it out at http://www.stepheniemeyer.com/pdf/nm_extras_miscalculation.pdf

Thanks for reading - and for your attention to detail!

Awesome, well worth the wait!  Only 2 chapters left!  This is the way I feel New Moon should have been written, you do such a beautiful job with your writing!  I really liked Jasper confronting Edward about putting Alice in danger and letting him know how he felt, parts like this are missing from New Moon and should be told to successfully help the reader understand the whole story and you do that so well, and the angst, I love it!

Reviewer: letmesign (Signed) · Date: September 09, 2009 12:20 PM · On: Awake

Seriously, I tweeted you a couple times while reading this, but that doesn't even do your words justice. I wish I could just copy and past this entire chapter into a review and highlight every section, with notes about how awesome it is. From your vocabulary, to your word pictures, to Jasper and Edward's emotional battle, to the excuses behind what Edward says that I always wondered about, to the way he reads Bella's emotions versus how she actually felt in the real book...you have just encapsulated this story unbelievably well.

As sad as I am that it's ending soon, I'm so proud of you for writing this and making it something truly memorable and fantastic. I don't read many canon stories, but this is definitely the best I have ever read. thank you for posting it!

You did such a good job re-writing one of my favorite chapters from New Moon (the other being the break up which though hearbreaking was just so well done).  I really enjoyed that you added Jasper and gave us a way to see Edward's reaction to what happened after Alice's vision and Rose's phone call.

Reviewer: KissinCullens (Signed) · Date: September 09, 2009 07:12 AM · On: Awake

Reading your version of this chapter it made me realise just how bad Edward and Bella are at communicating with each other. They are both guilty of gratuitious editing of words and thoughts when it comes to clearing the air. As an outsider i dont understand why he cant say it plain and simple.

I cant understand why Edward who is over 100yrs old and has lived through all the social changes since then wont just spit out what he is thinking. What is so hard about admitting what an idiot you were from the start? Something like:

"I was an idiot, i made a huge error in judgement, i destroyed both of our happiness based on a flawed version of right and wrong. I screwed up, i lied to you, i broke your trust, i had the upper hand in the relationship and made bad choices for us. I'm not perfect. Can you ever forgive me?"

Having been around Bella for months, analysing everything she did or said, its amazing he wasnt aware of how insecure she was about the relationship. I think i forget at times just how 'Human' the Cullens are when it comes to their own feelings and choices. When Bella was thrown into the mix she viewed them all as Godlike beings, did they never catch on? She revered them. In almost every thing that mattered, she was infact a child. They really should have handled her with more care, Edward especially. His decision to remove himself completely from her life for her own good, damn that was a huge mistake. He cant remove her memories, or her involvement with the other Vamps who were aware of her. Its our experiences that define us. Her time with him would influence her on a fundamental level. Whether it be the knowledge of their world or even the after effects of a broken heart.

Wow, that woud be so freakin' fantastic if Jackson, or any of the other cast members, read this story! What an honor that would be! And if they actually reviewed ... I would die! *swoon*

The whole time I've read this story, I've been wishing that the entire cast and everyone working on the movie would read this story - it would certainly help where Edward is concerned - because there isn't much we know about Edward's feelings and doings throughout the six months that he's gone in the book - it's all Bella - but what we do have is everything that he told her when he's trying to wake her up. Which you have written beautifully here in this chapter! I love how you are inside his head, prefectly portaying everything that he could possibly be thinking and feeling!

And I can honestly say that - even without the cast reading this story - New Moon is going to be WAY better than Twilight ever was! I'm so excited to go see it! I can't wait! :D That trailer does not do it justice at all - it left me extremely sceptical. But that figures, most really good, captivating trailers have sucky movies, and the crappy trailers have awesome movies!I know, that probably sounds crazy, but I've found it to be true.

Okay, now on to actually review this chapter! :P

Jasper! I love you! Edward! I love you, too! Although I would've thought Jasper would never leave Alice's side for anything after her return, I like that he came to confront Edward about what he did to the family. Making him realize, and see, that not only was leaving Bella a huge mistake, but leaving his family was even worse. Go Jasper! And Edward knows how to fight back, power vs. power, and he fights dirty. Making Jasper feel everything he went through when he was told that Bella was dead; the loss, the emptyness he felt, the agony of not knowing having anythign to live for anymore, everything taken away in an instant.

All the while listening in on Charlie's thoughts of making sure that Edward never goes near Bella again - to go as far as throwing him in jail in he did hurt her at all physically - and hearing Dr. Gerandy's prognosis on Bella's sleeping form. I love the shout out to CSI while he's examining Bella's arm, hand and fingers! Gil Grissom, eat your heart out. Lol! That show is awesome! Grissom was the best character on the show! :D

Bella's sleep talking! I love it! And Jasper putting Edward in a sleep stupor to calm him down! Lol!

Like the monster I was, I hid in her closet. What an image! Lol! Yeah, he's a monster alright! And this is where he realizes that he doesn't thirst for her blood anymore, her blood has no affect on him after knowing what it's like to loose her - although he hasn't really figured that reasoning out yet without actually being around her when she's bleeding.

Reading this chapter - when they're talking and while he's trying to convince her that she's awake - it's like I'm reading this for the first time, like I've never read New Moon and don't know Bella's side of these conversations (even though I have the book sitting here in front of me, still closed)! You are absolutely amazing!

"Bella, I can't live in a world where you don't exist." ... "Before you, Bella, my life was like a moonless night.  Very dark, but there were stars-points of light and reason..."  The picture formed in my mind, and I felt the deep rightness of what I was saying.  "And then you shot across my sky like a meteor.  Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty.  When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black."  My chest ached, fighting the memory's intrusion yet again.  "Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light.  I couldn't see the stars anymore.  And there was no more reason for anything."

I absolutely love these lines. They've got to be some of my most favorite lines in the entire saga! I love how you've described Edward's feelings as he's saying these words. It's so perefect!

I'd never thought I'd be saying this, but the way you've ended this chapter was perfect as well! Almost exact with chapter 23 The Truth. Now it's off to the continuation of their conversation on the way to see his family, and the vote! Yay! I can't wait! :D

So there are, unfortunately, two chapters left. *sob* I hate to see this story end, yet I know it must sometime. Everytime I see you've updated I literally squeal with joy and do my own rendition of a seated happy dance (I'm glad I live alone, but yet everyone I know knows I'm absolutely crazy already) before I grab the kleenex box and start reading - and yes, with that Nickelback song choice, the kleenex box was a must have! So if I'm correct in thinking that you are somewhat following the context of the chapters in the book, the next chapter would be the Vote, of course, and the last would be the epilogue chapter of the Treaty? Ah, I would love to hear what goes on between Edward and Jake in that chapter, and with Charlie, through Edward's mind! What a treat that would be! :D

Have fun and good luck writing! And I hope to see another update soon! *Big Bear HUGS Emmett would be proud of* You deserve the love! :D

Author's Response:

I'm excited for the movie, too, though I hope they put out a 'GoTeamEdward' trailer to balance the Jacob one.  Fair is fair!

It's really funny how the tone of this chapter changed when seen from Edward's POV.  Bella's view was so warped by her perfect image of Edward and her own inadequacies that she can't see how much he loves her...till even the next chapter!  Edward at least considers that Bella loves him, and is royally frustrated with her slow human mind.  She won't wake up, and he talks a circle around his apology.  Yup, classic miscommunication.

SM put some great dialog in this chapter to work with.  The meteor speech was the inspiration for a lot of Edward's reaction when Bella was dead.

I ended this chapter close to where SM did - but on the line that meant more to Edward than Bella, I thought.  Edward won't see the vote as a threat, and he'll explain why, but Bella leaving?  That'd be the worst!

The working title for the next chapter is Revelations, though Epiphanies may usurp that role.  The epilogue will be titled Bad Blood - and not just for Jacob, either.  Should be fun, I think!

LOVE your book-length reviews - that's what I'll miss!  MWAH!

Beautiful! There are no words to describe how good this story is! Are you sure your name's not Stephanie? LOL You've managed to capture this unique spirit of the books, the thing that made us all fall in love with them. Thank you for that!

When I decide to reread SM's series I'm so rereading your story too as a rightful part of the series.

One more thing. Every time you update, you make me happy! You are my Number One Fave Author! I hope for new stories from you!

Powerful scene, the one with Jasper, I liked it a lot. Now we are getting to the vote. It is one of my favorite scenes (I don't remember if I ever told you) because it is soooo American. No Italian would ever think about it.

OMG!! I thought I was gonna die cuz the wait was so long. I checked everyday for an update. You really came thru!! This was amazing. I really have no words. I had sad tears and happy tears just like New Moon!

I am gonna be so sad after the 2 other chapters. I have read all your other stories and can't find anything that compares to your stories...meaning the quality of your writing. :(

Thanks for all you do for our entertainment! You are trully gifted!

You do such a wonderful job protraying Edward!! I know all good things must come to an end, but...I don't want this to end.. =(  But I also can not wait to see what storyline you will come up with next! (Any hints for us???)

Author's Response:

hahaha you want a hint?  Actually, it's time for another round of revision and queries on my original novel.  I'd love to get that out there, somehow.

As far as fanfiction - I have one project that I wrote a year ago that needs a huge update.  It's an AU with two new characters, but a few of the Cullens make appearances.  It centers around a vampire that Edward met during his rebellious years, and a human she's connected with.  I won't post it until it's completed though - no more month-long waits for updates!

I have an idea for another AU that's not ExB.  It's a big twist on the history of all the Cullens and parallels most if not all the events we know so well.  I have to flesh it out more before I spill on it...but it's definitely different.  Still vamps, though, and mostly canon characters...mostly.  Not sure if it'll be PG-13 or R + yet. 8-)

There's always the random one-shot that crosses my path:  the scene that won't leave me alone.  You never know when one of those will strike.

But I definitely need a break.  I can't wait for the movie to come out - this'll be done, so no writing during that week!  yay!

thanks so much!

Yay!  Over 1000 reviews!  Yay for you!

Wow....Jasper really had a lot to get off his chest, huh?  Seriously though, trying to guilt trip the King of Emo?  Did he really think that was gonna fly?? LOL!

Charlie...dear Charlie...so determined to hang Edward out to dry...little does he know Edward is in complete agreement with him. Had to chuckle at him hiding in the closet...waiting for Charlie to bail.

I've said it a million times before...(in every review I've left you on this story) that your grasp of Edward's inner voice is unfreakinbelievable. Every line just sounds so perfectly Edward, it blows me away.  You captured that kiss perfectly by the way....the way he describes how it feels to him....WOW!

Loved your song choices...as always....I put that Script song on my iPod months ago after I heard it the 1st time....because I thought it had such a neat sound.  To think of someone being that dedicated to getting the love of their life back.  That's Edward alright!

Ok, rambling again....can't believe there's only 2 chapters left (sniff) but I sure have enjoyed every moment of the ride.  Wish I would have been here from chapter 1!  :o)

Author's Response:

Love the rambling - so glad the kiss worked!  I wrote that a couple of different ways till it got my heart pounding!

Charlie...he really has it in for Edward.  And I can't blame him.  Hopefully I can put together a piece I wrote about his experience during the three days Bella was gone as an Extra - he had just as hard a time as Edward or Jasper!  Poor guy!  I sincerely hope I never find myself in his shoes...{goes to lock teenage daughter's bedroom door}.

Don't worry about not being here from the beginning - you're here now, and that's all that matters!  Thanks so much for the long, rambling reviews - keep it up!  8-D

Yay for this update!!  I loved the Jasper/Edward interaction - it seemed spot on character-wise and I really liked that you included that.  After all, it was Jasper's mate risking her life to go after Edward, and I would imagine Jasper would have some seriously strong feelings about that, especially when he's getting everyone else's reactions on top of his own.

The discussion they have after Bella wakes up is fantastic as well.  All of the emotions that both of them are going through are written amazingly, and I look forward to the next installment :)

Author's Response:

Thanks so much - I'm glad it sounded in character (always my goal).  The next installment will be interesting - juggling the thoughts of 6 other people is always daunting.  And Edward'a anger is still on a hair-trigger...Jasper will have his hands full, I think!

thanks so much for reading and reviewing!

Magnificent as always!  I never really thought about what Jasper would feel about Edward endangering Alice, that was awesome.  When Edward finally shared his pain over Bella's death with Jasper, I could really feel it!  Thanks!

Author's Response:

Edward carries that pain with him from now on - it colors everything for him.  I'm sure that's not the only taste Jasper gets of it, but it might be the biggest.  8-)

thanks for the review!
