Wow, this chapter, and the previous ones are soo... *sniffle* ...awesome! And the songs that you've chosen (especially the 2 for this chapter) are so perfect. i was crying to much while listening to them that i couldn't read the story till they were over. Lol! *sob*
I hate this book with a passion, but your story is so good! And so well written! I just have to remind myself that it all turn out better in the end, and that this part (Edward leaving) is necessary for that happy ending to happen.
Thank you for writing this story! Now, on to find out what Carlisle and Edward talk about before he leaves Bella for what he thinks will be forever....

I don't even have the words to describe how amazing this is...I really can't explain how much I love this story. You are an amazing writer, to take another's characters and continue their story staying "in character" the way you do is phenomenal! I only thought I cried alot when I read New Moon, I really don't think I stopped crying from the time of Bella's party until chapter 8 and then still I would tear up at so many other areas because of his pain. The snippets from future chapters you posted are wonderful I can't wait for those chapters. I am so glad that I know the outcome or I don't think I could have gotten through all the pain. I just want to hug him and tell..no scream at...him to stop being stupid and go back to her already. You are my favorite Fanfic author by a wide margin. I love that all your stories I have read so far have stayed so in character. Can't wait for the rest!!

Thanks so much! I know it's tempting to scream at Edward, and Alice tried that. The poor guy is just trying to do what's right. And he pays so much for his mistake...
I think we're almost to the end of the really sad part - we'll see what else Edward has up his sleeve!

WOW, wow wow wow!!! I thought my heart broke for Bella reading New Moon. My tears never stopped flowing through this whole chapter. The music you picked was perfect for it, I'm adding the songs to my iTunes collection as I type. Amazing...you captured Edward perfectly. I once read that the only story Stephenie Meyer felt needed to be told from EPOV was Twilight (hence Midnight Sun) but I have always wanted to read EPOV in New Moon. I am eager to read chapter 9 so I'll make this short, but WOW!!!

Victoria seems to be smarter then Edward thinks, I hope he's going to be okay.... but I suppose that's a stupid thing to say considering we know the out come. Plus it's probably the greif he's going to feel when he receives the phone call from Rosalie that we should be most worried about! Bless him. Just having that small snippet in this chapter has gotten me convinced that it's going to be just as heartbreaking if not more so to read as 'The End'.
Do you have an idea of how many chapters you'll be writting? It seems to me that it could go on for quite a while... but maybe that's just my wishful thinking. he he. ;)

Author's Response: I don't have a chapter count...two more before he gets the call - then SM already wrote that, up to a point. One when he goes to the Volturi, one when Bella finds him, one for the trip home, maybe one when she's asleep for 14 hours (that might not be a whole chapter). One when she wakes up, I might combine that with the Vote...we'll see. Then the epilogue. How many is that? It just depends on how much Edward has in store for me...and the other characters have a bit of input, too.

Wow, that was a brilliant chapter once again. The will power Edward has in fanominal! I don't think I'd be able to keep on talking myself to stay away. Especially with Alice and Carlisle batting for the other side. O.O
I can only imagine how hard it is for you to constantly write such angst! There's not let up at all. How do you do it? Or is Edward's constant battle yours as well? Are you trying to stop yourself from rewriting New Moon into a quicker, happier ending? LOL
Author's Response: This story has been in progress for months - I can't write it straight through without taking some breaks. And I have pieces written all over...the chapter when Edward goes to Italy is already written (though will have to be updated before getting posted). I just have to fill in the blanks... 8-)

I love the chase! It should deffinately keep him occupied indeed. Poor Edward, having to constantly force himself not to turn back! That's almost too horrible to read. Having him convince himself over and over again and always with the most negative view of himself! :(
If feel like saying 'You should turn back!' lol But of course he wont. Damn it. *sigh* It's funny, I have to keep on reminding myself of the happy ending otherwise I think I'd get too depressed read it! he he
As always, Edward is completely in character! Which is even more remarkable now that you're flying solo, so to speak. I love the idea of him impulse buying a fast car. Almost as if he wishes he could out run and drive Bella's memories. Bless him.

OMG! your song choices are the same i thought of too!!!! Check out some of finger elevns songs on thier cd them vs us vs you there are a few on there that remind me of Bella and Edward....You have a gift for writing and capturing all the characters of Twilight.. I know a lot of people relate to the story and I am one of them it reminds me soooo much of a past love but unfortunately for me i didn't get my happy ending.......

That was beyond heartbreaking, that was heartaching! It was like I could feel his pain. It was stunningly written and the way it entertwined itself with New Moon was just flawless! Especially his thoughts and reasonings behind lies to bella, like with the way he used reverse phsycology because her reasoning is always backwards. That was very clever and made perefct sense!
*sigh* Poor Edward.... but at least we know that their's hope in the end! Especially since reading those teasers, they sound brilliant! >.<
Author's Response: Ah, the reverse psychology thing came about because of Midnight Sun! She always answered opposite of what he was thinking, so it made perfect sense here. I hope Stephenie finishes MS, I think it's her best work so far!

*sob* Every chapter just gets more and moe heartbreaking. I dread to think what I'll be like when I read 'The End'! Edwards decision was so wrong in so many ways and although I understand it more now it doesnt make it feel any better! Especially when we know how she is after he's left and that she doesn't just get over him as he hoped. *sigh*
Anyway great chapter as usual! I'm looking forward to read what Edward and Carlisle's chat is about. I would say that i hope Carlisle changes his mind but of course I know better then that! *sighs again*
Author's Response: If Edward had known that Bella would fall into such dispair, I'm sure he would have done something different. But since Bella was found by a werewolf - Alice couldn't see her future! Tricky tricky...
If only we could change Edward's mind...but that'd be a different story 8-)

It's so good to be able to read the Cullen family's reaction to Edwards decision! It's amazing to think that this was completely your own work since it was completely passed by in the book and yet it still holds true to character! That's a great testiment to your writing ability and understanding of the characters!
*sigh* Poor Edward.... I can tell that he's not going to know happiness for a while. I'm almost scared about how much angst this is going to have in.....but of course not enough to stop me from reading. lol.

Wow, that was fantastic to be able to see everything else that happened! I love the way you had Jasper trying to run away from Edward, scared of his reactions. Althought it's horrible to see him waring with his family like that.
I can really understand Edwards decision now. You've written Edwards pov so well that his thoughts and all of his families thoughts really help justify leaving her. Poor Alice though, when the future finally does become clear. I can't wait to read about her reactions.
Once again, great chapter!.... I have a feeling I'm going to be saying that alot this story. he he.
Author's Response: YAY! One of the reasons I felt compelled to write this story at all was all the badmouthing people were giving poor Edward for leaving. His one and only reason that he loved Bella so much and had to keep her safe, even from him. It's tough...

Aww bless him! It's brilliant to read this pivitol scene in Edwards pov and really revealing. I never thought that the blood would effect him in such a strong way too. I guess Jasper's response just over shadowed everyone else, so as I say it's brilliant to see it in a new light. Not to mention to understand why Jasper lost control like that! I didn't think at all that he'd feel the thirst off of everyone else as well! O.O Bless him. That must have been horrible!
Fantastic chapter! You are so true to character that it doesn't just feel like a fan fiction, it feels real!
Author's Response: I've always felt that Jasper was affected by the others' thirst, though as someone pointed out, not the physical sensation, more of the pure bloodlust. I have a real soft spot for him - I think he beats himself up, thinking he's weak, but really he has so much more to deal with. He'll be back later...he and Edward still need to clear the air... 8-)

This whole story is excellent - but I knew it would be after reading First Light :-) It's great to see all the events in NM from Edward's perspective. Plus, I love stuff from Edward's POV because you get to hear inside everyone else's head too (loved Midnight Sun draft for the same reason). Please keep updating.
Oh, and the scene with Emmett in Newton's store with the baseball bat is priceless!! :-D

This is really, really amazing. The writing captures Edward so fantastically, and the little facts added in there (like how Emmett would be mad at Edward for passing up a moose and Alice hunting for bargains) make it even more realistic.
Author's Response: I love putting in little tidbits about the other characters. I think we'll hear something about Carlisle in the next chapter - we'll see what Edward comes up with!
