I always wondered why he took her to the forest of all places to break up with her and I think you came up with a brillian explantation.

Anyway, great, but terribly sad, chapter!

Another amazing chapter. Again loving how you show his indecision.

The family reaction's to his decision were just right for them as well.

Silly old Edward should just listen to Alice - but we all know that doesn't happen!

Really great chapter - you really showed Edward's anguish but also his indecision towards the end. Even though he thinks the best thing for her is to leave her and he thinks his made up his mind, clearly a little bit of him loves her to much to let her go.

I love the bit at Newton's - a bit of fluff before all the expected angst

Great story, really enjoyed seeing things from Edwards POV!

I should not be reading this story when I am ill as I am already getting weepy so how I am going to get through the rest I really dont know!!

Wonderful story so far though, it feels very real and what I expect Edward was going through in New Moon.

Off to read the rest...

wow, this is the best ever story anyone has written from edward's point of view.this must have taken a lot of time and imagination.everything has been covered in such great detail, and very logical explanations given for what we didn't know from 'New Moon'.i do wish you could write 'Eclipse' from EPOV,but i understand it would take too much time.so now i will find out which stories you have written (as mentioned earlier) with that background and read them.thanks a lot! i am definitely going to reread this story.

hey, this is good, like a proper bok.usually people just flip the story a little, keeping the dialogues as they were of course.i can see i am going to enjoy it.

OMG! How do they do it??!! I can't figure out how to completely erase the signs of my living anywhere for an extended period and I bounced around from place to place for three years. Mail, phone logs, bills, people, food or clothes shopping... there is always someway to connect me to something or someplace. That is amazing!

And, yes. I definitely picked up on the hint of Jacob- as a wolf- in the woods.

I've never really given much thought to all the ways Charlie had to have lost his mind while Bella was away from Forks. I don't have any children of my own- hopefully that still a ways off for me- and I don't think I can fully understand what he had to feel. I guess that's a sign of my youth and selfishness, right? At some point, growing up takes on the form of selflessness... being a parent and living for your children, for your family, and putting yourself last.

This was a really powerful perspective to read. In fact, I think this is the best 'Charlie' moment I've ever read. It really makes him real and not just a secondary character. Parents are not a focus of the SM tale, but just as important as those parental relationships that get touched on are the people that embody those traits.

Young people read the books and don't see past what apparent story before them. With DSotM, you give proof that every tale is 3-dimensional and multifaceted. This outtake, is breath-taking.

"Your girl will be spending the next few hours surrounded by bats, balls, racquets, fishing rods, and pop-up tents... I can't wait to see her demonstrate an elliptical trainer." His mind filled with images of Bella destroying the store, knocking over displays and getting tied up in netting. And in the middle of it was Newton, trying to help but receiving several lumps and bruises in the process.  Emmett laughed as he imagined Newton explaining his injuries to Carlisle in the emergency room." - hysterical!!!!!

Emmett in Newton's store was just priceless and so clever! You showcased the funny, teasing, loving and protective Emmett as well as the jealous, possessive, protective and loving Edward. You also managed to through in a proud, annoyed Bella and a scared and worried Mike and still you made it all hilarious! You're gifted!

Nice start. Even though I've read other fics featuring EPOV of New Moon this one seems to have a whole different level of quality. Must keep reading now to see if my first impression was right.

I loved the line about Edward throwing Bella to the wolves!

Reviewer: RichelleCullen (Signed) · Date: March 02, 2010 03:02 PM · On: Outtake: Missing

Poor, poor Charlie.  We sigh over Edward but I can see how a stand up kind of guy, a protective father like Charlie would HATE how controlling Edward can be.  Great job at getting into Charlie's head.

Great. Why don't you take a hike so she can try it out?

Did he just snort at me?

OMG, I totally laughed out loud when I'd read those lines.  Loved it!

Robin, this was a wonderful chapter; what a cool surprise!  Of course the Cullens would be totally thorough in covering their tracks, but it was nice to see how they were meticulous in doing so.  Even if Forks is a rinky-dink town, I always imagined as Police Chief and father, Charlie would be thorough in his own trying to locate his daughter.  Excellent!

And JFTR, of course you had my vote for the Eddie's and Bellie's.  Good luck!

Your writing is wonderful.  I enjoyed reading this so much.

Please do the other books as well if you can.  I would love to read them.

I'm pretty sure i caught all those things. Great outtake! Thank you for writing it. And was that a line from Princess Bride in there? Love that movie!

This was a great story. I found myself unable to tear away from the computer screen.  It keep me entertained and wanting to read more and more.  It stayed true to Edward's character and emotions.  Definitely a fav of mine and will read again :)  Keep up the good writing!!!!

Sorry, I forgot to mention a couple of things...first I voted for you in all of your categories (novel, canon, best missing moment, and short fiction)- congrats on the nomination and I hope you win!  Also, another favorite part was wqhen Charlie was flipping channels and every other channel there was something to remind him of Bella (kids that runaway for love, John, I'm taking MARIE - nice one!) and then of course, the piece de resistance - the Princess Bride quote about the ROUS's - "I don't believe they exist."  Ha - you couldn't have picked a more fitting movie quote!  Excellent writing as always!

I loved it!  It was nice to have a surprise update for DSotM waiting - it was interesting to see it from Charlie's point of view.  Was Jacob's woldf cameo when Charlie was a zombie and thought he saw something in the tree?  I liked the conversation at the end when Edward snorts at Charlie's thought about Edward taking a hike so Bella can try out his LA number.  And when he suggests Alaska for school and Bella surprises him by saying "Hey, yeah, how about Alaska?" and Edward grimaced, which made Charlie happy...if he only knew why Bella was so excited by Alaska and Edward was grimacing...LOL Thanks for the update!

I love a good alternate POV and you do them brilliantly.  Thanks.

LOVED the Charlie POV, Blondie! You are one creative, sneaky chick with all the ways that the Cullens covered their tracks - and I figured it was Jake in the woods by the house when Charlie thought he saw something - great work! I've enjoyed every minute of the story and I'm sorry that it's over!

I was so excited to get an update from Dark Side of the Moon - makes me want to read it all over again.

Loved this chapter - you do Charlie so well!! I felt so bad for him.  The scene w/Jacob and Billy was great. I caught Jacob's cameo, but have to think some more about the Cullen's covering their tracks - only caught the obvious ones (files and phone records).  Who is G. Randall?  I'll have to reread!!

It was awesome.  Keep writing!!

Marvelous! We've been talking with my friend about the fact that as Charlie is a police chief he must have tried to find Bella when she went missing. It's just natural that he didn't find anything - the Cullens are just too good with this :)

While I enjoyed the story very much I have to say that I would have expected Charlie to suspect more. I mean when he met dead-end all the time ... but then again, when he got Bella back I doubt that he got any other thoughts in his head save Bella's well-being.

Still, next update includes the talk with Agent Steel and maybe he tells Charlie something. Suspicions arise when nobody knows anything of the Cullens :D :D :D

Thank you for the update, it was a wonderful surprise! :)
