I think Jasper was already the better man when his parent dumped him by the road. It's typical Esme and Carlisle to include Jasper without further ado into their family.

Poor Jasper....I absolutely love Carlisle and how he never even thought twice about taking Jasper in and making him part of the family.

Wow, that was awesome.  When I read what this outtake was about I was admittedly apprehensive about reading it.  I thought it would just be depressing.  But you did an awesome job with it.  It turned out to be about blessings and family and love rather than dissertion and loss.  Jasper's parents are a prime example that just because people have children does not necessarily mean they deserve them.  They did not deserve Jasper, and Jasper and the Cullens deserved each other.  And this Carlisle, one of the best Carlisles that I have ever read.  Really great outtake!  Thanks for sharing!

Quite an eye opener....I cannot imagine a parent doing that to their child.  Between Alice and Jasper, their parents are awful!

Carlisle and Esme are incredibly wonderful, loving parents and they raised and equally wonderful son in Edward.  How many boys would be jealous of sharing their parents.  I hurt for Jasper but he really is better off that they left him. 

I heart Jasper - I just want to grab him and hug him hard.

I heart Carlisle - He sayes the most perfect things.

Loved that! Jasper's parents are dickish cowards. Even though the way they abandoned him was really shitty, I'm glad they did, because Jasper is way better off with out the paternal people!

Poor Jasper, being left on the side of the road like that.  I can't believe his parents put all that on his shoulders.  That's awful.  Most parents would find any way possible to stay with their child and they just discarded him like trash.  I guess in the end though, they did the right thing for Jasper.  Who knows what would have happened to him if he stayed with his parents.  They just went about it the completely wrong way.

I thought this chapter was lovely! I especially liked the quote in the middle. It explains a lot about what kind of man Jasper aspires to be.

That was really fantastic! It caught the balance between the embarrasment Jasper felt at being discarded, the immediate (and careful) acceptance put forth by the Cullens, and the awkward transition from temporary to permanent settling that took place over the first year and beyond. As much as I am looking forward to having Edward leave his job and Bella get her own restaurant (my own personal prediction), this was a great scene to tide us over until the next chapter comes pouring over that writer's block dam! We've missed you! :o)
