As a fellow redhead and total team Edward groupie can i just say "please sir ,can i have some more".
As much as i love the eventual happy ending of all things Twilight, your story is exactly how i thought Eclipse should go. The one flaw in it for me was always Bella's selfishness when it came to seeing Jacob and her ignorance to see the hurt it caused Edward, she was kind of a spoilt brat at times. I know why SM did it in the end because of Nessie, but at the time it was painful.
So it's nice to see someone even just for fun, put things the right way and "kick Jacob to the kerb" so to speak. Apologies all Team Jacob fans , but this red heads heart lies with Edward.
Thanks again, beautiful writing and i know i've gone on a bit ,but i am literally salivating at the thought of where this could go. More soon PLeeeaaasseee..
Author's Response: Damn right. Redhead's unite! I often think I would like Bella far more if she was a fellow ginger;) She'd still be a brat, but perhaps a slightly more perceptive one. I would have gotten back to you sooner, but I somehow thought you might want the new chapter more :)
Thanks for the review hon!

this is it! *rolls up her sleeves*
*grabs her copy of eclipse*
*pulls out the last few pages*
*prints the chapters of 'atlas shrugged'*
*attaches the pages to the book where the pages were torn*
*smiles widely*
I love your story...ok, that's an understatement. the mature handling of every character, the way you keep everyone in character while at the same time evolving them into something more, something so beautiful , it's just amazing. add to that your, and at times poetic, lucid style of writing , the pace of the story that you've set - neither dragging nor rushed- it's very difficult to find all of this in one fan-fic!
Bella's realisation that every mistake she makes is not okay and, moreover , can not be mended by self-deprecation and childish tears is a welcome change, and a very long awaited one too!(alas, it never came in eclipse, which, ofcourse, explains the fit i threw above^^). she always needed to mature and see edward for what he really was, her lover, not a pacifier for times when she turned into a hosepipe (okay, i'm overstating it a bit but i am angry at the eclipse-bella!) . As her lover, she needed to accept his claim on her, even if the claim for undemanding to the point of being non-existent. ( and to think that bella was jealous thinking about tanya showing interest! ). i'm getting everything i wished for in eclipse here!
I also love the fact that you are making edward face his demons and consequently his low opinion of himself . Edward and bella are growing as people, and maturing into two people who are not only each other's soul but also people who know those souls.
this is beautiful!

So I sort of full-out love this story. My biggest Bella-Hate in the books came from her actions after kissing Jacob...and the crying for hours and hours about Jake while Edward is holding her?...Gah! I really disliked her at that point. I've never EVER said this about another fan-fic...but I wish this was what had happened in the books instead. You're brilliant! And so is your sister, because this story is The. Best!

I just want to say that Edward's speech resonates in my own life. I have been struggling to give words to my own feelings, and you have done so so succintly and beautifully. Your story is powerful, emotional, and wonderfully written. I love the literary references. Your writing is definitely something to be admired.
Author's Response: Anytime someone writes something and learns that it resonates in someone's personal life, I can't see how they could be anything but humbled. I am incredibly touched that it helped you elucidate your feelings. Thank you for not only reading, but sharing that with me.

Just found this story and really appreciate the depth and intensity of your writing. Looking forward to E&B's relationship moving forward...and wonder how she'll deal with Jacob and shut him down.
Author's Response: Thanks :)
Jake will be addressed, but I'm focusing more on her dealing with Edwardin regards to Jacob more than anything. I'm going to have to work up the desire to pay any attention to Jake in and of himself ;) haha

I really enjoyed the interaction with all the Cullens, especially once Rosalie joined in. For one, Rose's acceptance means Bella really is a Cullen, and two, while most fanfics portray her as a superficial bitch, you've created a very perceptive, brutally blunt, but still loving/loyal woman. She's my kind of girl.
I don't know if it was in this last chapter, but the line about Carlisle streaking was effing hilarious. Funniest picture in my head. Because Carlisle is ever appropriate, always doing what's good and right and then you made me picture him streaking. Love it.
Look forward to seeing Bella/Edward deal with the hard stuff and learn to find this balance. Would also love to see a little of this non-so-repressed Edward in action :-)
Author's Response: Rosalie is my kind of gal too. I don't know why, but I've always had a love for her, despite there being little no reason to in the books. I think perhaps from the get-go, I replaced book Rose with this version, and now I finally get to let her come out and play. She doesn't need to say much, but s you said, she's so brutally blunt she doesn't need to be long winded. (Kind of a far cry from our Edward who likes to wax on eloquently;))
I'm glad you're enjoying this, because I'm having a blast writing it. :)

I absolutely loved this - to show Edward as a "man" with feelings my heart was breaking for him! Can't wait to read the next chapter.

Wow I'm really liking this. Usually, its hard for me to read so much in-the-head narration-- I like to get to the dialogue. But I like this. I love that she realized that Edward isn't immune to insecurities, and that the many ways she pushed him and pushed boundries hurt him. And I love Rosalie's assessment of the the whole situation. But mostly, I love that Bella has the grow up. Now it's her turn to prove her love and heal Edward. All throughout SM's books, Bella drove me crazy b/c she was immature and self-centered (until Renesmee) and Edward was just continually loving and understanding. I like that you're forcing her to be Edward's equal without being a vampire-- by simply owning up to her faults and seeing Edward as he really is. By loving him the way he loves her. Love this.

I loved the scene with Jasper and how Bella finally got that she really didn't "know" any of them. As for what she has planned with Alice-I'm sort of stumped. Maybe them getting intimate, maybe the wedding?
Author's Response: My lips are sealed :) he he

your writing is amazing, i have loved each chapter ths far, but this one holds a special place for me. in sm's books, i always felt that bella deevolved from a position of maturity and strength to a meaker less sure character. it was a change i never understood and certainly didn't like. i love that inyour story she is starting to hold her own with the cullens, a necessity in a family this big.
and i love your jasper. i always felt that he and bella would have been great friends, you know, after they brushed off that whole snacking incident, and without edward overprotecting as he is prone to. the conversation between b & j here really painted the interchange between than i have envisioned.
i just can't wait to see what's next. i know there will be more tears, because you can't fix things of this proportion in one day. but i do know it will be good.
Author's Response: i'm glad you know it will be good! i so wanted people to read my story, and now that people actually are I'm kind of freaking out and thinking, "oh god now it actually has to be good!" I can't promise that it will be, just that I'll try my damndest to make it so.
I'm incredibly relieved Atlas Jasper is being well received. He could go in so many directions, and before I started to write all I knew is that he was going to be blaring Al Green and comment on the preposterous notion of E/B having a healthy relationship. The rest of Jasper just fell into place from there. I agree with you that he and Bella could be pals, they're both reserved but witty. Or Jaz could be if he was allowed to speak in the books. hah.
Thanks for reviewing hon!

Katie,
To answer your previous question, yes, Bella is 5'4", I promise. And if you're curious about the rest of them... Edward is 6'2", as is Carlisle. Jasper is 6'3" and Emmett is 6'5". Esme is 5'6", Rosalie is 5'9" and our darling Pixie, Alice is 4'10". This information is courtesy of SM, as she is the only one who truly knows.
Now for my continued review of this story. I don't write well enough to adequately compliment you. Not nearly well enough, that's certain. I don't know what you do for a living, but if you are not an author professionally, you should be.
I liked just about everything, especially the fact that Jasper and Bella were able to talk, which rarely happened in the books. Also, that the Cullens are starting to be completely themselves around delicate little human Bella. I also like that Edward was able to go hunt, which he needed for his recovery and for his strength to return.
Small dislike, but it's being picky, I'm sure. In the 2nd chapter I'm not sure Bella would be able to lie that well, especially on the fly with Charlie, but it worked and painted the picture that needed painting of what happened, so it's still excellent writing.
Please continue. Writing as completely awe-inspiring as yours is, should be seen and read... often.

While I was reading I thought that this chapter was just right, as a breather , as you point out, and because to have Edward means to have his whole family, eventually. So, very good interaction and a very good Jasper, who is seldom addressed, unless as an object of desire.

awww, i love this.
CULLEN KID INTERACTION FTW!
I lovelovelove the way you did Jasper. Now i see why he married Alice! <3
basically, All the Cullens are super fantastic, and you write them perfectly.
Author's Response: *PHEW!* THANK YOU!
I worried like no other about getting Jasper right. And I never got the A/J relationship in the books because they were so crazy different...like to the extent they shouldn't work at all. So I wanted to show them in particular, but all the Cullens in particular, as having a common thread of loyalty, love, compassion, and serious snark;)
Thanks for reviewing!

I'm really enjoying this. I love how you are taking on the bits of their relationship that always bothered me. Love how you portrayed Jasper!! After the last couple of chapters, I really enjoyed the laughs in this one. Can't wait to see how they respond to Bella's question at the very end!
Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the reprieve from the intensity. I thought we could see a different side of Bella's maturity and get a few laughs out of it as well :)

Okay this chapter was just effing funny!!!!! A naked Carlisle streaking through the house??!!! OMG I laughed out loud on that one, *wipes tears away from eyes* And I love your Jasper, he is hilarious! I LOVE JASPER!!!! He is my favorite Cullen apart from Edward of course. "Sex bomb" oh that is just too funny for description. You were right in you A/N, we did need a comic relief break from all the seriousness in the last couple chapters. Bella truly needed to regroup and think through all the things that she and Edward proclaimed. I love how you explained Edward's sudden foul mouth as that his filter was just so broken with everything he was feeling and experiencing he couldn't hold back the cursing. Course doesn't really bother me, I thought his proclamation was sexy as hell. Take out coyote couldn't sustain last long especially if he and Bella have been having some heavy make out session going on. Great chapter can't wait for the next one!
I love that the relationship between Bella and Rose has changed from the original saga. I like it alot!!! Rose is still atagonistic and blunt but she seems to have developed a healthier respect for Bella and vice versa. I love their snarky interaction through out the last couple chapters.
I really liked it when Bella called Jasper "Dr. Strangelove" that was funny and the references to needing either Freud or Dr Phil. Classic. I like that Jasper is the one to explain to Bella that she has to find balance with her relationship and not equality. I think that is what is missing in their relationship she felt like she had to become something else to be his equal and that is not the case. I also like that she has no intention of emasculating Edward and not allowing him to be the Man in their relationship but that she wants to find that balance where they are partners and both making decisions that affect both of them. Love it Love it Love it!
Okay as far as what Alice and Bella are planning I am afraid to make a guess. I would like to think that she pictured their wedding and that Alice is going to plan it out just as Bella visioned it but I don't want to let my own desires for that to be the case cloud my perception of the story. I will try to patiently what and see where you are taking this story. Great job again!
Oh almost forgot. I laughed out loud with Alice asking Bella to stop with the bastardizing of the pronouns. Loved that too!
Author's Response: Wow, I kinda love you. You got absolutely everything I was trying to do in this chapter. So much so that when the questions regarding things start rolling in, I may just copy/paste this to them. I have nothing to add or explain from your review because you're so spot on. So instead, get your ass over to the AU forums and say hi on the Atlas thread. I'd love to talk to about all this!
Thanks hon!

Ohh!! I liked this chapter so much! A little Cullen family time does a world of wonders in terms of lifting my spirits, and after these last few chapters (heck the whole story up to this point!), I definitely needed some levity. Bravo on your fantastic writing style. How the hell do you get the Engligh language to cooperate like this for you?!
Anyway, it is so true that Bella's perspective on the different family members was a little off. She never really understood Jasper; even in the end of BD she questions Edward as to why Jasper is hanging around her so much. If she truly understood him she would realize the truth behind his attentiveness. Jasper is my favorite Cullen by far (aside from the "Repressed One"--awesome nickname!), so it was such a treat to read their interaction.
Your Bella rocks. She still has a lot of growing and learning to do--esp. with regards to understanding what it means to be "equals" with Edward--but in the meantime I think this path to self-enlightenment has been spot-on.
Sorry, no criticism from me. :) And I have no clue as to what Alice is going to do. I'll have to read other people's guesses.
Thanks for the super fast update!
Author's Response: This is another tickle-me-pink reviews.
While nearly everything in BD irked me, I thought Bella asking about Jasper being a creeper was a true sign of how insensitive and oblivious she had become. Granted I thought all the characterizations were off in that story, so I wanted each Cullen to be distinct from the other, and offer their own brand of insight and humor. I personally love the Cullen family, and if Bella is going to be with Edward, she's got to *be* a Cullen. That can't happen if she doesn't relate to them on any level or know them at all. It also worked out that they're a funny family, and as you said, provided much needed levity.
Thank you so much for reviewing, and come on over to the AU section of the forums and say hi on the Atlas thread!

I love how you're developing the other Cullen personalities. This portrait of Jasper is much more textured than I had seen him before, and he's got so much more wisdom and laid back wit as you paint him. This chapter is a good breather from all the intensity of the last two. Bella's maturing and understanding a lot, but we can't expect her to graduate with a PhD tomorrow. And same with Edward; he may be allowing himself to believe that Bella really does love him, but decades of insecurity don't fade overnight, and it's probably unrealistic that both Edward and Bella will slip a little in the coming chapters. Just don't let them slip to far!!! It's such a relief to see some progress!!
So I guess Bella's thinking of letting Alice do some wedding planning...
