Love the story, hated the cliff. I read through your responses to some of the reviews and now I think I do understand the ending better. Please don't leave us hanging too long.

Author's Response:

Yeah, the cliff was a bit cruel, wasn't it? I'm new to these things, I kinda like being mean, but at the same time I hate it when it's done to me. I doubt I'll employ the technique too often, but it needed to be said, and if I delved into the issue, that chapter would've been unwieldy.

I'm glad my responses clarified things a bit for you, but if you have any more questions, come on over to the forums. I'll happily answer any of them. :)

I enjoyed the amount of humor in this chapter. Bella entering the room with her butt exposed and facing the ire of Esme was awesome. The argument was well laid out. I missed the warden fantasy joke the first time that I read because I was getting the punishment angle. After I read the next paragraph, I got it the sexual reference and roared with laughter. Everytime someone tried to rescue Edward and Bella from Esme, I lost it again.

I love the deadpan reaction that Edward and Bella gave to Esme after hearing about Jake's repeated calls and threats. It was cute that Carlisle and Esme group hugged them. As much as I would have loved for them to just call Jake, I agree that Bella does need to go explain in person. The cliffhanger(haha!) was a true shocker.

The writing in this chapter was very well done and consistent with your character development. Each paragraph flowed into the next and was well organized.

Author's Response:

I can see Esme being a fairly determined woman and not easily placated, as her children rapidly found out. I also kind of figure that it's impossible for a Cullen spat to be done without a lot off commentary from the peanut gallery and a heavy dose of snark. Besides, when people get really pissed off, it can get really funny.

For some reason I can't seem to stop myself from making Carlisle sex jokes. I'm a horrible person, I know. haha.

not getting married?! what kind of crazy cullen world are we living in?!

Author's Response:

don't panic yet. all has not been revealed.

Reviewer: Stellarrose (Signed) · Date: April 14, 2009 01:27 PM · On: Tethered

OK....I think you lost me here.  B&E have worked out their differences, they're going to go to La Push to tell Jacob once and for all that Bella chose Edward.  So why suddenly doesn't Edward want to marry her any more?  Does he still think there's something between her and Jacob?  ???????

Author's Response:

They have worked out their differences. But don't let that fool you into thinking they've talked thorugh EVERYTHING. And Edward never said he didn't *want* to marry her. That's a very fine distinction. Our little couple is getting a little cocky in their new communication skills and have neglected to realize they've still got some heavy issues left....

I promise more wil be revealed in the coming chapters. I wanted the readers to be as confused as Bella for a bit, since she is afterall our narrator.

First of all, Esme was never more awesome!  She (you) showed alot of personality and I have to agree with Bella, only she could make a family of vampires fear for their lives!  Second-very mature of Edward and Bella to deal with Jacob now, so as not to leave it hanging over their heads in the future!  And LAST- CLIFFHANGER!!!!  Bella realizes how much she wants to be Edward's wife and a member of the Cullen family and he now denies her!  Ugh, I have to hear THAT conversation!

Author's Response:

it'll be a doozey, i promise! and perhaps one they should have had before Edward dropped his little bomb, eh?

 Thanks for reviewing!

Not...getting...married...? I'm confused and slightly depressed please update soon so that I can stop freaking. LOve the story you do an awesome job!

Author's Response:

Thank you, but don't get depressed yet. Think of the end of Eclipse and things might make a bit more sense :)

Wonderful chapter...it brings a bit of illumination to my own troubles at this time.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much. I hope it helps things then!

PISSED OFF AT Edward again!

Author's Response:

no no no, don't be pissed off at edward. remember, he's going to change her. he's not rejecting her. i can't say much besides think of the end of eclipse and his statement might make a bit more sense. then remember that bella hasn't had her say in things yet, and she hasn't expressed herself on the issue at all.

if i made edward come off as the bad guy in this, i decidedly failed. so please don't hate on him!

Thanks for reading though!

Wait...What??!!  What a terrible cliff hanger you're leaving us - even though you are terribly brilliant in your whole analysis of their relationship.  You're still killing me....

I keep thinking about your story again and again.  Honestly, this is the BEST critique and resolution on Bella/Edward's relationship I have EVER read.  It's so pure and clear - nobody else has yet to recognize and write how Bella was just as much in fault as Edward was.  Your story ranks up there in the "best Twilight fiction ever" category :)  I'm just not worthy....

And while I'm bowing at your knees, can I just say - that while I respect any decisions on your part to keep to a PG-13 rating - dang!  I would love to see you write a follow up lemon on this.  Seriously - your make-out scenes are totally to die for - right up at the top.  You could rock if you went further.

Author's Response:

I've never done this cliff hanger thing. It's kind of awesome...haha, yes I am just cruel like that.

THANK YOU for your mind boggling compliment. I'm blown away.

I have never written a lemon before. Actually I'd never written anything before, nonetheless a make out scene. I have some vague plans in the future that might make me bump the rating to R though, I'll give you that much :)

Thanks for reading hon!

Hmmm...I'm a trifle confused...I thought they were going to handle Jake via telephone and now suddenly Bella's going to the res?  It was mentioned repeatedly they'd call Jake.  If Bella was going to the res, most likely as a way to stir up trouble plot-line wise, why all the mention of handling it via phone?  As for Edward's declaration at the end of the chapter, that's just odd.  I'll wait and see what reasoning you have, but again, I find it odd.  Otherwise I've loved this fic from the beginning, you write very well.

Author's Response:

Hey, I totally appreciate you calling it odd. They were absolutely going to handle it via the phone, then Edward gets up to his room and is making out with Bella and realizes it's just not going to suffice. They need closure, and that can only come through, as he said, him trusting her enough to go, and her meeting with him face to face. We deliberately did not see a lot of what Edward was thinking, and I promise it will be elaborated upon in the next chapter. I for one, do not believe, in having a character do something just to progress the plot. There is very much a character driven reason for this to occur, and it will be seen. I promise it is very much in keeping with Edward and his typical motives and really another loose thread Bella has neglected to tie up.

I think that is about as much as I can say without revealing too terribly much of the coming chapter, but just think of this...do you really think Jake would have rested on his laurels and accepted Bella calling him? As Sam mentioned to Edward, he wanted them to straighten out Jake's delusions, everyone needs closure.

Thanks for reviewing and pointing this out, if it remains confusing, I'll take another pass at it to make it better. That is afterall the glory of being able to edit :)

I seriously have no idea what just happened there in the end!!  I thought Esme's little fit was funny....they should put something like that in the movie!  I'd like to visually see Edward getting "in trouble" with his parents!!

Author's Response:

I promise there is a reason for the madness of Edward's last line. And it is very much in keeping with how we know Edward operates.

I always thought Esme would have a little something to say about Edward and Bella's martyring tendencies, hence we got this scene :)

i JUST REREAD THIS STORY AND FOUND IT TO BE EVEN BETTER THE 2ND TIME THROUGH!  YOU ARE AN EXCELLENT WRITER AND I'M REALLY ENJOYING YOUR STORYLINE!

Author's Response:

Wow you reread it? Thank you!!! A lot of times the second run through can ruin a story, so thank god that wasn't the case for you!

I loved the conversation between Bella and Rose...Genious..I love this angle you have taken...Love the story!!!

Author's Response:

Rose is strangely one of my favorite characters, I wanted to let her non-bitter side come out to play and kind of mentor Bella in the process.

  Thanks for reading!

I'm not usually an AU gal, mostly sticking to in canon pieces, but I LOVE your story.  It completely makes sense and is incredibly moving and romantic.  I love them having these completely open discussions and truly airing out all their problems.  I love how they discuss the Jake situation so frankly and that Edward point blank asks her to let Jake go (and for the first time is honest about why) and that she does let him go.

I thought the whole healing process was so touching as she cleaned his wounds and then washed him.  I loved that she was so frank with Charlie too, and seeing things clearly, he supported her and Edward.

Truly lovely and compelling story.  I can't wait to read more!

Author's Response:

Thanks for coming to play in AU. It's definitely not getting a lot of love these days, and it makes me sad :( .  It kind of amazes me, even as I write this, how much one little change in a character..her decision to be more honest and forthcoming, can change the entire story line and all the relationships. Perhaps all those shrinks advocating communication are right ;)

I'm glad you're enjoying this, because it's certainly been a joy to write. :)

Edward and Bella finally learn how to communicate!!! Yayyyy!! I'm eager to see how things move on from here, and I really like the liberated Edward ;o)

I hope you are able to update soon!

Bella is definitely getting stronger, I wish we had gotten to see this growth in her in the series; people who criticize her for being "weak" wouldn't have that argument anymore. It wasn't until BD that she gained some inner strength, so it's interesting watching her develop that here.

This is a great story and I always like seeing Bella interact with the rest of the Cullens!

Beautiful! Wonderful! Perfect! :o)

This was amazing, and your story is most definitely one of my new favorites!!!!!

Reviewer: twilover09 (Signed) · Date: April 09, 2009 08:36 PM · On: Touch

Edward begging Bella to stay with him made me cry, it was so heartbreaking and unusual to see Edward so vulnerable. This is a great story, and it's nice seeing Bella take care of Edward and to have their relationship grow based on true understandings of one another.

Author's Response:

Thank you, i always wanted a bit of a role reversal in which Bella saw to Edward's needs. He needed to be allowed to be vulnerable and hurt from time to time.

  Thanks for reading hon!

Another good chapter, I like where the story is headed now. Rosalie is always an interesting character, and I really like her here. Good job so far!

Reviewer: twilover09 (Signed) · Date: April 09, 2009 07:55 PM · On: Titan

This is really good so far! It's impossibly sad as well, so onto the next chapter to see what Bella does next!

Reviewer: kalika (Signed) · Date: April 08, 2009 10:18 PM · On: Trust

I am completely in love with this story! I think this is much more realistic in terms of how Edward would have been feeling after the events in Eclipse, as opposed to SM's version where he just takes it in stride. I love all the literary and mythological and musical references. I always catch them and then check the notes at the end to see if I'm right. :)

I also really like how you made Bella finally realize how much SHE was contributing to the vast inequalities of their relationship, and how very, very human Edward was in his vulnerabilities. Bella never seemed to quite grasp that this was Edward's first love too, that he was grappling with all the weight of that experience PLUS having to be the invincible knight in shining armor to her clumsy princess. You are exploring a depth to their relationship that should have been in the books, and I thank you for that.

Please update again soon! I was devastated when I got to the last chapter and there was nothing more to read. <3

Brilliant... I really don't know what to say other than that this is brilliant.
