i know bella's never been the most logical or rational of people...but i feel like her reasoning abilities are just out the window in this story. don't get me wrong, i really love this story and the idea of it. but doesn't bella realize that as soon as edward has acclimated to blood again, the scent of her blood is going to be ridiculously appealing to him? or is edward's aversion to blood going to be so deep-rooted psychologically that this isn't going to be an issue, and he'll always have to force himself to drink?
Author's Response: Whether or not he'll EVER be able to drink without forcing himself to i can't say at this point;
but, assuming Carlisle is right, it's this deep aversion that isn't going to heal just because he can eat again. It'll take some work, definitely. I think if carlisle thought there would be any chance of him eating her, they wouldn't have let her upstairs: the fear right now is more that he'll lose control and hurt her physically just because he's afraid or.. she startles him or something. The main concern right now is his growing strength.
But he's got a ways to go before he'll actually /want/ to drink. Now, that being said, that's just the mechanics of it. it's still ridiculous of Bella to be so careless around him, but she trusts him. He's never made a move to hurt her yet so she's feeling okay about him, like maybe he doesn't want to hurt her. And with Alice supporting her, Jasper coming around, and several other Cullens just sort of not being sure one way or another, it adds to her confidence.
I'm not even necessarily trying to defend her actions, because without a doubt, she's been careless... through the whole story really. And not just in going down to the basement and spending time with him; but ignoring her needs, ignoring her friends, ignoring her schoolwork, ignoring charlie. She's being irrational, it's absolutely true.
Hopefully my mini-rant sort explained something.. Thanks for reviewing either way! :D

oh I'm happy that basementward is more bedward now finally... looking forward to when he finally manages to speak... among other things ;)
Always end up feeling more sorry for Jasper out of the group, because of the gamut of emotions he keeps having to deal with from everyone.
Seriously, it's no wonder he's the guy who slips the most... I would want to kill more than a few people if I literally had to feel their daily emotions along with them :S

Aww, I'm glad Bedward is getting better. And still naked? Not that I'm complaining, but maybe he'd like some pants, lol?
If you have a chance, I'd LOVE to hear a little EPOV. Since we have no idea how he's interpreting what's going on, that would be really awesome. I loved Jasper's POV because it showed a little bit of the feelings that were coming from Edward...interesting, indeed that he would be so protective of Bella after so short of a time together.
Looking forward to the next chapter!

I squeal like a little kid when i see that you have updated. I love that this chapter is longer. I check the scroll bar compulsivly while I'm reading because I don't want it to end.
The only thing that I really didn't like was Rosalie being "motherly" towards Edward. It freaks me out. It seems to me that if Edward was going to like any of the Cullens it would be Alice. She is the smallest, and in the books she and Edward were really close.
Next step...get some clothes on poor Edward. At least some sweats or something.
I hope that Edward is already a vegetarian. It seems like it because he hasn't attacked Bella. I wonder if the chemicals that were put into his system will make it easier for him to be around Bella long term.
This is my favorite story by far and I read this one before all of the others on my fav's list.
Please, I am begging you...update again soon. I need more. Not want, NEED MORE!!! As always I loved it. I can't wait for the next update.
Author's Response: The vamp didn't necessarily actually allow himself to be comforted by Rose -- all that's said here is Rosalie is feeling the motherly instincts. But more will be said on that matter in the future;
Clothes are still problematic :) I have this long response to why he's naked saved on my computer -- I think I might throw it in the next A/N. But know that there are several reasons for him being naked now, it's not just because they're cruel :P
His eyes were red -- so they did feed him human blood... but I guess it's possible that he was a vegetarian? We'll find out eventually.

I just thrilled that basementward is getting healthy, so I'm not sad about him leaving - it had to be uncomfortable. I'm so glad he's doing better, and even though Bella's now got a curfew, I'm sure she'll realize it's worth it in the end. I do hope, though, that Edward won't hurt her (accidentally or otherwise) as he gets stronger. They're feeding him human blood, so I'm a little concerned about his ability to deny the animalistic part of himself, despite how much I think he'll want to. Great, great chapter! Can't wait for more!

I hope he doesn't hurt her, also.. I thikn we don't have to worry so much about him draining her, it's more like.. physically hurting her in response to being startled or lashing out that will be the problem.
The aversion to blood should work for bella in this case :)

Aww, as much as I will miss Basementward, I'm even happier that he is getting better! I'm mildly curious as to why no one has dressed Bedward yet. I guess he's not well enough for that, though.

This is coming along SO beautifully. I am so ecstatically happy that Edward is getting better - poor baby has suffered so much. I just wish Charlie would let up - I think Bella needed to be there for him on his first night 'above ground' and out of the basement. Oh well, maybe next time. Update soon sweetie!

I like the change of scenery. But then...I'm always big about ideas that involve Bella/Edward in a bed :) It was a relief to know the blood stayed down. Cant help wondering if something is eventually coming to get him and will Bella be in danger? And will he be strong enough to protect her??
