I'm glad to see he's improving. Looking forward to when he can not only handle being around the others, but can come out of the bedroom and go downstairs!

It always thrills me when you update. I am absolutely LOVING this story!! I like that he's healing but slowly - that it's not a snap-your-fingers-and-it's-fixed type story. Great character development and reveals in this chapter. Thank you so much for writing!! :)
Author's Response: Thanks for your review!
I'm glad you're not put off by the pace, it's a necessary slowness. Sigh.

I love this story. I have been reading since angstgoddess recommended it when you first started it. I am addicted and look forward to every new chapter. It is different from so many other stories out there. Thanks for writing!
Author's Response: Wow, thank you so much for reviewing!

Another great chapter! I love how he is talking more to Bella and actually called her name. :)
I'm sure this will be answered, but I want to know why he is afraid of the Cullens, if it's just because they are vampires or if there is something he hears in their thoughts. I *hope* that he will grow to love them as Bella has. I can't wait to read some of that at some point.
Thanks!
~Jenn
Author's Response: Yes! He said goodnight to her! (cue awwwwwwwwwwwwwww). Fuck, I loved that he said goodnight to her. Such progress (and learning.. guh,)
Thanks so much for reviewing bb!

This chapter had a lot of great moments. I never tire of Edward talking whether it is a simple "Goodnight, Bella" or my new favorite "Please don't hurt me." It was so sad watching him recoil from Bella after the kiss on his palm and then when she suddenly moved in his arms while waking. It obviously is going to take awhile for him to feel safe period. I was glad that Bella explained to Edward how she and the Cullens met. It explained their bond and gave Edward a foundation to trust them. Alice and Emmett then reinforced that trust by telling him what the family found out about him and what happened to his family.
We also finally saw that Alice's vision was Bella with red eyes and pale skin, but now have to find out who changes her and why. You are good with answering questions that lead to more questions. That is why I am so hooked on this story.
Author's Response: Yes, definitely deeper meaning there. Teaching him to trust the cullens by telling him why SHE trusts them, how they saved her with nothing forcing them to, etc. It's gotta help him some :)
Thanks so much for reviewing!

Aww..I love how Bella is so patient with him. You would think that since he can't read her mind he would be even more scared of her because he couldn't hear what she planned to do..but I wonder...when Edward first got to the Cullen's and he was so malnourished (is that what you would call if for vampires? haha)..was he really conscious? I don't mean like awake or not..but could he think clearly? Cause if he could, I would think he would be able to read the Cullen's minds and see that they are good vampires and wouldn't hurt him...but maybe he knows that people can lie with their thoughts...
If Edward has retained all of his vampire memories..he should have some info. about where he had been kept locked up, or by whom...maybe he will tell Bella..
Great chapter!
Author's Response: We'll get more into that for sure :) That's a great question, which has been asked a LOT (how coherent he was in those early days), and the why's behind his trust and stuff. It'll come, in time. Ahh.
Yes, he should have some info ;) Just a matter of putting it to use!
Thanks so much for the review!

Hehehe, I love your comments. Don't be amazed, you have agreat idea and you are presenting it in an amazing fashion. I love it! I couldn't see Edward going to school HOWEVER...I can forsee Bella kickcing some serious ass when she is changed and defending Edward (as a newborn) from those who imprisoned him... I am excited and await further chapters...more please! I wonder who will he let into his world besides Bella, which of the Cullens will be first? Alice, Carlisle or Emmet? Oh this is VERY exciting. can I pout like Alice to get it quicker?
Author's Response: Maybe he'll surprise us all and go for Esme -- who hasn't been up in his face yet! :P We'll find out :)
Thanks so much for reviewing!

Can I just say I ADORE their interaction together! They're just so sweet. The way Edward cuddles up to her in her sleep is one of my favorite parts. I love the small steps Edward is taking by his own free will. I was surprised that he changed into the new clothes Alice brought but that's a good sign right? You found a great way to introduce Debussy too. The whole scene with his reaction to the computer is a little sad but it's funny too. Even now I forget just how old he is so the idea of a computer must be beyond comprehension for the poor man. I'm reminded of my grandparents and their issues with technology.
Edward's interest with the outdoors really intrigues me.
And I LOVE the little emotion game between Jasper and Bella. Seriously, why didn't Steph think of that. It's perfect.
Thank you for the chapter!
~Folk
Author's Response: Hey hon! Hopefully you get this response, if not.. I'll link ya to it in the future, I'm sure ;)
I'm so glad you like their interactions (and don't think of it as a zoo, sheesh @ some reviewers :K)
It's a great sign that he put them on on his own volition -- shows that he's learning.. socially constructed things. Yeah.
Thanks so much for reviewing, as always! See you on the thread :)

Poor, poor vulnerabledward.. abusedward.. I wonder if he's scared of the laptop because he's never seen one or because the bad guys had them. Somehow I picture this lab or whatever as high tech. I can't wait to know what's next in store for our Edward. He has to come out of that room eventually, right? Maybe interact with the other, discover the piano, whatever.
Have I mentioned this is my very favorite fanfic of all time and each new chapter is Christmas to me.
Thank you for your story!
-L
Author's Response: Favorite of all time?! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
It's so nice to hear that you appreciate the work I'm putting into it! Reviews like this make me smile so hard despite my mood :P So thank you for the review!
He'll come out of that room eventually :) (soon, very soon:P)

Yeesh, poor Edward. Labward? :(
I literally make myself read your chapters slowly so they last longer....they're so good!

I think it's so cool Alice and everyone did a little (or a lot) of research to recover Edward's past. That was a pleasant, albeit, not a totally surprising, gesture (considering it's the Cullens and that's what they do...research). I love how the story is moving along, as I've said the last 13 chapters! Still loving it! :)
As for shirtless-ward, that's funny! Yeah, he's missed, I guess, but I'm sure he'll reappear in later chapters! :) I'm hoping...Ha!
Can't wait for the next chapter, as usual. Love ya and you're amazing writing!
-Rebecca :)
Author's Response: Yes, the cullens are always researching things! Glad they were able to turn something up (finally!)
Hehe, we can hope that he'll reappear! :P Thanks so much for reviewing!

Lovely as always, I like how you're not rushing through his recovery, it adds a touch a realism to your work. Delightful prose, grammar, and punctation. ;)

Love love it! It's neat to see a new perspective on their relationship, most stories they are in love and making out in two seconds, but this shows it building on something more than just a spark and a feeling.

I'm glad he has his own clothes, but minimal clothes is always nice- maybe it's time for another bath???????:)
Author's Response: Hehe, probably not quite :)

Fucking A, man. It never ceases to amaze me when this is updated! As small as it was, my favorite part was when she fell asleep and during the night she rolled away from him. I imagined Edward's face completely confused and scared, but when she woke up realizing she was in his arms again, I smirked. She scared the crap out of him! I knew waking up abruptly was a jolt, but poor Edward.
Gah, waiting is still a hassle for a human.
Author's Response: Yeah, the abrupt turn frightened him, but he overcame it alright. :) I'm glad you liked this one!
