I loved this chapter. Edward resting his head on her heart. Sigh. He's come so far.

And all the sparkling...I have a (ahem) soft spot for the sparkling.

 

Over and over he did this, relearning what the earth was like.

“They weren’t vampires,” he answered quickly, his eyebrows knitting together in uncertainty. He looked up from the water and directly to me, shaking his head in confusion before continuing. “Your -,” he started, but stopped short, swallowing hard. “– before last week, I’d never seen another vampire.”

--I love getting another clue to the puzzle. I love the mystery of it all. I have no idea what's going on. But, I love it, nonetheless. I've decided to just enjoy the ride and not bother trying to figure it out.

Okay, all the lovely thoughts I had in my brain slipped right out with the reveal that Edward had never met a vampire before.  Who/what had hold of him?  Werewolves?  You totally shocked me!!! (Yes, that was a triple !!! shock!!!)

I really should be in bed now, but I saw the update, and just couldn't go to sleep knowing it was there.  I had to read it.  I know I've been absent, but it's spring, and that means lots of work for me.  I promise to be back once everything is growing outside.

Speaking of outside, YEAH!  They went outside!  Edward had never seen himself sparkle!  That is so cool! He must have been completely freaking out the first moment he saw himself.  No wonder he escaped back to the shadows.  I loved the lines you incorporated from the book.  They fit perfectly. 

I'm glad you included Edward's interaction with Carlisle.  It's nice to see him start to trust someone other than Bella.  He needs to gain that.  Of course, having never met a vampire before, his reactions make a bunch more sense!

Now, I will finally go to bed, and dream of what on earth could have held Edward hostage for 90 years...

Haha, I figured I'd trip a few people up with that :) All will be revealed in time. Whether people hate me for it or love me for it, I can't say just yet, but I'm stickin to my guns on it... and we'll see how it goes :D

Of course I miss you, but I understand that RL calls.. I'm struggling to keep updates coming ONCE a week now, when I used to get them out twice a week! And I'm STILL falling behind on RL.. gah! I look forward to your homecoming, but obviously RL comes first :)

I'm glad you enjoyed the little homage to the original! It's one of those cliche's that everyone hates, but I tried to keep it pretty unique and it just.. fit.. with what I was trying to do! :) So glad that worked out.. :D

And CPOV! After all those people said they skipped over non exb time, everyone seems to be pleased with this chap's epic amount of CPOV, and that couldn't make me happier, because frankly, I'm really really interested in his budding relationships with family members, and I was always saddened that some people didn't care :) So I'm SO happy that you liked the CPOV!

Yes, I am surprised Edward had never seen a vamp before, like Bella I assumed that's who held him captive.  If not vamps then I wonder who... wolves? Hmmm...

I can't believe how stupid Bella acted, but it does make sense with the being drawn to him part. I can't help but wonder if her Blood is more of a pain to him then she knows?

Like everyone else I did not see that coming that Edward was captured by humans. Now I have a whole bunch of new questions. Like who changed him and how did they capture him considering newborns are so strong?

I can't wait to hear more about Edward's background and to see Edward and Bella's relationship develop more. I just love that he is so trusting of her and that when Carlisle was feeding him how thoughts of Bella calm him I couldn't help but smile.

Can't wait for more!
