Yours is the first story I've read on here and is is amazing! I love love love it! It's just so interesting to see Edward as the vulnerable character, and Bella having to be the strong one. Fantastic. Cannot wait to read more!

Oooo, interesting twist!  Perhaps a secret government lab?  Hmmm....

I would like to see more POV from the other family members, but I know it can be difficult to write if they won't let you into their head. :) 

Can't wait to see how everyone reacts to this bit of news, and how the birthday party goes.

The way I try to work which POV to go through is by.. using the POV that's most linked to the vamp at that moment.

Basically -- it's his story, but he isn't telling it for himself. so I pick the POV that can tell his story the best, or I try to. Sometimes, I fail. But there will be other POVs coming in as other family members begin interacting with him ;)

"They weren't vampires" : What a revelation!

Okay, I am going to guess that if it was not a vampire involved that maybe the werewolves were involved. It had to be someone that can rip his skin like that and would be able to keep him in fear. A mere human could do tests on him, but werewolves might want to know everything about their enemy. Shapeshifters like Jacob can use their human form to get him out the hospital and into a lab. It would also explain why Edward is constantly looking out that window and was afraid as Bella and him hit the forest area of the Cullen property. I keep coming back to the question: Who transformed him into a vampire? This is such an interesting tale.

I loved Carlisle's interaction with the vampire. It was really smart that Carlisle used his memories of Bella to reassure Edward when feeding him. I loved that he offered him a choice of how to feed and told him that he can freely move around the house alone. It was a very paternal side of Carlisle revealed in this chapter with Bella, Jasper and Edward. 

Bella really got him to push his boundaries in this chapter and express more through speech. It was very cute when Edward mentioned to Bella that she talks in her sleep and when he asked whether she would be back. Edward leaning on Bella listening to heartbeat and looking at skin in the sunlight by the river reminded me of the meadow scene in the book. Great chapter. Thanks for the update.

I get such a thrill whenever I see an update for this story.  It is great!  I'm so anxious to find out what happened to Edward...Love it!!

Wow. I was totally surprised it wasn't vamps that were holding him. Now, I'm kinda thinking/hoping it was werewolves. That would be all kinds of awesome.

I do have to wonder about Carlisle's methods. It made me laugh that he's so worried about Edward attacking Bella, yet he's conditioning Edward to think of Bella and relax while he's feeding. What the hell kind of classical conditioning is that?

Just wanted to add that the interaction between Edward and Bella outside with both of their "beautiful" comments was amazing. You have such a talented way of creating mood, and atmosphere and consequently emotions, with so few words. It's just fantastic and can't wait for more.

It's interesting that he's more comfortable around a human than the other vampires, since I assume he was going to tell her that her kind did this.
