I really liked the Alice/Edward interaction. Very sweet...I always pictured them as the closest of all the siblings. And part of me still wonders how Edward reacted (probably internally) to Alice's musings about Bella's feelings. Does he know how Bella feels? Great chapter.

Great chapter! It's kind of ridiculous how excited I got when he told her Happy Birthday. But the whole thing with him coming downstairs with Alice was such a big step for him. And it is adorable/wonderful that he did it so he could be at Bella' s b-day party.
I'm very curious to know what Edward is thinking about Bella and his feelings for her right now. I'd love to get in his head when he heard Alice think about Bella loving him. I don't think he'd realized that before.
Anyway, as always, thanks for the amazing chapter!

i think it would be awesome for emmett to somehow shine in this story - for his pure and simpleness to be the key to freeing edward somehow

Now I'm just really worried about the Volutri arriving even though you've assured me a couple of weeks in story-time. All I can think about is how traumatic it would be for Edward to have his memories read by Aro while he can read everything that he can't fully remember from Aro's mind... traumatic!
I'm glad Edward came downstairs for Bella's party, I'm doubly glad that she didn't cut her finger on the wrapping paper, and I love Alice and Emmett even more than usual. I just wish Alice did talk to Edward about internet shopping for a couple of hours :)

I am wondering how humans could change him??? There must have been a vampire working with them or they already had one captive and used venom from him to change Edward. Enjoyed it.

awesome chapter as always. Hope R/L is calming down for you and that you are feeling much better. Thank you for working on an update despite all of that. Wasn't overly surprised it was humans, but I wonder if there was someone else as well since Bella also thought about the fact that how humans were able to keep a vampire for such a long amount of time. I will love finding out more of course!

You are so very cryptic, and I have to say it is driving me insane!
BUT I am ecstatic that you updated and cannot wait until the Volturi arrives. I know that soinds a tad evil but when all Hell breaks loose I think it would be funny.
As for the whol Edward anxiety about being found, Oh my.
I feel SO sad that people did that to him.
PEOPLE. Not even vamps.
And If they were human can't the Cullens handle it?
We're weaklings.
Just a fact.
Edward can now handle it too because he's btter, but I think the fear will override that basic instinct.
Overall, FANTASTIC!

Couldn't stop reading long enough to write a review message before now. I do apologize but it is your fault for making this so good!
First of all, you capture Bella perfectly.. the original Bella, determined and selfless, her quiet powerful faith, her daring spirit.. and you are the first I have read here not to change her. Most fics I have read so far change Bella and leave Edward as he is.. you did the opposite, and it is refreshing.
Your plot had holes for me for the first few chapters. It just seemed too unlikely that Bella would just inexplicably go to the Cullen's basement for the first time without any of them home. It seemed equally unlikely that the Cullens would leave the house or that Emmett and Rosalie would not have heard Bella when she came in the house, regardless of their distractions.
But then the slow pace, the tedious detail and patience got to me. I was overwhlemed with pity for this broken and damaged Edward, a mixture of knowing what he will become and how far he would have to go to get there. I want so badly to read about him getting stronger and more confident.. trusting himself, accepting himself, and learning to trust the Cullens.
It's a lovely twist on our Twilight and I love it so far. Cannot wait for more chapters. Thankyou for writing!
