oh I was so excited that you finally updated, and what a wonderful chapter it was!!!  Keep em coming!

I just picked this up and it's fantastic! I'm so happy with this chapter, that it covered previous to Aro's visit, the visit, and a bit of the post visit. I can't even be angry over not knowing what happens when Bella runs to him until the next update. :)

OHMYGODHOWCOULDYOUENDITTHERE!? Seriously, we couldn't just get one more paragraph? Evil.....pure evil, lol. J/K. :D I know if you were evil that visit could have gone sooo much worse than it did.

I really felt bad for Bella, knowing she had to leave and knowing that any number of things could happen and that all the Cullens were nervous and that her vampire was scared. I kinda compared it to having a loved one in the hospital, you know that you can't do anything to help them (unless you're a doctor or something, I guess) but you still desperately want to be there with them. I loved that even though I'm sure that Edward would have wanted Bella there with him throughout the ordeal of the Volturi's visit, he told her that she had to go because it wasn't safe.

If I didn't love the Cullens before, I definitely would after this chapter. Fortunately I loved them and now I just adore them that much more. Their worry, their effort to keep Edward safe.....Esme throwing herself around Edward to comfort him the best she could and Carlisle taking the hit from Jane to get her to stop torturing Edward. He really has become part of their family now and that was so apparent during this. Also loved Alice showing Aro her vision of Bella, despite Jasper's protests at her stepping forward to share with Aro.

And if I love the Cullens more, I hate the Volturi more than ever, especially Jane. I know they're supposedly all on the same side but I would love for Rosalie to rip that bitch's head off. I choose Rosalie because I figure she would enjoying setting tiny pieces of Jane on fire as much as I would. And Aro...that compassionless, greedy bastard. But yet, things could have gone much worse than they did, so I can't complain too much and I do have to admit to snickering when Aro asked Alice if she had something to share with the class.

And in true VitB style, we get a lot more about Edward's back story and even more questions. :D But what we did find out is just horrible...poor Edward, it makes his progress that much more remarkable after discovering all this from Aro. It was quite remarkable how you managed to explain so much about his past and yet find a way to not explain everything and bring up the questions of how Edward escaped and who helped him escape. Not to mention the questions of just who these humans are, why they're doing what they are doing, if a vampire is helping them, and how many other vamps they have held captive.

And then that ending....grrr, that ending. :P  I do love that Edward is standing outside waiting on her though. I think that right there speaks volumes since the rest of them have been giving him space and quite frankly I wouldn't have been too surprised if he had been curled up in a ball ever since the Volturi visit. And instead he's outside waiting for her....oh I can't wait to see what happens. But I'm also kinda scared too see since I know how you love to give us the unexpected and we're expecting/hoping for a loving reunion between the two of them, so I really hope we don't get the opposite of that! :D

I did not have access to this website for some reason & when I got the email that this chapter was up & I couldn't read it I almost died!!! This was a really good chapter-I wish it was a bit longer with details regarding E's captivity but I am hoping that that will be included in future chapters.

I am constantly amazed with your story, Michelle. It never disappoints. You weave in canon characters and personalities, and it still stays totally unique and fresh.

Human captors. More vampires? Fasicinating. We knew he was tortured. Based on Aro's reaction, it was ever worse than we imagined.

It'c confirmed. Bella's fate appears inevitable. They may not be ready to share this with Bella, but I have wondered for some time now if she has not already come to this conclusion herself.

The pressure is on. You have just set the stage for what could be one of the most romantic moments in the history of Twi fic. Edward made it to the porch in anticipation of Bella's arrival. Pouring rain. Bella running towards him. And thinking about pushing limits.

I really really really hope this next chapter contains a kiss. Or maybe a couple? Seize the moment.
