I'm so glad Bella held herself back.....it was perfect that Edward initiated the kiss. Again with the brilliant pacing, btw. It would have made no sense to me for Edward to decare his undying love in this chapter. He's just too broken at this point. On the other hand, he's still clearly progressing, which makes me do a dance.
Jeez the aftermath of Bella confessing her love was brutal. I really sympathize with her sudden fear that she'd only imagined that he welcomed her affection and that she was really just taking advantage of him. My brain tends to move along those lines.
Anyhow, fantastic chapter. Thanks so much for this story!

So I'm not a giddy squeel kind of woman, but wow - that was definitely amazing, lovely, stupendous, wondeful. I love that he was brave enough to wait for her outside. I love that he opened up to her (I'm hoping she can tell the Cullens that Aro's thoughts match his words without betraying Edward). And I love the kiss. Of course I love the kiss. But most of all I think I love his smile at the end and admitting he needs her too.

AH! I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU I LOVE YOU! I think this is the fastest I have ever read a chapter of your story! HOLY CANOLI! A-ma-zing!
THEY KISSED! I was not expecting it but they did! And just AWW! Its so dark and tragic but so, aww at the same time! I love all the conflicting emotions and how I go from almost crying, to smiling like a maniac! So nice.
The way you write your characters are so nice. I love Bella and how conflicted but loving and caring she is! I love Edward and how dark and mysterious... but he still finds a way to love Bella and control himself for her..
I notice that subtle sniffing all the time.. is there a little bit of that "personal brand of heroin" in this story? EEEH! I want another chapter! So impatient!

Loved It!!! I had to use great restraint not to sneak a peak ahead to see if Bella got her kiss but I managed not to. I was on the edge of my chair.
You definately have Edward in character. The self-loathing and thoughts that he isn't worth the trouble totally fit with his character. I just hope that he continues to open up to her and get better. Bella definately has her hands full with him. Maybe she should start introducing Edward to more electronic devices like TV, radio's, kitchen appliances, etc.. because I think that Edwards reactions to them would be interesting.
