I have to admit I cried a little. It was sad when Edward was ashamed and thought he was ugly. But, of course, Bella's words were sooo beautiful. She really is good for him. And I'm so excited to see what is going to happen next. This is such a great story.

I had been wondering when Bella was going to see the scars left by Edward's past. She is so wonderful and patient and kind and well, loving towards him. She is exactly what he needs. Hmmm...I never thought that Mike could be the person behind the stares, etc. I still don't fully believe that it's him and him alone. Maybe Mike is the person with the note at school but I have a feeling he's not the person from that morning. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

Oh my poor boy. Is there no end to his pain? I love that he found the acceptance from Bella that he has denied himself and I love that she is trying to show him how to start living his life for himself. Can't wait for the next chapter. By the way, there has been no mention of a trial or jail or any other type of punishment for Phil. Are we going to get that story soon?

I'm very nervous about this person who's watching Edward. My gut is saying stepfather, but wouldn't he be in jail for killing Edward's mom? I don't know, but I hope I find out soon!

I always wondered if he had scars. From the descriptions of the beatings, I would assume that he would have scars, but they were never mentioned before. Wouldn't Carlisle have seen them the first time when he was hospitalized? I would think Carlisle would have at least suspected of a long history of abuse from seeing that. And what about in gym? He has to change, so other kids in the locker room would see him, no?
Author's Response: Hey, thank you for the review.
So this is how I see his scars. I see Edward being very conscious of them in PE and doing his best to keep chest/back covered while changing. He might even go to the bathroom to change shirts. As for Carlisle, he did know (I am actually working on some different POVs and such, which will be posted later if people want). But he wanted Edward to trust him and Esme enough to tell them about it. I hope that makes sense and helps with the continuity of the story.

Oh, I can't wait for the next chapter! You've done a brillant job with this story, weaving the actual book plot into the lives of your human characters. I have a feeling that Edward wasn't just imagining someone staring at him while at the Festival. I'm sure we shall learn more very soon. Perhaps it is his stepfather? We never did learn exactly what happened after Edward blacked out the night his mother was killed. Perhaps his stepfather managed to escape? Hmmm...lots to think on.
I am enjoying the interaction between Edward and Carlisle and Esme. I also like that you dont' seem to be rushing Edward through his "recovery", it's actually quite believeable (in my opinion).
Thank you very much for sharing this story with us and I look forward to your next update!!!!!
BTW...this story got me through a grueling hour and a half workout on the bike this evening...I never would have made it without your story to entertain me and keep my mind away from the pain and torture. hehe

Best chapter EVER. I just loved it. I loved Edward/Bella dressed as vampire, and 'his snack'. Very simple but brilliant. I hope Edward's step-father isn't coming back for him. I just got an odd feeling he was when Edward kept looking over his shoulder. Or maybe it was someone who likes Bella, either way just as scary. Totally made my day with this chapter.

The elbow hitting the honk is a nice one. Quite funny and very realistic. I like how you have had their physical relationship go slowly. Too many stories jump right into it, and I think it's much more realistic that a traumatized teenager would need to progress emotionally first.

Loved this chapter.Good that they had some fun time together for a chance.
Haunted house was so fun to read, I have same kind of experience and it was SO scary.
I actually wait some angst coming back to the story, all cannot be too good all the time ;)
