Ok I finally made it through the whole thing. I admit I was basically rationing the last few chapters to get through the work week :)This is SUCH a good fanfic and it is one of my top favorites. I can't wait for you to update and I'm excited that I finally get to go read reviews (now that I won't inadvertently come across any spoilers).I loved Bella’s realization in this chapter and I like that she’s starting to see some of Edward’s feelings or interest (although, typical Bella, she’ll refuse to allow herself to consider that it might be her that he longs for). I hope Edward drops the good-guy thing and tells her how he feels eventually. Also – part of me kept hoping for Jacob to see them together and just flip out.Another wonderful chapter, can’t wait to read more.

I love the long chapters! I'm already sad that I only have a couple left. This was a great chapter and I'm definitely starting to see a little flirtation developed. Hopefully Jacob flips out next chpater :)

Noo! I like happy Bella! Teasing of course, moving on to the next chapter now. The lunchroom conversation between E and B was fantastic.

Love this chapter. I'd hate to be on Edward's side of his brothers' teasing. Only 4 chpaters left for me to read, how sad!
Author's Response: Oh, don't worry, there are plenty of chapters still to come. I originally intended this thing to end in 25, but there's no way that's going to happen. I've had all the major plot points outlined since before I started writing, but I've added quite a bit of character development along the way that's fattened up the word count on this sucker. So there's a lot still ahead, but I will do my best not to make this the NEverending Story. I have an endgame planned, it's just taking longer than expected to get there.

Loved the way you write Alice.. I agree she is annoying in a lot of stories. I loved this chapter.. can't see more bella/edward time!

I read this story after a rec on lion_lamb, and it's a new favorite. I look forward to reading the upcoming chapters!

Ugh I have to leave my office and I'm going to miss the rest of the story until tomorrow afternoon! This was a really good chapter, I'm so happy that Bella was annoyed at Jake and I hope Edward decides to fight for her soon. I hope your vacation and the bar went well. See you tomorrow, I guess!

Great chapter!!

I LOVE the long chapters. And I don't think it's a cliche to write about kids drinking - it's reality and it adds to the integrity of the story. It's much more realistic than pretending that kids don't have the temptations, and the opportunities, to mess around. I hope Bella stays angry at Jacob for a while, but that's just because I'm selfish.

Ohh, good, a reason to dislike Jacob :) And, sorry to be a broken record, but thank you again for writing a Bella with a backbone and a little defiance.

Re: Your chapter end notes about Edward and Bella chatting. I actually like this slower, less intense way of them getting to know each other.

This. Was. Awesome.

Ha! Your note at the end is great. It is fluffy but it started out with the argument, which was good. again, it's fun to read Bella with an actual personality.

This was a great chapter. I can't wait for the gossip to start flying about Bella and the new kid. Also, this is lame, but I'm kind of looking forward to Bella's guilt over Jacob. Just because I don't like Jacob, I suppose. I hope you respond to reviews - I've been afraid to look, in case there were spoilers in other people's comments. But I'm interested in your reactions as readers progress through the story and comment.
Author's Response: Glad you're anticipating Bella's guilt because there is a TON of it coming up, even in the stuff I have yet to write. And as to my responding to reviews, I have been not so dilligent about that in the past, but I'm working on it!

I'm already sad for Leah when she loses Sam...

I think it's fine that you're taking your time! I really like that Bella, while acknowledging how perfect-looking Edward is, didn't immediately lust after him. She is supposed to be in love with Jacob, after all. (As uncomfortable as that whole thing makes me.) The bonfire should be interesting...

I like the lunch room scene, I'm glad you left it in. It does make sense and it's the right time for Edward to find out immediately that he can't hear Bella. This Bella actually has a personailty, which is awesome. I can tell I won't be getting much more work done today...

First off, this is fantastic writing. A lot of the stories you see have fun or interesting plots but the writing isn't very smooth. Your style and cadence are great and you must put time into proofing. So thank you and well done! Secondly, the timing of this story starting is great, in my opinion, and I agree with you about Jacob in _Eclipse_ and you'll be happy to know that it wasn't obvious at all. I'm reading the 2nd chapter right now!

*sigh* I wish I had words to tell you how much I love this story, but they won't come to me. The farther we get into this story, the more I can feel Bella's emotions. My heart is completely broken for them. You are making me fall in love with Edward and Bella again. I lost them somewhere along the way, you've helped me find them. Thank you. On a side note- I did the IVO dance, but this update was so beautiful I had to stop.
Author's Response: You always make me blush, Debussy.

"Sometimes I thought he might be lonely, what with his being intimidating intelligence and beauty, both inside and out, so perhaps he needed me, too ... Plus, I didn’t pursue him like all the other girls wanted to." I've often thought that might indeed be a little of Bella's attraction for Edward, in addition to the fact he can't read her mind, and it all makes her a mystery to him. :-) This was an interesting insight into Bella, both the good and bad. And I did like what you did with Alice. I get really tired of "shopaholic Alice" in stories, as if that's her only talent (besides seeing the future).

This story is so lovely, heartwrenching, and detailed. I really love the attention you pay to the details in Bella's psyche. And Alice as Bella's comforter: Gold

i loved the alice scene in the bathroom. (caffineated version of edward, papertowel cussion, asking more questions just after she started to answer. ) it's sooo in character. Edward too. wonder what carlisele thinks of her? bella just needs to dump jake already, but i think him turning into a werewolf and then not being able to see her would be a perfect catalyst that could end with a cool confrontation, just food for thought, Keep it up. Great work.

Every chapter is more anguishing than the last, and I truly think you outdid yourself here. This was, without doubt, one of your finest chapters.
