Okay. It probably been said so many times but WOW!!!
In so many ways your story is better than the original Twilight. In your story, Bella has to give so much up for Edward, her life with Jacob and the gang down at La Push ect. which makes it seem more real than the original Twilight.
I love Edward's assult on Jacob! It was great and Jakey-boy deserved it. although I would have loved it if Alice went for Sam. He deserves some pain too, for trying to keep Bella there when she was obviously seriously hurt.
Are you going to bring in any of the "older" Cullen siblings? I'd love to see what they think about everything that's happened.
update quickly PLEASE!

Yes Oxy, we know that you love us! You've given us this lovely chapter and we won't ever doubt your love for us!
*squee*
Wow, where to start? I was a little freaked out to realize that yes, in fact, the Quiluetes were holding her hostage. If I wasn't so sure of where this story was going (or, at least, this chapter), I would have been worried about them seriously considering just eliminating her as a problem. Creepy stuff!
Thankfully you had help arrive in the form of Leah and Em, and really, I think Em was probably the only one that could talk any sense into them, because of what had happened to her.
Bear attack... geez! And knowing what a fantastically miserable liar Bella is, I'm surprised that anyone believed that story. It would be fascinating to see this chapter from Edward's perspective - to find out if Alice had seen Bella's 'disappearance' during the attack, to see what she'd gone through when Bella reappeared, to see how she would have tried to comfort and reassure Edward that Bella had returned, but all the while having that smugness that comes with having him realize that he can't really stay out of her life.
But mostly, I'd love to know what was finally clicking in his mind when he saw her. When he couldn't tear his gaze away from her in the lunchroom, and when he spent the whole English class fixated on her every movement. And I wonder what Alice would have told him about the confrontation in the parking lot - I imagine after the 'incident', Alice would feel compelled to 'watch' Bella more closely. How she must have freaked when she saw Bella disappear after school. And how much of the conversation did Edward witness before he couldn't stand it anymore?
I was actually worried for just a second that the Quiluetes had come back to do something to Bella... you can tell I'm really not a fan, huh?
And yes, Edward's sudden appearance... I had to read that whole passage twice! It was just that good.
I'm glad that Bella finally got to hear his twisted reasoning for leaving her, tho' she hasn't had time to process it yet. I'm sure it's going to lead to an incredible amount of angst and drama when Edward realizes that he was just a little too good at cultivating this disdain and hatred that Bella now feels towards him. I always felt that was a such a missed opportunity in New Moon - making Edward actually have to work for forgiveness. Is it wrong that I'm truly looking forward to that? I want him to grovel, and I want him to suffer, because he put her through hell for essentially no reason at all, other than his ridiculous, idiotic sense of sacrifice.
I'm just sorry Alice is caught in the middle. It hurts to see her want to comfort Bella but really being unable to do anything.
Oh well, another riveting chapter! Thank you so much for this gift. As always, I look forward to the next one. If Edward losing his shit was this much fun, Edward having to suck it up is going to be even more squee-worthy!
Merry Christmas!

Wow, is it too early to ask for the next chapter? ;) That last scene was intense. I love that Edward went nuts and would have been totally cool with him going even MORE nuts. I loved his admission that he did what he did to make Bella safe.
*swoon*
As for your promise of lots of overly angsty time? BRING IT ON BABE, I SERIOUSLY CANNOT WAIT. No one can write angst the way you can =)
One thing I was wondering when Bella returned to school... was the blood from the gauze seeping through her clothes and actually visible to the school???

That was sooo good. Best part, hands down, "I gave up everything. Because you were supposed to be the safe choice." Man! I smiled and had the chills at the same time. Thanks for the awesome story :)

Beautiful. Gorgeous. Extraordinary. Truth be told, I get out rarely to escape being a mommy of two little girls, and I was out at a club dancing. I noticed that I got a message from my e-mail. Thinking it was my husband about my kids or something, I checked my e-mail. It was an alert that you updated. I escape rarely, and yet that alert made me want to rush home, even if I don't get out often. I'm so glad I did leave to catch up here. Yes, you are THAT good. SO glad to see you update. More, and soon!

I probably sound like a broken record, but WOW! That seems to always be my reaction to every new chapter. This one was excellent!
I can't believe they didn't take her to the hospital immediately! Here she is torn up and bleeding and they worry about themselves. I was proud of Bella for sticking up for herself and demanding to be taken the the hospital. I was also proud of her for realizing that Jake had no right to come near her when he knew he was dangerous. Having Jake and the other wolves show up at school was brilliant. I never imagined Edward finding out that way. I definitely screamed/squeed at my computer when he broke the glass doors and brought some anger down on Jake.
I can't wait for the next chapter! Edward is going to try to get Bella back probably and it will be amazing. As usual Oxy you are light-years ahead of my greatest expectations!

This chapter...Bella...I'm speechless. I've been sitting here trying to compose an eloquent review, but "wow" seems very appropriate.
I'm so glad that Bella is self-aware enough to recognize that while there may be parallels between her own decisions and Jake's, the two situations are not identical, and his decisions were perhaps not motivated by doing the right thing as hers were.
And....whoooooo Edward found out what happened to Bella, and man, that scene in the parking lot. I was so tense reading that. Damn, Oxy.
"He was just as bad as Jake. Neither had scarred me intentionally, but in their own self-righteous blindness, each of them had disfigured me, permanently, recklessly. Jake wanted me too much, so he’d lost his temper and physically torn me to literal shreds; Edward didn’t want me enough—at all—and mutilated the optimism from my already cynical heart."
Though there was never this level of physical altercation in the books, I wish Book Bella would've recognized Edward's flaws as your Bella does. This observation of hers is so spot-on, so aware...I have a hard time remembering that she's a teenager. She's wicked mature, and I love you for writing her this way.

I am madly in love with this story. Just so you know. This has to be one of my favorite chapters of fanfiction, ever. I loved, loved, *loved* Edward's confrontation with Jacob. "Touch her again and I will end you"? Amazing. This is the part that made me comment, though:
His eyes were bloodshot, and his hands trembled when he thought I wasn’t looking. "We’ll get you plastic surgery, kid. Like this never happened. You’ll be as good as new."
I seriously ached when I read that. After Edward and Bella, Charlie is my favorite character. The way you captured his love for his daughter moved me more than I can say. Incredible job.

Okay, seriously, I liked this chapter/story so much, I ended up registering on the site just so I could review and tell you how much I loved it. And the whole part where they weren't going to take Bella to the hospital.... WTF were they thinking?! I just hurt for Bella at that point where she was so scared, and confused and in pain, but it was kinda like no one was on her side. And how she feels she deserves to be mauled..... oh poor Bella. So as you can tell I love this story and this chapter rocked! Can't wait for whats to come!

Ohhh, this is SO good!!!! I'm finally catching up, and this is an AWESOME story. So much that, it is currently nealry 1am, I am leaving for the holidays tomorrow at 8 am, and I haven't started packing or anything yet. I've been too busy reading!
I love your writing - you are really consistent with your characters, and your pacing is great. This is so different from the original, but feels just right. I can't wait for more!

i have no idea what to say - this is brilliant and i can't get enough. you are an amazing writer. i know others have said it, and i will to - i think this is soo much better than the original (and i say that will all due respect to SM of course for bringing us these characters to begin with). But you breathe more depth, emotion and life into them. and i thank you for that.

Wow. Just wow. I was soo looking forward to Edward's reaction in this chapter, and you definitely did *NOT* dissapoint. I love Bella's rection as well, realizing that they are both being fools. Well, except for her blantant blindness to Edward's feelings - hello? He just said he "gave up everything" so she could be safe. Doesn't that mean anything to her!?!
So very well written, I think I love this story more than the original.

Oxy, another fab chapter. I just reviewed over on ff but I had to come over here, too.
I mentioned how realistically you described Bella's injuries, and that nauseating feeling one gets whenever they move (or not).
"I gave up everything. Because you were supposed to be the safe choice." I couldn't identify with his words or the anguish behind them.
This nearly made me cry. I don't know how I'm not; maybe I'm a vampire and I didn't know it? Nahh. Btw, I love your Alice. She's not meddling where she doesn't belong or intruding on Bella's life. She's just genuinely concerned for her. Well, anyway, I just loved that... how she was waiting in the hall. You make it clear she cares for her almost as much as Edward does.
I told you on ff and I'm telling you here: your Bella is so much COOLER than SM's (sorry Stephenie!). But seriously, it's true.
I'm still feeling super greedy, dear, but also super grateful. Thanks for the lengthy update. I think you said that there should be at least one more update before Christmas but I might've been mistaken. I hope that's the case, but if not I'll (try) to contain myself. Happy Holidays!
Author's Response: I'm trying hard for the Christmas update, but I am vacationing next week in Florida and hope I'll have time to get it out there. If not, I will make it a New Years' thing instead. Thanks for reviewing, and happy holidays right back at you!

holy freaking lord EDWARD!!! This chapter was great. im getting frustrated with Bella a bit but i completely understand the whole not feeling adequate and not getting why someone would love you thing. I'm super excited for the next chapter. keep up the good work!
Author's Response: It's not so much that Bella feels inadequate at this point (though she has "I'm not pretty issues" from her new wounds); it's more that she doesn't trust Edward. Even if he were to tell her that he loves her, given his behavior in the forest and then the following three months of completely ignoring her, she wouldn't believe him. He lied to her outright and she believed him. That takes some time to undo.
Anyway, glad you liked the chapter. I'm so shocked the angst-factor hasn't driven people away yet... Thanks SO much for reviewing! As I've said before, these reviews make my boring day so much better.

holy shit! omfg! dirty bleeding ass! swearing is the only release plausible to sum up my exuberance after this chapter! the edward reaction was quasi-poetic with the shattering of the door and falling glass fragments...i especially loved bellas reaction. it's why i read this story, you elevate her character, allowing her to grow has produced a woman who is capable of seeing flaw, and distances herself from naivity. her final words to edward have captivated me, she loves him but that doesn't mean she wants him, its conflicting and complicated and so relatable to human emotion. I applaude you, thank you for your inspriation and i can hardly wait for the next chapter.

Amaaaaazing! Seriously, when you update it's the highlight of my day. Very, very few fanfics out there can even compare to this one!
Although I'm sad there weren't more answers I'm more excited because it means there will be more story! Thanks for updating. I can't wait for more!!

That was freaking awesome. Seriously awesome. Of all the stories I have read, and that is a lot, this one is the one I can most envision as being a real twilight book. Like this could have been the way it was written just as easily as the real book. I can envision this stuff in my head without you even describing every little detail of Bellas clothing like some do. I had the best mental picture of Edward and Bella in the woods in that other chap. And the best visual of this fight happening. I love this story and cannot wait for the next chapter. This is seriously my absolute favorite AU I have ever read.
