Oh my gosh, this chapter was fantastic! Totally worth the wait! I loved the Bella and Alice interaction; It was funny and sweet. I can't wait to see the WTF moment in the next chapter. Update again when you can. :)

Welcome back! I LOVED IT. Although many may think it creepy that Edward watches her even though she doesn't see him, I can't help but find it romantic. He is so kind to give her space. I'm glad Bella is slowly realizing that she can't fight her feelings for Edward much longer. I'm so glad this story is back :)
Author's Response: Thanks; I feel great having finally posted again. The Edward watching Bella thing is tricky: he needs to give her space but a part of me is kind of like "aw, but he does care!" So, yeah, I'm kind of with you on that. ;)

Brilliant. I'm glad you addressed all of Bella's relationships in this chapter, I think it did a lot knowing where she stands with the people at school, Alice, Jake, and Edward. I was kind of excited that you threw a little bit of Jake back into the story--hopefully you'll play it up a little more. And don't be sorry that you worte subtle chapter because it was needed and it cleared up a lot of little things that I was wondering about. High five for you!
This was well worth the wait. As usual I'm excited for the next update.

I can't even begin to explain how happy I am that I opened up the site today to find an update on this story! I have loved this story since I began reading it many months ago. I am so glad that Renee told Bella like it is. "Maybe he was just scared." That's so true! Even though Edward is over 100 years old, he's still a teenager as well. His years of wisdom fall short of his hormones and feelings. I'm happy with the ending of the chapter where Bella realizes she really is a hypocrite. It makes perfect sense. Though I always want super-long updates that happen weekly, I've NEVER been disappointed with a chapter from you. It makes it worth the wait. Thank you for your continued committment to this story. I can't wait to see where you take it.
Author's Response: Edward IS scared. I love that you caught that! He has no experience at all with romantic love, and we all know how he likes to get down on himself. He's kind of a mess and falls under that old saying "you can't love anyone until you love yourself." Anyway, it makes me smile that you've never been disappointed with this story. It gets tough to write at times, but I'm sticking with it and it's nice to hear that so far, you're still willing to come along for the ride. Thanks.

I squealed with so much delight when I saw this update in my inbox that I scared people in my office! When I finished hyperventillating from the joy, I read and read and Oxy, you are so amazing. You never disappoint! This is so brilliant and I cannot wait for more. The way you have taken Bella and made her stronger than she knows she is and the way that she has stood up for herself and not allowed anyone to dictate what to bellieve is so refreshing and true to her real character.

I opened my e-mail and my heart skipped a beat. I had to re-read the title of your story three times to believe it was there...I was so excited. I didn't read it right away. I wanted to savor it so I went back to Edward and Bella in the forest and read from there. This chapter was amazing and everything that I could have hoped for. The wait was completely worth it, as you remained true to your characters. This chapter was so perfect. I am one of those angst fans and this had everything that I needed to content my soul.
But I have to say...I wish you had not mentioned the WTF moment because now I cannot wait! Ha ha, just kidding. I like a little tease every now and then. I will wait patiently. Thank you!

I've been reading this steadily since I discovered it last night. After all the fanfics I have gulped down in this and other fandoms, and the resultant immunity to facile story telling, with this chapter I truly felt my heart beating faster, faster as Bella and Edward moved toward each other in the hall that morning. Brilliant!
Very worth the wait. So many moments I loved in this chapter. I loved that Bella - even in her fragile state after the park - won't let Edward take the blame in the Principal's office. Even if it is somewhat unconsciously done and she doesn't understand why - she is not going to be the damsel in distress for him to save. I think by doing so she begins to put herself on the same level with Edward where they may begin to build something. And again, when she realizes that she also was lying and hurting him - it puts them on the same level. There is not Edward the god on a pedestal and lowly Bella - it is now just Edward and Bella - both flawed yet perfect for each other.
Loved the chapter.
Author's Response: You hit the nail on the head: Edward and Bella need to be on the same level in order to ever build a real, solid relationship. That chapter was incredibly well written! And persoanlly, I don't think you should ever feel bad about how long it may take to get a chapter right. It's your story, you have to stay true to it. I LOVED that Bella is still upset and confused and bitter. It's so real. If her reaction to Edward would have been "Wheeeee! He loves me!" that would have rang false. One of the things that I love about this story is that you let the characters feel and experience emotions, you don't rush them from one thing to the next.
One detail that I adored was Bella kicking the garbage can, and then stopping to clean up the mess. And I loved the line "Because bitterness was easy and forgiveness was rocket science..."
This chapter was definitely worth the wait, and I'm looking forward to the next one. :)
Author's Response: "Wheeee! He loves me!" should be a chapter title down the road for IVO. It's funny you picked out the "rocket science" line b/c "Rocket Science" was one of three working titles for this chapter. (The other two were "Understanding," which I found too boring, and "I Want to Punch IVO in the Face," but that was mostly during the bouts of writer's block). Anyway, I'm glad you weren't disappointed after the wait. I always love reading your reviews, chloe!

Back when I was active in the HP fandom there were certain really, really good stories that I would wait over 6 months for chapter updates. Your story is good, like stupid good and totally worth waiting for. Don't worry about the time, it's always worth it.

It's chapters like this one that makes the "chapter by chapter" posting of fanfic so trying; if it were a novel, you could just breeze past it, but now you have to wait with the angst fresh in your memory until I can do something to cheer you up.
