In fact, that dream was the thing that broke me out of my writer's block and helped me finish that chapter. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm already working on the next chapter. Congratulations on all your awards, you deserve them! You can definitely make at least this reader invest in the characters and story ...and forget that it's a fan fic. Looking forward to Chapter 40. I have to say that the bad part about a fan fic is that I have to wait for the next installment but simultaneously the good part is that I still have something to look forward to because I'd definitely have read it all by now otherwise!

Oh, this chapter was so worth waiting for! So many things happened ...
(I'm re-reading the chap and writing the review along, cos the first time I read it my pc went crazy on me and didn't submit the my reply ... grr)
Ha! Bella as the female ‘Hitch' -with those two nothing can go wrong. Both Embry and Liz seem to be as free spirits and out-going and ‘compatible' as it gets.
Leah's situation turned out to be a little like Bella's and I was ever so happy with her intervention. How B made L see things from a different POV ... and this different POV being the right one made ‘your' Bella even more appealing in my eyes! It is so freakin' important to understand that the girl shouldn't choose between two guys but between two possible futures! (-where were you when I needed you ???) !
I really don't appreciate Sam and Emily's nosy interference ... just so ‘lessening' of them to enforce Patrick's presence on Leah ... supposedly to help.
The Council's meeting was ... wow, it was time for Jacob to take his rightful place with this grandiose occurrence and set matters straight between the Pack and the Council. YAY! (Bella couldn't out-grow entirely her self-doubting self, but Jake was there to ... well, persuade her with whatever means necessary. loll And by the way that was a brilliant method to bring a quick citrus-feeling into the chap and funny, too !!!
The dinner at Sue's with Charlie and the others was just hilarious !!!!!!!!! And telling Charlie about the wolfs is my favorite thing in the world. It was the best way for me to end this monster of a chapter!
A million congrats for winning those awards, you really deserved them.
I'm already ‘sitting on smoldering coal' for the next chap. (sorry, Hungarian expression, I hope you know what I mean!)

I loved this "filler" chapter. I loved the council meeting, I loved Charlie and Sue's "announcement", I LOVED it all! I too, feel a whirlwind of action coming on, now that loose ends were beautifully tied.

*hears angels singing* I LOVED what Bella had to say to Leah - not only does she "get it" about her younger self, she has the courage to be open about it with her troubled friend. An extra nice scene!

Erin, Welcome Back, I've missed this story!!
Wow what a chapter! I got goose bumps when Jake's Alpha power came on full force and put the counsil in it's place. ILMAO when Billie slaped Old Quil on the sholder and said “I told you he had it in him you Old Bastard!” and then Bella not knowing she was oogling a naked Embry!! Sue's was the best! I'm happy for Charlie, he deservse to be happy. Plus he will be in the know of things.
Now about Leah, I just want her to be happy. She soooo deserves to be. I thought Bella's advice was spot on, I could see stubborn Leah refusing Patrick just to show everyone that she was stronge enough to deny the imprint. To shove that in Sam's face. I'm happy for her and Jack but I wouldn't put it past you to have Leah end up with Patrick so we will see!
Like I said, Wow, what a chapter! I can't wait for more!!!

Thanks for the review and for the warm welcome back. :) Yeah, Jacob claiming his full Alpha status was a long time coming. I'm glad to finally get the Pack together myself. And, it never made sense to me in the book that Charlie wouldn't find out about the wolves/vampires etc. Stephenie Meyer's way of dealing with it in BD was improbable as well as unbelievable...so I figured I'd have to change that in my story. The next chapter is already outlined...and I'm hoping to actually start writing it this week. HOpefully you won't be waiting 4 months like you did this time! Sorry about that.

Personally, it would have been great if they had been expecting a baby. That would have been hilarious considering the "protection" and "acting like an adult" talk they had a few chapters ago.

I'm late to reading this since you've written but I have to tell you that I LOVE your story. Always preferred Jacob for Bella, hence the reason I started to read your fic but you had me completely and utterly hooked when I read this paragraph in one of your early chapters:
"Jake loves me just as I am. I don’t have to change who I am to be with him. I can be clumsy, plain old Bella with him. He’s protective of me, but he doesn’t smother me. He respects my decisions even if he doesn’t agree with them. He doesn’t shield me from the truth. Edward’s always trying to gloss over things trying to protect me. He’ll lie to me if he thinks it’s for my own good. Sometimes, I feel like a child with him. Everything is always so intense, so serious. With Jake, I feel lighter, freer. I guess, happier."
That sums up for me why I always thought Jacob loved Bella more than Edward and I know the canon shows Bella's feelings to be otherwise but I could never understand why she would love Edward more. I'm so glad that you've written a story that reflects a greater love from Bella for Jacob. I hope that you still love writing this story and haven't given up on it yet because I'm so looking forward to reading more. Thanks for the great read so far!

I wish I had better news to report. The next chapter is plotted out in my head and it's even outlined. I've written about 10 pages of it...but I have at least 2 major scenes to go. Boy, that was and emotional roller coaster. Poor Leah. Damn, doesn't she get a break? I love her fierce fighting for her man. Sam really looked like a weakling comparatively. I think you brought up many good points in this chapter. What would happen if the magic stopped? Would all of these couples just lose interest in each other? Fascinating to think about.
The lovemaking scene with Bella and Jake was very sweet and tender. It seemed to be healing as well, which is so important when earth-shattering events disrupt life. Thanks so much for sharing all of this with us, Meany. Great job! I really enjoyed it. :)

Wow! Girl, you covered a lot of ground in one chapter! I loved the kick in the ass that Bella gave herself for being such a self-absorbed shit. She is sooo right! That is another part of her character that I found really lacking. Not only her total disregard for the pain she knew she would subject her parents to, but it really pissed me off that she didn't support Charlie by going to Harry's funeral. So thoughtless.
The wedding was terrific fun. Jake was such a naughty boy. I loved it! The imprinting of Leah is both cruel and faboo. Can't wait to see how she deals with the hand that Sam flubbed so badly: crush Jack or make herself crazy wanting Patrick. Does she have the strength that she found so lacking in Sam? Great situation, love button.
Cold and rainy here in Bumfuck. I don't even want to know how the weather is out there, show off! ;p I've got another chapter to read and review. Btw, congrats, congrats on all of your Underdog Awards! You deserved each and every one! I'm so proud of you and CFC!

Sorry for the late reply, but things have been...well...crazy. ;) I didn't realize you hadn't caught up on the last 2 chapters. You had quite a lot to read through, huh?
Anyway, I'm glad you like where I'm taking the whole Leah thing. I needed to have some more drama before the real stuff starts with the Volturi, you know? Anyway, I hope you like how I handle everything. It's all plotted out in my head...I just havne't been all that successful with writing it down. Hopefully I'll be inspired this week to make some real progress.
Well, it was sunny hear when you wrote this review...but it's getting cold now! I mean, it's in the 60s EVERY DAY! (I say that with all sarcasm cuz I'm sure it's crazy cold where you are. But, it's damn cold for me!)

Love your work and what you do with the characters. They're so much more believable and alive in your capable hands and really drive the plot. I'm new to all this fanfic stuff and had no idea there existed an entire universe of such avid fans, but I've just sat and read your story in one (albeit long!) sitting. I've read this chapter 3 times now... and it's awesomesauce. I'm soooo glad Leah is getting her light, and that you've taken that "toughness" and those walls she built and made her a strong willed woman, not the "weak" woman that is hiding behind walls that SM gave us.
